Inkspirational Challenges: Guest Designer - Garden

I'm thrilled to be guest designing for Inkspirational Challenges for the  month of June and it's time for the second challenge of the month. It's a lovely challenge with the word prompt of 'Garden'.

There's a reason why I chose this stamp, Penny Black's Unfolding, for the Garden challenge. I'm terrible at identifying flowers but these blooms look like peonies to me and... I will be getting my own flower bed full of peonies soon! Yay! I love peonies and I'm so excited to have some in my garden soon :) And yes, they will be pink ones ;) But as to my card, I stamped the image straight onto Ranger watercolour paper and coloured it with my watercolours. I then sponged some Distress Oxide ink in Bundled Sage onto the bottom of the card. I decided to heat emboss the sentiment (it says, loosely translated, 'Birthday Wishes' in Finnish) in white onto a strip of dark grey cardstock and attached it onto the card.

Kesäkuussa saan olla guest designer Inkspirational Challengesissä ja nyt alkavan haasteen teemana on puutarha. Valitsin tämän leiman (Penny Blackin Unfolding) korttiini, koska nuo kukat muistuttavat pioneja ja minä olen saamassa pionipenkin puutarhaani :) Mutta korttiini siis leimasin Unfolding-leiman suoraan korttipohjaan, jonka taittelin Rangerin vesiväripaperista. Leimakuvan väritin vesiväreillä ja alareunaan mustetin Distress Oxide -mustetta. Tekstileiman embossasin kartonkisuikaleelle ja kiinnitin korttiin.

Plumeria - Temppelipuu

Sometimes I really love colouring stamped images with my Copic Markers (mostly when it's going well.. ;D ) and this was one of those times. I really like this stamp by Stamplorations, it's called Precious Plumerias, and it was a joy to colour with the Copics. I didn't want to overcrowd the image so I simply stamped my sentiment (it says 'Congratulating you'), matted the panel onto cardstock and card base, and added some sequins.

Vesivärit ovat minulle jotenkin helpommat, mutta joskus on kiva värittää Copiceillakin (yleensä silloin, kun se sujuu... ;D ) ja tällä kertaa se oli sekä kivaa että sujui. Tämä leimakuva on Stamplorationsin Precious Plumerias ja se on niin nätti, etten viitsinyt siihen paljoa muuta härpäkettä laittaa, vain tekstileiman ja jokusen paljetin.  
(En muuten tiedä, onko 'plumeria' suomeksi temppelipuu mutta näin google kertoi, joten sillä mennään :D )

The Flower Challenge #29: Muistutus - Reminder

The Flower Challengen helmikuun haaste on puolessa välissä, mutta aikaa osallistua on vielä runsaasti! Tällä kertaa toivomme kukkakortteja uusimmilla leimoillasi tai stansseillasi. Sain tammikuussa lahjana Altenew'lta ihanan Billowing Blossoms -setin ja vaikka olen sillä jo pari korttia tätä ennen tehnyt, lasken sen edelleen suht uudeksi, joten tein sillä tämän kortin. Käyttämäni musteet ovat Hero Artsin ja Simon Says Stampin ja Dekoretten tekstileiman embossasin valkoisella tuohon banneriin. Sitten vain kiinnitys vaaleanharmaalle korttipohjalle.

The Flower Challenge's challenge for February is in full swing but there's still plenty of time to participate! The theme for this challenge is 'Use Your Latest Stamps or Dies' and please remeber to use floral stamps. I received this lovely stamp set called 'Billowing Blossoms' as a free gift from Altenew in January and I have made a couple of cards with it earlier but it is still one of my latest stamps so I used it for my reminder card. I used inks by Hero Arts and Simon Says Stamp, and heat embossed my sentiment in white (the sentiment says 'On Your Special Day').

Kosmoskukka - Cosmos flower

Tähän onnittelukorttiin käytin kukkaa Honey Bee Stampsin Cosmos-setistä ja väritin sen Copiceilla. Taustalle laitoin hieman kermanväristä kartonkia ja kuviopaperia, jonka reunan stanssasin Penny Blackin Curved Stitch -stanssilla. Lisäksi Dekoretten tekstileima.

