Hello crafty friends and hope you all had a lovely weekend.

Wasn't the weather a treat!!!
Blimey, it was torrential on occasions here.

I'm sharing a card with you today that I made using the Tonic Studios Foliage and Florals Patterned Panels Die.

So all I did was cut this out in white card and then laid it over the top of a background I made using some Nuvo pastes and mousses.

I love this technique - you never know what you're going to get!!   But it's always pretty.

I cut the flower out and layered it up.

For some of the layers, I cut them out and then ran them through the machine with the panel die but I used the embossing plates rather than the cutting plates. I like the effect it gave.

This technique would work with any if your flower dies.
And if you don't have this one, you can use any you do have and it will still look nice.

I finished it off with a sentiment from the Layering Frame Collective Sentiment Stamp Set.

For more ideas on how you can use the panel dies, please check out my YouTube video here

I've added some affiliate links below to some of the products I used here in case you want a mooch.

Apols that some of the links won't change to black :(

Have a fabulous day and week and stay safe and well xx

Hellooeeeeee

Good morning and I am very pleased to be back in the land of blog again.

I will be back to posting on here regularly now and we will have a mixture of colouring, die cutting and even perhaps a dash of mixed media??

So what have we got today then?

Well recently, a good friend of mine (Alison Whelan who works for Tonic), organised a crafty retreat weekend down at Bridgend  in aid of Marie Curie and myself and some of the Tonic DT all did a workshop each.

Mine was colouring, and this …

… is what I did.

I coloured it with Tonic Studios Nuvo Aqua Flow Pens – oh my, they are nice to use.

The colours I used here are –
Evergreen Fern, Fresh Green, Aqua Splash, Azure Blue & Indigo Dawn.

I also used some Craft Perfect cardstock -   Mauve Purple and Ocean Blue -  and some Caribbean Ocean Nuvo Drops.

If you are new to watercolouring, then these are a really good way to begin – they are so easy to use.

Anyway I will keep the first one post short and sweet and I’ll see you very soon with another make.

Have the most fabulous of days and hugs to all,

Dawny P xx

Merry Christmas–Ooooh Is It Too Early To Say That???

Good mooring my lovelies and by the time you are reading this, myself and my Nikkie should be on our merry way to the NEC for the Christmas Crafting show.

Anybody going?
Come and say hello if you are – I’ll be on the Crafty Devils stand with my Tonic goodies, including the amazing Kaleidoscope Box (my fave product of the year - I LOVE this)

So today I’m sharing another project I made with the Tonic Kit #2

And ….

… this is it.

You get a sample pot of Radiant Gold Gilding Flakes and a Nuvo Glue Pen to use with them.

So I splodged (technical term lol) some Nuvo Glue onto one of the Poinsettias in the kit and let it go tacky, then I literally just rubbed the gilding flakes in.

Ditto the holly leaves.

Very simple but quite effective I think.

I used the largest outside edge die to form the base card.
You’ll need to chop a little bit off of the bottom edge point so that it stands up but it creates a lovely shape I think.

So that’s my make for today and I promise I won’t leave it so long until next time.
<=>I have lots of samples from the shows to share so I better get them photographed and on here when I get back!!</br<=>

Until then, happy crafting and crafty hugs to all.

Kit 2–Faaaaabulous

Good morning lovelies – it’s been a while but I haven’t been slacking I promise!!

So what have I got to share today?
Well I’ve been having a play with the new Tonic Kit #2 and it is LUSH.
You know me and colour, well as soon as I opened the box I was hooked!! The reds and golds are beautiful so I thought I’d make a couple Christmas cards.

And this is the first one.

It’s such a simple card to put together and it’s got quite a contemporary twist with the 3 sentiments.
The only thing I added that wasn’t in the kit was the tartan ribbon.

I’m not sure you can see but I didn’t stick the sentiments all the way down – the right hand edges are left free.

The little holly leaves were cut from the smallest die and I coloured them with the pens that come with the set.

I love the different types of card that come in this kit – it’s so versatile because they all work well together.

You get …

1967e Traditional Christmas Layering Die Set

1967e Holly Season Stamp Set

9817e Speciality Papers - Red Berries

9828e Speciality Card - Golden Satin

9075e Weave Textured - Chilli Red

9442e Mirror Card - Gloss - Harvest Gold

9471e Mirror Card - Satin - Scarlet Organza

9500e Pearlescent Card - Majestic Gold

9944e Glitter Card - Ruby Ritz

1987e Handmade Flowers - Red Poinsettia

997n Mini Crystal Drop - Red Berry

995n Mini Crystal Drop - Woodland Green

313n Woodland Greens Alcohol Marker Pack (contains Bamboo Leaf, Pine Grove and Hunter Green pens)

988n Gilding Flakes Sample - Radiant Gold

204n Large Nuvo Glue Pen

114e Decoupage Scissors (Subscribers Only)

1977e Craft Kit Wallet

1978e A5 Ring Binder

That’s a LOT of kit for sure.

If you get a sec, stop by tomorrow and I’ll share the  second card I made, which involves a bit of gilding (oooerrr!!).

