A Pure Heart

Today's two faith based cards were created for Grace Klein here in Birmingham (@grace_klein_community). This is a wonderful faith based organization that has many charitable endeavors both locally and globally. Their goal is to give out 100,000 scripture based cards this year to be included with the food, clothing, school supplies boxes, etc. They want cards in bundles of 25 which is daunting to our kind of card makers but my goal is to donate 100 cards by the end of the year. If you have any questions or want to join me, please send me an email or comment on this post and I will give you the details.

I stamped the Pretty Pink Fresh Floral Hearts stamp and and then cut out with the matching die and colored with Copic markers. I stamped the small cross from a old Technique Tuesday set onto the linen card front which was cut out with the The Greetery Nordic Frames dies. After attaching the floral heart with a layer of craft foam, I stamped the sentiment from the Stamp Simply Words of Encouragement set. A few Doodlebug sequins finished it up.

Products: Pretty Pink Posh stamp and die, Stamp Simply stamp, PTI linen cs, The Greetery die, Doodlebug sequins, Altenew ink, Copic Markers
Copics: BG000, BG01, Y13, Y15, R10, R83, YG01, YG25, E81

While the scripture stamp was on my craft table I made a second card with the same theme. I used a die from the Lawn Fawn Outside in Stitched Heart Stackables set to cut an opening from a stitched edge panel. I cut a backing panel and blended on salvaged patina distress ink and stamped the sentiment from the Stamp Simply Words of Encouragement set. The gold cross was cut using a die from the Simon Says Crosses set which apparently is retired. The flowers and leaves were cut from my scraps bag using dies from the Spellbinders Be Bold Blooms set.

These two cards represent cards #14 and #15 of my bundle of 25 (because I found 12 cards in my stash that fit the scripture requirement).

Happy Turkey Day

I don't do a lot of Thanksgiving cards mostly because I don't really mail them to that many people, but I couldn't resist the Pretty Pink Posh Happy Turkey stamps and dies.

I stamped all the images onto Neenah card stock, cut out with the matching dies and then colored with Copic Markers. For a fun and different background I used the Pretty Pink Posh Tic Tac Toe die cut from soft stone card stock and attached to the card front. I then placed the leaves and turkey with a combo of glue and foam tape for dimension. I stamped the sentiment from the same set in black and another leaf in soft stone. Easy and fun to do.

Peace.Love.Joy

I have another card featuring a tag created for Ellen Hutson 12 Tags of Christmas with a Feminine Twist 2015The Day 12 theme features ornaments. I was inspired by the beautiful simplicity of elements on a shaped tag by Dawn Woleslagle.

I took this theme literally and stamped an onaments image twice from the Papertrey Ink Holiday Cheer set onto a white tag cut with the Pretty Pink Posh Decorative Tag 1 die set using Catkin and Pure Poppy inks plus the sentiment with Black ink. I cut another tag from Limeade Ice cardstock and tied the two tags together with a ribbon bow.

I attached the tag set  to a simple textured cardstock and patterned paper background.

May Your Days Be Merry & Bright

Today's card features a tag created for Day 1 of Ellen Hutson 12 Tags of Christmas with a Feminine Twist 2015. Now that is a mouthful of challenge! I have my tag placed on a card because I need all the Christmas cards I can get right now. I actually forgot and had this baby glued down before I thought to take a photo of the tag by itself. I was inspired by Carolyn Peeler's tag which featured embossing and watercolors as well as trees.

I failed to write down the inks I used to watercolor piece of Ranger Distress Watercolor cardstock but I know that they were  Ranger Distress inks. Once dried I cut out a tag with the Pretty Pink Posh Stitched Duo 3 die set. I stamped the two graphic trees from the Hero Arts Joy to the World set with Versamark ink and heat embossed both with Citrron powder with a bit of masking in between. I then stamped the sentiment at the top and heat embossed with Glacier powder. I decorated the trees with Kaisercraft jewels in pink and aqua. I used the same tag die to cut another tag from Berrylicious cardstock and then tied them together with Honeydew twine.  I stamped two of the solid stars from the same stamp set directly onto the card base and also heat embossed them before attaching the tag set.

Products: Hero Arts stamps, Ranger Distress Watercolor cs, MFT and PTI cs, The Twinery twine, Kaisercraft jewels, Recollections embossing powders, Pretty Pink Posh die, Versamark ink, Ranger Distress inks

Thank you for stopping by on a Monday morning.

Just a Note

Good morning. Today's post will have to be short and sweet because I have a doctors appointment this morning.

