Kway Teow Phad Thai
Sawadikaaaapppp...hehe.
Originate from thailand. Tried quite few times & family wants it for more.
Ingredients:
- 3 shallots, minced (bawang kecil, cincang)
- 3 garlics, chopped (bawang puith)
- 2 tbsp chili powder (cili serbuk)
- 50 gm sliced beef (hirisan daging)
- 100 gm firm tofu, cut (tauhu)
- Some water chesnut, optional (sengkuang cina)
- 300 gm bean sprout (taugeh)
- Some chinese chives (daun kuchai)
- 125 gm roasted peanuts, pounded coarsely (kacang tanah)
- 2 eggs, beat lightly
- 4 tbsp tamarind juice (air asam jawa)
- 3 tbsp fish sauce nampla (sos ikan)
- sugar & salt to taste
- 3 tbsp oil + more (minyak utk menumis)
- 500 gm kway teow noodles
How To:
1. In a wok, heat oil. Fry shallots & garlic over medium heat until fragrant.
2. Add noodles & stir until tender. Season with sugar, salt, fish sauce & tamarind juice. Stir well, then push the noodles to the side of teh wok.
3. Add 1 tbsp oil to the same wok, add beef sliced, tofu & chili powder. Saute until beef is done, toss them well with the noodles and push back to the side of the wok again .
4. Put 1 tbsp oil into the wok, pour in eggs & stir till done. Toss again with the noodles, add bean sprout & chinese chives for 1 min.
5. Transfer to individual plate & sprinkle with roasted peanuts.