Till then, have a great day and happy crafting.

Hugs,

Dawny xx

Baby Bunting : )

Good morning crafty peeps and thank you for stopping by today.

I’ve got another baby card to share and it’s this one ….

DSCN1696 copy_thumb[3]

… here.

I wanted it to look like a chest of drawers so I used an outside edge from Tonic Topnote Trellis to cut the ‘legs’on the left hand side then made little drawers.

I think it helps to ink the edges on something like this, even though I don’t usually do it.
I used Tim Holtz Walnut Stain Distress Ink.

DSCN1698 copy_thumb[2]

The bunting is cut from the Rococo Petite Baby Balloons die and stuck together.
And the paper I used is from the Nitwits Country Meadow download.

DSCN1697 copy_thumb[3]

And the main element is the little cutie from Adorable Elephants.
The little hearts and clouds are cut from the Rococo Baby Nursery Mobile die and the sentiment is the Miniature Moments – New Baby.

DSCN1695 copy_thumb[2]

And that’s the card done.

I hope you like it and if your dies have arrived, I hope you’re having as much fun with them as I did.
Have a lovely day and crafty hugs to all xxx

You’re A Star

Hi there peeps – hope you are all OK today.

I’ve not posted for a while as I’ve had all sorts of stuff going on – none of it good really – but we are all OK now and it’s back to crafting again.

Before I get to the card, I just have to tell you that I have set up a brand new blog which is specifically for my Tonic Studios makes ( I’ll still be using this one as well) . But everything ‘Tonic’ will be put on there and all in one place so it will hopefully make things a lot easier to find. You can check it all out right here.

So the card I made here is for the challenge over at Papertake Weekly and we have our

Anything Goes

theme with the option of making something summery.

And …

.. this is what I did.

I used beautiful Tonic Studios Star Layering die set which is available from Crafty Devils and I created lots of dimension by scoring the stars from the tip of each point, right the way across to the other side and I did this on all 5 points, then I simply valley and mountain folded the creases.

The beautiful papers are Lili of The Valley Sunny Side Up and they will be available from this Saturday 6th June.

The white star background was made using the dies from the set as well.
I used the 2 smallest dies and cut several out and then glued them randomly down onto a piece of card.

Then I ran a Nuvo Glue Pen around the outside of each star and sprinkled it with  Nuvo Pure Sheen Diamond Glitter.

Do you like the little sparkler?
I nicked this idea from Jodie so I can't take the credit, but what a fabulous idea.

She used the new Tonic glue gun and just put a blob onto a glass craft mat then covered it with glitter.
A few minutes later, you have a gorgeous little embellishment that has cost you next to nothing to make and looks lovely.

So that’s my card and thank you for stopping by today.
I hope you like the new blog and  that it makes life easier if you are just looking for the Tonic stuff.

Have a great day and hugs to all xxx

Butterflies & Blooms

Hello peeps and I hope that you are having a lovely day today.
I’ve been having another play with the gorgeous stamps and die sets from
Tonic Studios and  ….

… this is what I did.

The set I used here is Felicity and  I used the outer edge to create the white underneath part and then both edges together to create the aqua top part. You can use these as the main focus of your card or as an embellishments as I’ve done here – they work equally beautifully for both.

I also made some flowers from the Entwining Trellis sets – soooo very easy to use.
They make your card really stand out I think, as you can use the same papers / colours so that everything matches.

The Nuvo Crystal Drops centre finishes them off a treat.

Here’s a list of products I used –

Tonic
Studios Rococo Die & Stamp Set – Butterfly Felicity
Tonic Studios Entwining Trellis – Bellus Buttercup
Tonic Studios Delicate Daisy
Tonic Studios Nuvo Crystal Drops – Neptune
Papers – Up Up & Away, Lili of The Valley
Quote Stamp – Set 63 Quotables, Lili of The Valley
Pink Denim Ribbon - The Ribbon Girl
White Satin Ribbon – The Ribbon Girl

So that's my card for today.
I hope that you like it and thanks for stopping by.

Handbags At Dawny : )

Good morning and a very Happy Monday to everybody.

Did you see the weekender on Create and Craft?

It was the launch of the very gorgeous and extremely versatile  Tonic Studios  stamp and die sets,  and oh my these are pretty.

So what did I do then?

Well …..

002

I made a little handbag, or rather a gift bag.

The dies I used to create the actual bag are the Layering Geometric Dies.
I cut 2 of  the largest from white card and 2 of the second largest from patterned paper for the mat, then I just sandwiched a little box between them.

003

The butterflies I used to create the decorations are these ….

quote2   quote2

… aren't they beautiful?

I used the outside edge from Felicity and stamped it with the Laura stamp.
The beauty of these sets is that they mix and match so well so there are lots of combinations..

I stamped the image first using Crushed Olive then cut it out.
Then I painted on a bit more ink in a few places before adding some Nuvo Diamond  Glitter.

