Beautiful Moments

Happy Friday!

I have two cards today using the Carta Bella Beautiful Moments 6x6 pad which has been majorly underused. Both cards were actually created last fall but I just never got around to sharing on the blog.

My first card features a stamp from my "un-used" box which is Rabbit Watering Can from Stampavie. After cutting the image out with Spellbinders Nestabilities and coloring with Copics, I added some photo corners with My Favorite Things Die-namics and an additional banner in the opposite corner from the pre-printed portion of the dp.The banner pieces were cut using two different C.C. Designs Cutters Corner Banner and Mini Banners. A few jewels and buttons provided the finishing touches.

Products: Stampavie stamp, Carta Bella dp, C.C. Designs Cutters, My Favorite Things Die-namics, Basic Grey Jewels, Spellbinders Nestabilities, Copic Markers
Copics: Main Flowers-R81, R56, R59; Tiny Flowers-R81, R83; Leaves-G40, G82, G82; Vase-W00, E81, Y21, Y23, Y26, W2, W5, W7; Bunny-W00, E81

My second card is super simple and features a stamp that was unmarked as to origin. I actually found it in my box of wood mounted that I've designated for sale or donation and is from my pre-Copic days. I thought if went perfectly with the Carta Bella paper.

Copics: Roses-E35, E37, E39, W5; Greenery-G40, G82, G85; Shadows-W00, W1

Thanks for stopping by. I hope you have a great weekend.

Rosie Rabbit

Today's card is for the Sweet Sunday Sketch (SSSC153). I stamped the Stampavie Rosie Rabbit image onto Copics X-Press It and then cut out and matted with Spellbinders Nestabilities, allowing the rose part of the image to fall outside of the box. Everything was colored with Copics and I combined this little cutie with paper from the October Afternoon Sidewalks 8x8 pad. I feel like I've used this paper a lot yet it doesn't look like I've made much of a dent. I used a couple of My Favorite Things Die-namics to cut the rolled up rose and greenery. The border was cut using the C.C. Designs Fairwee Tiny Scallop Cutter and I just layered a strip of the ribbon over it and made a faux bow with the remainder so I could layer the flower on top of it without adding more bulk.

Skateboard Dude

Good morning. Today's card is for a challenge at Crazy 4 Challenges which is to use dots and stripes. I'm really trying to make an effort to join more challenges when I can and this is my first for this particular blog. I'm not sure why it has taken me so long to join in on the fun, especially since some of my very favorite stampers are there.

Along with wanting to join more challenges, I have also been trying to use some of my stamps that have yet to see any ink. This Skateboard Dude by Stampavie was one of those. After coloring the image with Copics I cut it out. I attached it to the background piece with just a bit of glue along the right edges. When the glue dried, I then placed dimensional dots on the other side to make it appear to pop off the panel. I also did a extra frame around the edge with the double sided paper. The paper is all from the new Echo Park A Boy's Life.

And the Stockings Were Hung

I have three Christmas cards today all featuring a Stampavie stamp. First up is Bright as a Star which I combined it with last year's Crate Paper Snow Day paper collection. I really used this pad a lot last Christmas and then Crate Paper sent me a new one as part of a whole box of goodies I won for sharing my cards on their blog last year. As per usual, I stamped this little guy onto Copics X-Press It cardstock and then colored with Copics adding some Flower Soft on the hat. Note that I have not added any hard embellishments as I'm trying to cut down on my postage bill this year!

Time for a Picnic

I'm in a hurry so I will get right to today's card which is for the July Sketch for You to Try. I haven't stamped this cute Stampavie Sarah Kay in a while. These were my favorite stamps to color when I first got started with Copic markers. I've since expanded my interests but I definitely have not forgotten these. All the paper is My Mind's Eye Lime Twist.

Star Gazing

So sorry I've been neglecting the blog. The cold I thought I had turned out to me an upper respiratory infection. I've been doing a whole lot of couch sitting and napping. I am so behind on Christmas shopping and decorating it's not funny. I'm feeling better but trying to pace myself. I surely do not want a relapse. Frankly, the only reason I had any posts last week is because one card was already completed and the other had the stamped image colored and the paper picked out. I hope to get back on track but no promises. I hope you stick with me while I try to get my act together!

Today's card is for this week's All That Scraps Wednesday Challenge which is to include a snowflake. I stamped the Stampavie Star Gazing stamp onto Bazzill Simply Smooth Cardstock and the colored with Copic Markers as per usual. The last time I used this image I decided they were polar bears so this time around I made them cute brown bears.  I also wanted to use more traditional colors on this one.  I LOVE this The Cat's Pajamas Snowflake die. It's big and delightfully frilly.

Stargazing Polar Bears

For all my USA friends, I hope you had a wonderful Thanksgiving celebration. We had a great holiday other than that darn ballgame which Alabama just gave away. Aargh! We had lunch with my sister and her family at my aunt's house.  After visiting a while there we went on to my stepson and his wife's house to eat dinner.  We watched the Iron Bowl with them on Friday and then got up early Saturday morning and headed home. I had great intentions of starting on the Christmas decorating but the house was cold when we came in since I had lowered the thermostat to save money.  When it got warm I got relaxed and lazy. I just spent the day doing a whole lot of nothing for a change.
Now for today's project. I was intimidated by this image until I actually started coloring it. It was mostly about about shadows especially since I decided that the bears should be Polar. It's hard to believe that I used 13 different Copic colors because it looks like I hardly it colored it all. Since the image contained so much white I wanted to keep it simple so I wouldn't overpower it. Both patterned papers are olders one from my stash.

Have a great Sunday.  I'm hoping to get a little more productive today!

A Pile of Penquins

There is something about penguins that just make me smile. My friend Miranda makes the most awesome creations including lens pets (for your camera) and sock monsters.