For this birthday card I used a flower from Honey Bee Stamps set 'Cosmos'. I coloured it with my Copics. For the background I used some cream coloured cardstock and a piece of patterned paper that I die cut with 'Curved Stitch' die by Penny Black. I stamped my sentiment in black ink.

Mallin mukaan - CASEing a card

Inkspirational-haasteblogissa on menossa hauska haaste, jossa pyydetään CASEamaan jotain omaa aikaisempaa korttia tai jonkun muun tekemään korttia. Päätin CASEta Desert Diva Hannelie Besterin kaunista korttia, alla näet sekä Hannelien kortin että minun versioni siitä. Omaan korttiini käytin Ellen Hutsonin Mondo Sakura -leimaa, jonka väritin Altenew'n vesiväreillä. Stanssaukset Hero Artsin suorakulmioilla. Dekoretten tekstileiman embossasin valkoisella.

There's a fun challenge going on at Inkspirational challenge blog, we're asked to CASE a card, either our own or someone else's. I thought it would be fun to CASE someone else so I chose this gorgeous card by Hannelie Bester from Desert Diva (you'll find both Hannelie's card and my version of it below). For my card, I used the 'Mondo Sakura' stamp by Ellen Hutson which I coloured with Altenew watercolours. I die cut the rectangles with Hero Arts dies and heat embossed the sentiment in white (it says 'On your special day' in Finnish).

The Flower Challenge #26: Muistutus - Reminder

The Flower Challengen haaste #26 on meneillään ja kukkakortti johonkin erityiseen tapahtumaan olisi hakusessa. Itse tein kihlakortin. Embossasin Penny Blackin Sweetheart-leiman valkoisella ja väritin sen Zigeillä. Taustaa väritin sinisellä Distress Stainilla. Leimasin sydämen sisälle tekstileiman ja stanssasin paneelin Penny Blackin Stitched Square and Circles -setin stanssilla. Paneelin kiinnitin siniseen korttipohjaan.

Challenge #26 of The Flower Challenge is in full swing and we're looking for floral cards made for a special occasion. My card is an engagement card. I heat embossed Penny Black's 'Sweetheart' stamp in white and coloured it with my Zig Markers, and added the blue in the background with Distress Stain. I stamped my sentiment (it says 'To The Engaged Couple' in Finnish) inside the floral heart shaped wreath before die cutting the panel with a die from the 'Stitched Square and Circles' set by Penny Black. I attached the panel to light blue card base.

The Flower Challenge #26

Tänään pyörähtää käyntiin uusi haaste The Flower Challengessä ja aiheena on 'A Special Occasion' eli jotain erityistä tilaisuutta (syntymäpäivät, häät, kihlajaiset...) varten tehtyä korttia kaivataan. Itse tein syntymäpäiväkortin, johon käytin Penny Blackin ihanaa Crimson Blush -leimaa. Leimasin sen suoraan vesivärikartongista taittelemalleni korttipohjalle ja väritin vesiväreillä. Tekstileiman leimasin Delicatan kultamusteella. Muutama kultaroiske perään ja kortti oli valmis.

It's time for a new challenge over at The Flower Challenge and this time we're looking for cards made for 'A Special Occasion' (birthday, wedding - you name it!). I made a birthday card with this gorgeous rose stamp by Penny Black called 'Crimson Blush'. I stamped it directly onto the card blank that I folded from watercolour cardstock and coloured with watercolours. I stamped my sentiment ('Congratulating you' in Finnish) with golden Delicata ink and added a few golden splatters with my watercolour brush to finish the card.

Tuoksuherne - Sweet Pea

Minulla oli eilen treffi-ilta askartelupöytäni ja uusien tarvikkeiden kanssa ja tuloksena syntyi tämä kortti :) Nuo ihanat kukkaset ovat Altenew'n Sweetest Peas -setistä ja väritin ne Altenew'n vesiväreillä. Kovasti päätin, etten aio Altenew'n vesivärejä hankkia, koska vesivärejä minulla on mutta... Noissa vesiväreissä on vain niin loistavia kukkavärejä, että pyörsin päätökseni ja hankin ne :D Taustan paneelin tähän stanssasin Penny Blackin Stitched Stackers -stanssilla ja roiskin siihen vähän kultaspraytä. Dekoretten tekstileiman embossasin My Favorite Thingsin stanssilla stanssatulle kaitaleelle. Sitten vain kiinitys korttipohjaan ja se oli siinä.