004

I die cut a heart aperture in the Layering Geometric die cut using the outside Paisley Heart edge  then cut another one in pink to sit inside it.
I find the best way to get them to sit snugly is to apply some DST across the back – you don't need to remove the backing tape – then just pop the other piece in and the tape holds it securely  in place.

The white inner detail is cut using the inner and outer edges from the Floral Hearts set.

quote2    quote2

Again these mix and match so well.

005

The strap is made using the inside and scalloped outer edges from the Beautiful Buckle set.

001

So that’s my little project completed and I hope you like it.

Have a wonderful day and see you soon.

A Cute Little Card : )

Good morning and a very happy Tuesday to everybody.

Here’s a cute little card which I’ve made using the ever so gorgeous Tonic Camellia and Celtic Dream Layering Die Sets.

I used the largest Camellia die and folded it in half to make the base, then I  cut the next size up in lilac and white.
I used the second smallest inner edge form the Celtic dream set and cut into the lilac card, then I stuck the lilac and white cards together.

The sentiment centre is taken from the Tonic Thinking of You die set.
It embosses like a dream without you even have to think about getting your embossing mats out.

The cute little flowers are the tiniest from the Camellia set  - they are so sweet - and I just  moulded then with the Tonic Floral Crafters Took Set.
I also added a drop of Nuvo Crystal Drops in Neptune.

The leaves are from the Tonic Studios Flora Frames Topper Die Set.
You may have guessed that I really love these pretty leaves a LOT.
I also added some Nuvo Glitter in Diamond to them before I stuck them down.

And that's my card.
I hope that you like it and thank you for stopping by today.

See you soon as soon and crafty hugs to all xx

Did You See ………

Good morning peeps and as promised, I have something very VERY new for you today.

It’s that new in fact that it has only just been launched and if you tuned in to Create & Craft this morning then you will have seen the beautiful new Tonic dies on the Craftinator.

If you missed it there’s another chance to see the new dies because there’s another show at 2pm.

So I made a couple of cards with some of them and hope you like : )

The first one is …..

… this one here.
It’s an 8x8 card and I used the absolutely gorgeous Celtic Dream Layering Die Set.
As well as being extremely easy on the eye, it’s a great value set as well because you actually get 12 dies in total.

It’s an easy card to put together because it’s really just layering down in different sizes – the dies do all the work for you.

I love the design on these dies.

Some flowers and leaves plus some Crystal Drops.

So that’s the first card.

For the second ….

… I made a rocker card using the new Art Nouveau Layering Die Set and again it’s terrific value because you get 10 dies in total in this set.

The detail is gorgeous.
I added some more Nuvo Crystal Drops – I cannot help myself as  these are so nice to use.

Some more flowers, different ones  this time.

And that’s the cards.

The dies I used for card 1 are -

Tonic Studios Celtic Dream Layering Set

Tonic Studios Entwining Trellis – Bellus Buttercup

Tonic Studios Entwining Trellis – Delicate Daisy

Tonic Studios Flora Frames Topper Die Set

Tonic Studios Nuvo Crystal Drops – Pearl

For card 2 I used -

Tonic Studios Art Nouveau Layering Die Set

Tonic Studios Entwining Trellis – Radiant Roselily

Tonic Studios Just For You Pansy Topper Die Set

Tonic Studios Nuvo Crystal Drops – Pearl

That’s it for me today.
Have a good one whatever you’re doing and I’ll see you soon as soon.

Hugs to all xxx

Take One Header Die … Part 2

Hi peeps.

As promised, I’m back again with a couple more cards I made using the Tonic Garden Terrace header die set.
Once again I’ll put the supplies and links at the end of the post

The first one today is ……

… an easel card.

Another super easy one to do – I folded a piece of A4 card which had been trimmed to 5” wide into 3.
I die cut one end using both inner and outer edges, then made another edge and stuck it onto the top of the section that had been cut so that there was one and each end.

The inside is just covered in white card and I made a border from  another piece of pale aqua card to go on the bottom, again using both inner and outer edges.

More beautiful blooms made using the  Bellus Buttercup and Delicate Daisy Entwining Trellis dies – LOVE these.
The leaves are made from the
Flora Frames set.

For the second one, I did a similar thing as the first card.

But instead of using it an an easel card, I folded it up to form a little wallet.
I made a little tag thing to pop inside -  you can see it here underneath the card.
It’s very plain here but you could add your sentiment or write a message on it

You could also turn this sideways on to make another type of card – like a Z fold.

I hope that you’ve enjoyed seeing these – I think that these dies are so versatile.
Here’s the supplies that I used – same as yesterday really ..

Tonic Garden Terrace Header Die Set

Tonic Layering Dies Set - Scalloped Squares

Tonic Trellis Circles Die Set

Tonic  Topper die set - Happy Birthday Pansy
Tonic Entwining Trellis Bellus Buttercup Set
Tonic Entwining Trellis Delicate Daisy set

Tonic Nuvo Crystal Drops – Pearl

Tonic Nuvo Glitter – Diamond

I’ll see you tomorrow  with something completely different and very very new : )

Enjoy the rest of your day and huggiest of hugs to all xxx