She makes all kinds of fun and colorful creatures in addition to penquins. Check out her Etsy shop here, Mandee Franee Designs.  And here is her Facebook page for tons of colorful inspiration.

Now on to my own penquins. This Stampavie Pile of Penquins image just makes me smile. Since they are piling on to create a Christmas tree shape it seemed natural to use some Christmas tree paper. I already had the paper picked out and the image colored and as a consequence I have this week's Sketch for You To Try much earlier than I normally do.

Hot Colors for a Hot Summer Day

I hope you are staying cool wherever you live. It is so very hot here in Alabama that it is hard to get energy up to do much of anything. I dearly love the south and really wouldn't live anywhere else but I have to admit I wouldn't mind a very long vacation in a cooler area right now!

Today's card is for this week's Stampavie DT Challenge. The challenge is to use a Stampavie image with any types of "dots". I combined a sweet Sarah Kay image with some of my very favorite Cosmo Cricket paper, Delovely.  My dots are featured on the card background via a Cuttlebug embossing folder as well as the dots in one of the patterned papers. I stamped the image with Memento Tuxedo Black ink onto Bazzill Simply Smooth cardstock, then colored with Copic markers.

Our time with granddaughters Skye and Julia is drawing to a close. We've enjoyed our visit with them but I think they are both ready to see their mom and dad. The down side of the visit is that I've managed to gain five pounds, due to the kid friendly menus I'm sure, plus all the extra snack type food that I don't buy on a normal basis.  I'll have to get back on the diet wagon next week.

As always, thank for stopping by.

DeLovely Part II

Today I have more projects using Cosmo Cricket DeLovely collection.

First up is a card I created for this week's All That Scraps Wednesday Challenge.  The challenge was to include dry embossing so I used one of my Cuttlebug embossing folders on the background cardstock. I like how it frames my stamped piece.  I stamped the Sweet November image with Tuxedo Black Memento ink onto Bazzill (formerly Prism) Simply Smooth Cardstock, then colored with Copic markers. I cut her out then mounted to the card using pop dots.

Products: Cosmo Cricket Delovely pp, Sweet November stamp, PTI cs and button, May Arts ribbon, Making Memories stickers, Cuttlebug embossing folder, Copic markers

Copic Markers: Skin-E00, R01, R11, R20; Hair-Y11, Y21, Y23; Clothing-BG10, BG11, BG13; Wings, Shoes, Lips-RV04, RV14, RV17; Wings-YG23, YG13, YG25; Eyes-B32, B34

Next is a card created for this week's Stampavie "my favorite colors" challenge. The colors in the DeLovely line are some of my favorites which is part of the reason I love this collection so much. In fact these are the colors of my craft room decor. I stamped the Sarah Kay image with Tuxedo Black Memento ink onto Bazzill Simply Smooth Cardstock, then colored with Copic markers. I cut out using my Labels 8 Nestabilities and sponged around the edges with Versamark ink while it was still in the die. Notice that I actually used two pieces from the matching DeLovely sticker sheet. I cut the edges off the Best Friend sticker and one of the small journal stickers and placed them slightly underneath the stamped piece to form additonal layers of color.

I hope you are having a great week.  As always, thank you for stopping by. I know I'm not a frequent blogger so I really appreciate those of you who have stuck with me!

Rain, Rain Go Away

So much rain here! We had a deluge last week complete with tornado warnings and flash floods. That storm front left the south and is now doing the same to the northeast. Unfortunately we our forecast for intermittent rain throughout this week too so I throught some cards featuring umbrellas were rather fitting.

I created this card for the Friday Sketcher's Blog.  My version features a Rachelle Anne Miller for Stampavie stamp, Lily and Milo - Rainy Days.  I combined it with some brand new Jillibean Soup patterned paper, "Egg Drop Soup." Cute, huh?  I stamped the image onto Prism Simply Smooth Cardstock using Memento ink, colored with Copic Markers, then cut it out trimming closely around the edges.  I mounted the image onto a piece of cardstock that I had embossed with my Cuttlebug Swiss Dots embossing folder.  I pieced the umbrella using two more patterns from the Jillibean Soup collection, trimmed and adhered to the image with pop dots for added dimension.

Products: Rachelle Anne Miller for Stampavie stamp, Jillibean Soup Egg Drop Soup patterned paper, My Little Shoebox Patterned paper (cloud), May Arts ribbon, Cuttlebug Embossing folder

Copic Markers: Skin - E00, E02, R01; Girl Hair - Y21, Y23; Boy Hair - E55, E57; Girl clothing - RV32, RV34; Boy Clothing - YR12, R02; Girl Boots and Clothing Trim - YG23, YG25; Puddle - B41, B34

My second card features a My Favorite Things Pure Innocence My Umbrella stamp and yet more new paper from the Prima Umbrella Collection.  The design is based loosely on a sketch from the Lord Have Mercy! blog.  Same as before, the image was stamped with Memento Ink onto Prism Simply Smooth Cardstock and then colored with Copic Markers.  The image piece was mounted onto one of the fabric pieces from the American Crafts Dear Lizzie collection.  I can happily say that it cut like a champ using my Spellbinders Nestabilities which I ran through my Cuttlebug machine.  There were a few fuzzies on one edge but I trimmed those with scissors.  I think it adds a bit of unexpected texture to the card.

Products: My Favorite Things Pure Innocence stamp, Prima Umbrella collection patterned paper, American Crafts Dear Lizzie Fabric, Papertrey Ink ribbon and buttons, Queen & Co Rox, Fiskars border punch, Spellbinders Nestabilities, Copic Markers

That it is for the day.  I hope all is well in your little corner of the world.
