Finished!
The Duke of Edinburgh is now a finished tassel! Overall length is 8.5 inches. I finished it by sewing the fourth side to the first side. Then I glued it to the wooden base and added black gimp at the top and down the sides. Last I added the black fringe around the bottom and put a strip of gold on top of that.

Tassel progress
I have stitched the four panels together so far and now have to stitch them into the circle connecting them all. I also attached rattail through the wooden tassel base after having DH drill a hole all the way through. I then glued gold gimp at the very top.

All 4 panels
All four of the panels are stitched! I need to pick up some supplies--upholstery trims--to do the rest of the finishing on this. In other words, I have to go shopping! LOL

Duke of Edinburgh
This is my progress on the Duke of Edinburgh, a tassel design by Catherine Coleman. The white line on the side is my basting stitches to split the canvas in half. I will repeat the shown patterns so I have a total of 4 pieces that go on a wood tassel base. This is a very old pattern from my stash! The bottom one is stitched in Kreinik #8, Soie Perlee, DMC Perle and has Mill Hill Beads. The top one is stitched with Kreinik #8, Soie Perlee, and more Mill Hill Beads. Each piece is about 2 x 4 inches. I have one more of each one to stitch.