I used the Pretty Pink Posh Stitched Duo 3 die set to cut a tag from watercolor paper. I left all the squares in the diecut and stamped the flower bud, stem, extra leaf and sentiment from the WPlus9 Doodle Buds set with Versafine ink and then heat embossed with clear embossing powder. After watercoloring the images with Zig Clean Color Brush markers, I removed the square in the center of the flower. I then popped it up with foam tape for a "spotlight" effect. I attached to the finished pieced to the prepared background panel using craft foam. A trio of sequins from the Nature Mix finished it up.

Here is a closeup view of the flower center.

Products: WPlus9 stamps, Doodlebug dp, Strathmore Watercolor cs, PTI cs,  Pretty Pink Posh sequins and dies, Versafine ink, Zig Clean Color Brush Watercolors

Mama Elephant Boo-Tastic

I am still working on Halloween cards which are some of my favorite holiday cards to make. They are just fun and sill and all of them go to my grandchildren and grand nieces and nephews.

I used the Pretty Pink Posh Stitched Film Strip die to cut from white Neenah and black cardstock. I stamped three of the images from the sweet Mama Elephant Bootastic set onto the white squares and colored with Copic markers. I inserted them back into the film strip diecut and added it to the card base with craft foam along with a strip of patterned paper. I stamped the bats and the sentiment directly onto the card base using Versafine ink and then added a couple of sequins for a tall, skinny CAS card.

Products: Mama Elephant stamps, Doodlebug dp and sequins, PTI cs, Pretty Pink Posh die, Versafine ink, Copic Markers
Copics: Skin-E000, E00, E11, R20; Hair-N1, N3, N5 and YR31, YR30, YR23; Clothing-W00, E81, BV00, BV01, BV02,BV04, YR12, YR14, YR16, V12, V15, V17; Shadows-C00, C1

Jingle All the Way

Today's project is for the current Tag You're It (#32) Challenge. I can't resist Santa!!

To create a shaker tag used the Pretty Pink Posh Stitched Duo 1 die set to cut two tags from Neenah Solar White and Limeade Ice cardstock and a rectangular Spellbinders Nestie to create the cut out from the top (green tag). I stamped one of the Santas and the tree from the My Favorite Things Jingle All the Way set and colored with Copic Markers. The sentiment was stamped partially on the outside tag and finished up on the inside tag. I sandwiched everything together with craft foam and a piece of acetate for the window, filling the inside with beads and sequins.  I topped the tag with the bow cut from red cardstock using the Pretty Pink Posh Twine and Bows set.

I added the tag to the card base which was prepared with patterned paper and the twine portion of the Twine and Bow die set.

Happy Boo Day!

Today's Halloween card is for the ColourQ (cQc #312) Challenge.

I stamped the largest pumpkin from the Lawn Fawn So Thankful set, cut out with the matching So Thankful die and then colored with Copic Markers. I cut the tag from a Reverse Confetti Quick Panel card using the Pretty Pink Posh Stitched Duo 3 die. The sentiment was already printed on the card. I added a piece cut with a die from the Papertrey Ink Tag Sale #8 and a small strip both from the Glitz Design Raven pad from a couple of years ago. It is still one of my favorite Halloween paper pads. I added a couple of ghosts cut with the Memory Box Swirling Ghosts Die and then sponged around the edges with Soft Stone ink. After wrapping black Hemptique cord around the tag, I added the ghosts and pumpkin images using foam tape. The tag was attached to the patterned paper background with craft foam.

Today's card features a tag for the current Tag You're It Challenge (#21).

I stamped the coffee cup and top onto patterned papers and then cut out with the matching pieces from the Coffee Cozy Die set. Watercolor Heart Flower {Purple Onion Designs}

Today's card is a very colorful one. I am not big on techniques but after seeing this video by Laura Bassen I wanted to give it a go.

I used the watercolor on acetate technique using three different colors of Ranger Distress inks, Cracked Pistachio, Mustard Seed and Pickled Raspberry onto Ranger Watercolor paper. After it was dry, I cut a portion of it out with Pretty Pink Posh Stitched Duo 2 die. I then stamped the Purple Onion Designs Heart Flower onto it using My Favorite Things Black Licorice ink. I attached the watercolored piece to a white dry embossed background using dimensional tape. I kept the design simple, adding lime green Hemptique cord and a couple of tabs on the sides as the only embellishments.

Products: Purple Onion Designs stamp, PTI cs, Hemptique cord, Taylored Expressions embossing folder, Pretty Pink Posh die, Ranger Watercolor cs and inks, MFT ink
