Let it Snow

My Christmas in July is off to a rather feeble start but any Christmas cards I do this month is just that much less I will have to make last minute.

I stamped several images from the super cute C.C. Designs Build a Snowman set, then cut out with the matching dies. After coloring all with Copic markers, I assembled each snow person. I prepared the background by cutting linen cardstock with a stitched rectangle die onto which I also used a die from the Lawn Fawn Outside In Stitched Heart Stackables to create a cutout. I backed the cutout with patterned paper, stamped the sentiment using gala red ink and attached the images with foam diemensionals. I small red heart cut out with a die from the same set finished up a clean and simple Christmas card.

Products: C.C. Designs stamps and dies, Avery Elle dp, PTI cs, Marvy Snow Marker, Lawn Fawn die, Altenew and WPlus9 ink, Copic Markers
Copics: Snowman (male)-C00, C1, E30, E31, G000, G00, G02, T1, T3, T5, R22, R24; Snowman (female)-C00, C1, E30, E31, R22, R24, R27, E81

I am submitting this to the Christmas Kickstart Challenge #64.

Do you work on Christmas cards all year long?

Happy Meow-lloween 2

We are actually feeling a bit of fall in the air. Normally here in Alabama it is usually late October before the temperatures drop. It's a pleasant respite from the unrelenting heat we have been experiencing although I wish some rain would come along with it.

I stamped the cute Franken-kitty and Vampire kitty along with the fence image (x2) from the C.C. Designs Happy Meow-lloween set and cut out with the matching Meow-lloween Kitties die. After coloring all the images with Copic Markers, I stamped the sentiment onto a white cardstock strip. I used a combo of the Pretty Pink Posh Storybook 2 die and a stitched rectangle die to cut a background piece from black cardstock. I filled the frames of the storybook with a variety of patterned papers and then added the images and sentiment using foam tape for dimension.

Products: C.C. Designs stamps and dies, Doodlebug dp, PTI cs, Pretty Pink Posh and MFT dies, MFT ink, Copic Markers
Copics: Franken-kitty-YG0000, YG01, YG23, R20, C00, C1, C3, C5; Vampire Kitty-YR30, YR31,YR23, YR24, R20, C00, C1, C3, C5; Fence-W1, W2, W5

Thank you so much for stopping by. I know there are a lot of blogs out there and I am grateful that you spend time with me.

Boo to You!

Today's Halloween card is yet another one using the oh so cute C.C. Designs Happy Meow-lloween set. Actually all of my Halloween cards are done, I am just blogging them over several weeks. With a house on the market, I never know when my craft area will be shut down so I am trying to build up a cushion of projects to share.

I stamped one of the kitties and the pumpkin onto Neenah cardstock, cut out the matching Meow-lloween Kitties dies and then colored with Copic markers. I added a button with twine at the top of the pumpkin and also a spider cut with a die from the Paper Smooches Halloween Icon set. After preparing the watercolor cardstock background with a wash of Mustard Seed, Dried Marigold and Mowed Lawn distress ink I stamped the sentiment directly onto the panel. I cut it out with a stitched rectangle die and mounted to a patterned paper base using foam tape. The cat and pumpkin were attached to the panel with more foam tape for extra dimension. A few sequins finished it up.

Products: C.C. Designs, stamps and dies, Glitz Designs dp, Neenah, PTI and Ranger cs,  Doodlebug sequins, Hemptique twine, Ranger Distress, MFT and Simons Says ink, Copic Markers
Copics: Cat-C00, C1, C3, E81; Pumpkin-YR0000, YR20, YR23, YR24

Happy Meow-lloween

It's that time of year where I seem to bounce between Christmas, Fall and Halloween cards, intermingled with everyday type cards. Yesterday was Christmas. Today, it's Halloween's turn.

