I have finished another vintage bag by adding seed beads, cubes, round faceted beads, bugles, and button beads. These are fun to do and this one also has a strap that slides inside like the other. They can both be carried as a clutch or shoulder bag.
It takes a long time to create heirlooms. Photos and information on this blog are not free to be pinned, copied, or transferred without my permission. Please be cyber savvy and ask before taking.

Finished.
I have finished the first vintage bag! It is all black beads-seed, and three different sizes of bugle beads, some silver pearls, some silver buttons with pearl in the center, and silver beads. There are some iridescent black ones in there too along with some black cubes.....
Here is the next one I want to add some sparklies to!

On the side
I am also going to work on this project a little at a time. This is a vintage velvet evening bag. I am going to add beads and sparkles to one side for a gift.

A Vintage bag makeover
The front and outside of the vintage black bag. I purchased this at a local collectibles shop. Then I dumped a collections of different green and gold beads in a tray, threaded up my needle and stitched them on the outside of the bag, catching only the outside fabric. Kind of like a leaf or whatever design. I just kept adding them until I liked how they all looked. There are bugle, seed, oblongs, squares, rectangles in the collection.
I also added an initial to the inside in all gold beads.

Vintage Bag for a wedding
A close girlfriend is soon to be mother-of-the-groom--October, actually. So, for part of her birthday present, I wanted to embellish one of my vintage handbags for her.
She found a great dress earlier this year, and just recently found some great shoes as well. The dress is a gold brocade. While she was on vacation, earlier this year, I went by and took pictures. Her husband even volunteered to model it for me! LOL Anyway, when she got back from her cruise, she kept changing her mind about the shoe color. I needed to know that to put in the right color of darker bugle beads! Today, I gave her the bag and she is thrilled!
I used a piece of crushed velvet to line the inside, and glued some sheer and ivory roses to the inside as a special accent.
Happy wedding too, Miss Linda!
