Shimmer Silks
I did a few more rows around the edge of this design. I have decided that I am not going to add anymore of the pattern rows. There are 8 more rows called for in the chart but I don't want the piece that big. I want to turn this into a pillow and it is already 6 25 inches square. I will see how I want this finished next and show the final piece when I get it done.

Lesson Five
Lesson Five is all about adding a border around the square. A strand of blue and yellow Kreinik are laid the length of a side and then overstitched with Soie Gobelin to create a pattern. I have completed two of the 12 rows around the square. This is going to take a while!

I finished the center section by using Soie Gobelin. Then, turning the canvas a quarter turn, more Oriental stitches are on the bottom. This time, Soie d'Alger is used first and then Soie Gobelin. Next I have started filling in Sandy's slide stitch on both sides of the box with Soie Perlee.

Mystery #9
I am starting Loretta Spears Mystery #9 called Shimmer Silk. It is worked on a 12 inch square of white Congress cloth. Lesson 1 has the setup outline for the piece. It is worked in Soie Gobelin in a very pale blue. So far it looks like some mechanical piping to me!