Back in the day, I never bought Halloween stamps because I was on the C.C. Designs/Sweet November design team and they always had the cutest Halloween images. Fast forward a few years later and I still don't buy a lot of them. Maybe one every year or two because I love to make Halloween cards but I really don't have that many people to send them to. I dread the day that the children I give to now outgrow them. The C.C. Designs Happy Meow-lloween set was one ( of the two!!) purchases made this year. I stamped the cat and broom  onto Copics X-press It cardstock, cut out with the matching Meow-lloween Kitties dies and then colored with Copic markers. I created the shaker using the Pretty Pink Posh Storyboard 5 die along with an MFT stitched rectangle die cut from Smoky Slate cardstock and then stamped the sentiment directly onto it. I created the background by loosely water coloring with the Purple #139 cake from a Kurtake Gansai Tambi set. The storybook top and water colored background were sandwiched together with foam tape with a few sequins from the Verve Hocus Pocus shaker mix in the bottom box. I glued a couple of the stars from the same mix onto the top box and then added the stamped images. After wrapping marigold twine around the panel, I attached it to a plain white card base.

Products: C.C. Designs stamps, Ranger Watercolor, Stampin' Up and PTI cs, Verve sequins, The Twinery twine, Pretty Pink Posh die, MFT die and ink, Kuretake Gansai Tambi watercolor, Copic Markers
Copics: Cat-E40, E41, E42, E44; V12, V15, V17, C00, C1, C3, C5; Broom-E30, E33, E35, E97, E99, YR30, YR31, YR23

I hope you are having a great weekend. Thanks for stopping by.

A Fintastic Friend

Hello! I am back again using a recently purchased stamp set. I haven't been buying a lot of stamps because I just have not had time to get inky with them. So after months and months of not buying anything I recently purchased from three different companies in one weekend. The promise to myself was that I had to use them as soon as received and I have managed to do that. Today's card features the new C.C. Designs Under the Sea set. I use to design for this company so I know how cute their stamps are!

I stamped the mermaid image onto Copics X-Press It card stock, colored with Copic markers and then fussy cut out. I then used Ranger Liquid Pearls to add to dimension to her pearls. To create the card background I used two sizes of Lil Inker Designs Stitched Circle dies to cut out "bubbles" from Bazzill textured card stock and then backed the cut outs with some Avery Elle patterned paper. I attached to the card base and then added a border using the Taylored Expressions Wave Border die along with a strip of patterned paper. The sentiment was stamped directly onto the card background using Blue Jay ink.

Products: C.C. Designs stamps, Fancy Pants and Avery Elle dp, PTI and Bazzill cs, Doodlebug sequins, Ranger Liquid Pearls, Lil Inker Designs and Taylored Expressions die, MFT and Simon Says ink, Copic Markers
Copics: Skin-E000, E00, E01, E13, R20; Hair-E50, Y21, E33, E35; Top-YG0000, YG21, YG23, YR01, YR12; Tail-B21, B23, B26; Pearls-W00, E81

I hope everyone is staying cool. I got extremely overheated on Monday and really haven't felt the same since. Be careful!

Christmas Tags and Footprints #11

Welcome to tag #11 of the Christmas Tags and Footprints series.

This year I thought it would be fun to give cozy socks for the females and warm work socks for the guys in the family who will be celebrating Christmas with us in addition to their big gift. Each set will have a handmade tag along with a small inexpensive gift (under $5) inside one of the socks.

I cut the two tags from chartreuse and white card stock using the Paper Smooches Tag Stitched Die. I stamped the snowman from the C.C. Designs Meoples Dress Up Snowman onto a piece cut with the matching C.C. Designs Snowman Outline Cutters. I also stamped the ribbon image from the same set and then colored both images with Copic Markers. I attached to the tag with dimensional dots and then added a paper ribbon on the corner cut with the Mama Elephant Dainty Bow die set. The sentiment from the Papertrey Ink Tag Its #8 set was stamped directly onto the tag and the two tags were tied together with burlap string.

And here it is attached to the socks:

Other Products:
PTI Stamper's Select White, Pure Poppy and Simply Chartreuse cs
May Arts Burlap String
Ranger Diamond Stickles
Memento Tuxedo Black ink
Simon Says Black ink
Copic Markers: BG70, BG0000, W00, W1, YR12, YR14, YG0000, YG01, YG13,  R22, R24, R27

C.C. Designs Review (and an announcement)

It's review time on the C.C. Designs Rubber Stamps blog and I am joining other members of the design team in showing you more projects using the October release stamps.