I had a date night last night - with my craft table and some new supplies! :D When I first saw that Altenew had released watercolours I swore I would not buy them because I have watercolours already but... Those watercolours simply have some really good colours for flowers so I humbly ate my words and got them for myself :D So for this card, I used stamps from Altenew's 'Sweetest Peas' set and watercoloured them with the Altenew watercolours. I die cut the white panel with Penny Black's 'Stitched Stackers' die and splattered some gold spray on it. I heat embossed my sentiment (it says 'For Friend' in Finnish) on a strip that I die cut with a My Favorite Things die.

Usko unelmiin - Believe in your dreams

Kannustuskortti tällä kertaa. Leimakuvana on ihana Purple Onion Designsin pupu, jonka väritin Zigeillä ja leikkasin irti. Taustalle mustetin sydämiä Create a Smilen sapluunan läpi Distress Oxidella ja stanssasin irti Penny Blackin Stitched Stackers -stanssilla. Lopuksi vielä tekstileima ja jokunen paljetti.

I made this card using the sweetest bunny by Purple Onion Designs, I coloured her with my Zig Markers and fussy cut her out. I made the background by sponging some Distress Oxide ink through a Create a Smile stencil before die cutting the panel with 'Stitched Stackers' die by Penny Black. I stamped my sentiment (it says 'Believe in (your) dreams' in Finnish) and added some sequins before attaching the whole panel to my cardbase.

Äitienpäivänä - On Mother's Day

Tein äidilleni äitienpäiväkortin Altenew'n Build-a-Flower-sarjan ruusuleimalla, jonka leimailin Altenew'n musteilla. Äitienpäivä-aiheista tekstileimasinta minulla ei ole (tai en ainakaan löytänyt...), joten ajattelin, että tämä Dekoretten tekstileima sopii hyvin myös. Taustalle hieman  kuviopapereita ja muutama paljetti, ja kortti oli valmis.

This is a Mother's Day card I made for my Mum. I used Altenew's stamp Build-a-Flower: Rose which I stamped using Altenew's inks. The sentiment says 'A Hug for You', I didn't have anything exactly for Mother's Day so I thought this would be good also. I added some patterned papers to the background, I die cut the grey one with Simon Says Stamp's 'Curved Edge' die although it's not really visible from the behind the rose. I embellished my card with some sequins.

Daaliat - Dahlias

WPlus9-kortti tällä kertaa, leimakuvana Beautiful Bouquet: Dahlia. Väritin sen Zigeillä ja mustetin hieman Distress Oxidea reunoihin. Kehystin kuvan MFT:n stanssilla stanssatulla kuviolla, leimasin tekstin, lisäsin paljetit ja ennen korttipohjaan liimaamista lisäsin taustalle Lawn Fawnin paperia.

I love this stamp, it's 'Beautiful Bouquet: Dahlia' by WPlus9. For this card, I coloured it with my Zig markers and sponged some Distress Oxide ink on the edges. I framed the panel with a die cut (MFT), stamped my sentiment ('To a dear friend' in Finnish) and added some clear sequins. Before adhering the panel to the cardbase, I added some Lawn Fawn patterned paper behind it.

Kukkakärry - Flower cart

Nopsa ja yksinkertainen kortti taas. Leimakuva on Penny Blackin Friendship Flowers -setistä, väritin sen Zigeillä. Tekstileima on Dekoretten ja paneelin stanssasin Penny Blackin Antique Frame -setin stanssilla. Mustetin paneelin reunoja hieman Distress Oxide -musteella. Taustalle kuviopaperia ja paneeli kohotarroilla kiinni.

Another quick and simple card from me. I used a stamp from the Penny Black set 'Friendship Flowers' for this one, and coloured it with my Zig markers. I die cut the panel with 'Antique Frame' die (Penny Black) and sponged some Distress Oxide ink to the edges. The sentiment says 'Sunshine to your day' in Finnish. For the background I used some patterned paper and adhered my panel with foam adhesives.

