I might not be around too much over the next week as I have a job interview on Monday which will require a lot of work, as I've been asked to do a presentation *terrified* Public speaking is not my forte... On the other hand I managed to successfully sign in public on Tuesday. My sign choir did a half hour performance at the deaf awareness festival in the city on Tuesday, with people watching, and filming it, and I coped reasonably with that.
So, moving away from my impending terror, I do get to pick up two weeks worth of comics tomorrow, including the new Mercury Falling trade (yay Bart), Power Girl number 1, Supergirl and Comet, Flash rebirth (yay Bart!), FC Legion of 3 Worlds (more Bart!), amongst many others. And I should be able put in an order for the Wondy vinyl figure. *beams*
And I got a new CD in the post a few days ago - Ensiferum: Victory Songs -
Viking Metal. Sounds exactly like you'd expect. Which is awesome. Ok, so the lyrics are a bit lame, but the music is wonderful. I think I've got a Tyr CD coming soon as well. I think I prefer it when they are singing in a Scandinavian language and I just hear the sounds of the vocals.

Tyr - not Norse
From the Faroe Islands instead. I'm rather disappointed by that. Still awesome though.
Edit: Can you say OMFG? Battle Metal band Turisas cover Boney M's Rah Rah Rasputin.
I love metal covers of pop songs. I'm now thinking we should have stayed to watch them at the gig, but hey, I was having such a bad day I just needed to go home.
For bonus points - check out the decidely non metal crowd of models they've got to be the fans. Lame.

Tyr = the win
Oh yes. If you like your epic metal check them out. I think they're Norse. Anyway they've got at least 3 albums , called How far to Aasgard, Eric the Red and Ragnarok. I like them so much I think I'll even buy the album.
After years of loathing all new music I'm so pleased I've found stuff I like. Turns out the reason I've been going wrong is by listening to the radio playing indie crap. As soon as I bought a metal magazine with a free CD called Battle Metal, I found the stuff I liked. It's not like the death or goth metal that I'd heard in the 90s, this is so much better. Less (if any) screaming and more tuens. Awesome. Ina similar vein I've also found Alestorm (Scottish pirate metal and unbelievabely good fun), Ensiferum and Turisas. Must find more.