Using the tag from the Baggie and Tag Cutters I cut one tag from patterned paper and the second one from plain white card stock. For the plain tag, I used a very old stamp to stamp the shadow using Tim Holtz Antique Linen ink. I then used the two "merry" sentiments from the Christmas Blessing set using black and red inks. I stamped the lines by inking the edge of the smallest "merry" stamp and then stamping onto the background. I attached the two tags together with a clothespin from the Doodlebug Halloween Mini Clothespins set, slipping some Hemptique cording underneath first. After attaching the tag set to a panel cut from patterned paper from the Teresa Collins Santa's List pad, I then colored one of the penquins from the Holiday Penguins with Copic Markers and fussy cut out. I attached to the background panel with dimensional dots and added Ranger Diamond Stickles to the bell portion of the image for a bit of sparkle. I am submitting this card for the current Tag You're It #7 challenge.

Products: C.C. Designs stamps and Cutters, Lawn Fawn and Teresa Collins dp, PTI cs, Doodlebug Clothespin, Hemptique cord, MFT die, Simon Says ink, Copic Markers
Copics: C00, C1, N1, N3, N5, N7, W00, E81, R22, R24, R27, R59, Y21, Y26

My second card is also a tag based one using an image from the Vintage Winter set.  I cut the tag from Neenah Classic Crest Natural White cardstock with the tag from the Baggie and Tag Cutters. I stamped the cardinal onto it and then trimmed off the lower half. I cut another tag from some Making Memories patterned paper from my old scrapbook stash (circa 2009). After coloring the image with Copic Markers, I tied the two tags together with with May Arts ribbon anchored with a button. I added some Ranger Diamond Stickles for the "snow" portion of the image and then attached the tag combo to the card stock background. The sentiment from the Snarky Christmas set and was stamped and matted with Spellbinders Nestabilities.

Products: C.C. Designs stamps and Cutters, Making Memories dp, Neenah cs, PTI cs and button, Simon Says ink, Copic Markers
Copics: R35, R29, R59, Y11, Y15, N1, N3, N5, N7, E23, E25, E27

And now for the announcement. Today's post is my last as a design team member for C.C. Designs. I started out with the challenge team approximately 3 and half years ago then transitioned to the Design Team. Christine has decided to reset the team with a Design Team call. This has actually made a decision I have been struggling with for a while much easier. I will not be reapplying as I have felt for some time now that it was time for me to go. I hope you will apply for the call if you are interested. The images are adorable and fun to color. Here is the post to read about the requirements and to link up your submission.

2014 Christmas in July #12

Today's Christmas in July card #12 features a set of tags that I actually made last year for a feature on the C.C. Designs blog. I had these three leftover so I decided to use them on a card.

The tags were hand cut from Bazzill Marshmallow cardstock and then embossed with a Cuttlebug Embossing Folder  A matted patterned paper panel was attached to each tag and a button and ribbon snippet was added to the top. I stamped the three images from the C.C. Designs Sweet Penquins set, cut them out with Spellbinders Nestabilities and then colored with Copic Markers. Each tag was decorated with one of the images along with a Christmas icon using the C.C. Designs Christmas Accessories Cutters and Holly and Berry Cutters cut from American Crafts Glitter paper attached with dimensional dots. The sentiments from the AmyR Christmas Sentiments II set was stamped onto ticket shaped cardstock cut with the smallest shape from the Ticket Cutters set. The tags were finished up with Darice Sequins and Ruby Red Liquid Pearls for the holly berries. Since the tags were so detailed I just added a plain strip of patterned paper matted with Papertrey Ink New Leaf Cardstock onto the 3.75 x 7.5 inch card base. All the patterned paper came from the Doodlebug North Pole and Home for the Holidays pads.

Have a great weekend!
