I received June Pearl in the mail--back from the finisher. Leigh Shafer did a beautiful job and this will
be fabulous on the tree! Thanks, Leigh! Leigh finishes everything from bookmarks, picture frames, pillows, scissor fobs to stockings, eggs, and lots more. If you would like her email addy, let me know and I will be happy to send it to you!

June Pearl!
June Pearl, the ornament design by Kelly Clark, is finished. I did the rest of the four way Continental with the Splendor and finished all the outside stitches for finishing! This only took ten hours to stitch and I can
hardly wait to get it finished. Hope you enjoyed watching this one and I am thinking about checking out some more of this series! http://www.kellyclarkneedlepoint.com/victorian-ornaments?page=1

Working on the bottum
Zipping right along on this piece is so easy! I finished the silver band of slanted stitches with the Kreinik. Then using the silver Kreinik again, I fist stem stitched all the curves on the bottom. Then I filled in the rest of the silver with basketweave. The stitch guide called for French knots, but I felt they stuck out too much from the curves, so....I changed it. I am now working on the four way Continental with 4 strands of Splendor. I have also done a few more rows around the outside edge.

Center Panel
Following the instructions for both threads and stitches, I did the silver Kreinik cross stitches and then the box around those with more Kreinik in 5555. Next, silver Kreinik for the squares on point and finally the French Knots are done with 5555 again. I have also done a bit more of the skip tent on the top and started the bottom section by working silver Kreinik slanted stitches.

Top third
I have finished the leaves in the four ply of Splendor. I then did the ornament cap in Fyre Werks in long satin stitches. Next, all the silver basketweave was put in leaving the outline of the ovals. They are worked in Kreinik in the leaf stitch. I also started skip tent in Kreinik gold around the outside for the finishing.

Starting at the top
This is going to be worked from the top down. The ribbon is worked in two shades of ribbon floss and one of Neon Rays +. This is where I substituted fibers and colors as I am working from my stash. I am working the leaves in 3 shades of Splendor using four ply and laying each stitch following the colors provided in the stitch guide. I still have just a bit of leaf to finish on the left side.

June Pearl
I have framed up the next project! June Pearl is one of the Heritage Ornaments from Kelly Clark Needlepoint and comes with a stitch guide by Gina Liuzzi of A Stitch In Time, San Marino, CA. It is sixth in a 12 month series designed in 2009 as a club for A Stitch In Time and are based on the mouth blown glass shapes ornaments from the Victorian Age. Gina Liuzzi who teaches at A Stitch In Time created the stitch guides for the series that is based on the gemstones for each month. You can see the entire series here: http://www.kellyclarkneedlepoint.com/victorian-ornaments and also cruise the rest of Ms. Clark's collections! The design is 3.75 x 4.75 on 18 count and you can see I have all the fibers ready to go. I did have to substitute the colors of the ribbon as I did not have the exact ones called for.