Liilat kukkaset - Purple flowers

Tein kortin muutamaan haasteeseen. Penny Black Saturday Challengessä on valinnaisena optiona käyttää lempileimaa Penny Blackiltä ja minulla ne on yleensä ottaen kukkaleimat :) Päätin käyttää tätä Penny Blackin Demure-leimaa, koska en ole sitä hetkeen käyttänyt ja mielestäni se on kaunis. Väritin leimakuvan Polychromoksilla ja sudin ympärille vähän väriä Zigillä. Stanssasin paneelin ja korttipohjan PB:n Antique Frame -stansseilla (myöskin lempparit!), lisäsin tekstileiman ja jokusen timantin. Kortista tuli yllättävän liila, harvemmin yleensä liilaa käytän vaikka siitä pidänkin, mutta viime aikoina sitä on jostain syystä eksynyt kortteihin suhteellisen paljon. Hassua..

I made a card for a few challenges in mind. The optional theme in Penny Black Saturday Challenge is to use your favourite Penny Black stamp - my favourites are usually floral stamps! I chose to use this one because I haven't used it in a while and I think it's gorgeous! The stamp is 'Demure' by Penny Black, I coloured the image with my Polychromos pencils and added a bit of colour to the background with my Zig marker. I die cut the panel and the cardbase with 'Antique Frame' dies by Penny Black (also a favourite of mine!), stamped the sentiment ('Congrats' in Finnish) and added some rhinestones. Funny thing is, I like the colour purple but I'm not usually comfortable using it (dunno why) but it seems that lately, I've been using it a lot! Go figure...

Aurinkoa päivääsi - Sunshine to your day

Vaihteeksi jotain muutakin kuin kukkia... ;) Leimakuvat ovat Clearly Besottedin Bird Bath -setistä, väritys Polychromoksilla. Paneelin mustetin Distress Oxideilla ja roiskin perään "pakolliset" vesitipat. Kehykset stanssasin MFT:n stanssilla ja taustapaperi on Lawn Fawnia, tekstileima Dekoretten.

Well, surprise surprise, I made a non-floral card! ;D The cute birdies and their bath is from the 'Bird Bath' set by Clearly Besotted, I coloured the images with my Polychromos pencils. I sponged some Distress Oxide inks on the panel and die cut a frame for it with an MFT die. The sentiment says 'Sunshine to your day'. The gorgeous background paper is by Lawn Fawn.

Kevään kukkasia - Spring flowers

Poikakorttien jälkeen palataan taas kukkakortteihin :) Väritin tämän Penny Blackin Softly-leiman Polychromoksilla ja stanssasin irti Antique Frame -stanssilla. Tein leimakuvalle "kehyksen" stanssaamalla paneelin vielä kokoa pienemmällä stanssilla, kehykset kiinnitin suoraan pohjaan ja keskiosan laitoin koholle tarrapaloilla. Sitä ennen leimasin Dekoretten tekstileiman. Taustalla on Lawn Fawnin paperia ja koristeina muutama paljetti.

After a couple of boy cards, I'm back to floral cards :) For this card, I used 'Softly' stamp by Penny Black, and I coloured the image with my Polychromos pencils. I die cut the panel with 'Antique Frame' die and decided to create a frame by cutting the image again, this time with a smaller die from the same set. I stamped my sentiment ('Happy Birthday' in Finnish), used Lawn Fawn patterned paper for the background, attached my frame flat to the card base and the middle part of the image I raised with some foam adhesives. Lastly I added a few sequins.

Ruusu - Rose

Innostuin eilen värittelemään yömyöhään ja väritin Polychromoksilla tämän Simon Says Stampin ruusun ja lehdet. Sain niistä tänään sitten tehtyä tämän synttärikortin ja pitkästä aikaa vieläpä ympyräkortin. Ympyrät stanssailin Heron stansseilla, paperit ovat Lili of the Valley'n, tekstileima Dekoretten. Ruusun kiinnitin tarrapaloilla koholle ja koristeeksi laitoin jokusen paljetin.

I got a bit carried away colouring with my Polychromos pencils last night and coloured well into the night (I shouldn't have, I know - and feel! - that now.. ;D ). I ended up colouring this rose and leaves from Simon Says Stamp, the rose is from the set 'More Spring Flowers' and the leaves are from 'Spring Flowers'. I had a bit of time today so I made a card with them, a circle card at that, haven't done those in a while. I did all the circle die cutting with Hero Arts dies, the patterned papers are by Lili of the Valley. I stamped my sentiment ('Congrats' in Finnish) and added a few sequins as embellishments. I attached the rose with foam adhesives for a bit of extra interest.

Synttärikorttia Penny Blackin leimalla, tämän nimi on Flower Cascade ja väritin se taas Zigeillä. Stanssasin paneelin PB:n Antique Frame -setin stanssilla ja taustan paperiin leimasin niin ikään PB:n Indian Wheel -leimalla. Tekstileima on Dekoretten ja koristeiksi jokunen paljetti.

Another birthday card I made for my stash. The stamp I used is 'Flower Cascade' by Penny Black, I coloured it with my Zig Markers (again! They will probably grow into my hands at the rate I'm using them.. :D ). I die cut the panel with 'Antique Frame' die by Penny Black, stamped my sentiment ('Warm Congratulations' in Finnish) and added some sequins. For the background, I stamped 'Indian Wheel' by Penny Black onto some coloured paper with Simon Says Stamp ink.

Kihlaparille - On your engagement

Tein kihlakortin varastoon Penny Blackin A Rose -leimalla. Väritin leimakuvan taas Zigeillä ja stanssasin paneelin irti. Kehykset stanssasin MFT:n stanssilla, Dekoretten tekstileiman leimasin vellumbannerille ja koristeeksi laitoin Lawn Fawnin stanssilla stanssatun sydämen. Taustapaperi on Lili of the Valley'n.

I made an engagement card for my stash using the Penny Black stamp 'A Rose'. I coloured the image with my Zig Markers, die cut it with Hero Arts die and added a frame to it (an MFT die). I stamped my sentiment ('To the engaged couple' in Finnish) on a vellum banner and added a single heart (a Lawn Fawn die) as embellishment. The patterned paper is by Lili of the Valley.

Pieniä kukkia - Tiny flowers

Joskus tuntuu, että kortit tekevät itse itsensä. Niin ainakin kävi näiden korttien kanssa :) Minua laiskotti enkä halunnut hurjan paljoa värittää, joten nappasin pienen leimakuvan, tässä tapauksessa tuon Waffle Flowerin kukkakärryn ja väritin sen Zigeillä. Taustalle laitoin palasen kartonkia, jonka mustetin Distress Oxideilla ja roiskin vähän vettä perään. Kartongille tein kehykset stanssaamalla MFT:n stanssilla valkoisesta kartongista piparkakkureunuksen. Taustalle hieman Lawn Fawnin ihanaa ruutupaperia ja siihen tekstileima. Koristeeksi muutama enamel dotsi. Ja koska ensimmäinen kortti oli niin nopea, tein toisen perään :D Toiseen korttiin käytin Paper Smoochesin kukkia mutta muuten menin samalla kaavalla.

Sometimes it feels like cards make themselves. That's what happened with these cards :) I was feeling lazy and didn't want to colour too much but still wanted to make something, so I grabbed this flower cart by Waffle Flower and coloured it with my Zig Markers. For the background, I sponged some blue Distress Oxide ink on a piece of cardstock and added a few splatters of water to it. I made a frame for it by die cutting white cardstock with an MFT die. For the background, I used some gorgeous gingham patterned paper by Lawn Fawn and stamped my sentiment ('Birthday Wishes'). As embellishments, I used some enamel dots. And as the first card was so quick to make, I made a second one while I was at it :D This time I just used the sweet flowers by Paper Smooches but otherwise kept the card similar.

Narsissit - Daffodils

Keväisellä linjalla jatketaan :) Kortin kimppu on koottu Simon Says Stampin Friendship Blooms -setin kukilla, jotka väritin Zigeillä. Kehyksen stanssasin MFT:n stanssilla, taustapaperi on Lawn Fawnia ja tekstileima Dekoretten. Lisäksi vielä jokunen enamel dotsi.

How about a spring bouquet? :) The flowers in this bouquet are stamped and die cut with the 'Friendship Blooms' stamps and dies by Simon Says Stamp and coloured with my Zig Markers. The frame is die cut with an MFT die, the background paper is by Lawn Fawn and the sentiment, stamped on a banner die cut with an MFT die as well, says 'Congrats' in Finnish.
