Little Halloween Finishes

I have two little Halloween finishes.

The first one is from Just Cross Stitch.  October 2013, I believe. I didn't have the button called for, nor could I find one similar after doing a quick internet search.  So...I made one. I cut a tiny triangle from basswood, drilled two holes and painted it.  Looks good to me! I will sew it on as I'm doing the finishing.

Can't wait to get these finished for the bowl!!

I got the injection in my thumb last week. No pain now, but it is still "clicking", and that should go away soon.  If it happens again, surgery may be the next solution. But, I'll cross that bridge when I need to!

Until next time, take care!

Three Little Pumpkins

Another small finish for the bowl.  Even though it's a little one, it seemed to take forever to stitch...I guess it was the monotony of so much black.  But, I really do love it, and can't wait to see what fabrics I choose to finish it with!  This is a really old piece of Hardanger that has been in my stash a very long time.  It is more of a rust color, but the lighting makes it look more orange.  I stitched just a portion of the design from the magazine.

In several posts back I mentioned my thumb that is a "trigger finger/thumb".  Well, for the past week or so it locks and I can't get it to move. When I wake up it is very stiff and hurts if I try to move it. I just let it be and by about mid-day it is a tiny bit moveable.  My appointment is next week and I can't wait!!

Until next time...take care!

A Bit of Trip Stitching

We have just returned from a 2 week Alaskan cruise.  The weather was absolutely gorgeous! We had rain for about 2 hours while we were on land and it rained one day at sea.  It was nice during the day but the nights were very cool, especially with the wind on deck. So...while on the ship, I found some quiet spots and did some stitching!  I stitched the Santa, and got most of Halloween done.  I put the last few stitches in last night on the flag design.  The light was very bright when I got these pics and the fabric is a little washed out.  Colors are really warmer/darker. I don't stitch on aida often, but for trips, it is wonderful!!

This is called Flag City and the original has Flag City stitched where I put Old Glory.  I had seen it sometime back on a blog or somewhere that had Old Glory instead and liked it better.
EDIT:  OOPS...I see an away waste knot near the "z".  I need to remove it and insert another picture!!!

Has it really been a year?

Wow...it has been a year since I posted last! I have been busy! I've been stitching, though. Either cross stitch, knitting or crocheting. Always have a project or two or three (or more!) going at all times. Have made lots of items for Project Linus and Operation Gratitude. I still meet weekly at the local library with knit/crochet group and a smaller group of us meets weekly for coffee, stitching and chatting. I've also spent lots (but not enough) of time in CA with my granddaughter. She is growing so fast and will turn 2 next month! I have pics to share of some finishes, but haven't figured how to post them from my iPad, so will have to do it from my PC for now... Will be back soon with pics!

Post edited to add pics:

A Few More Finishes

Here are a few more finishes.

This canvas piece was stitched for DD and SIL.  Due to our move in 2013, it wasn't framed and sent for Halloween that year.  I did get it framed and sent for 2014!  I'm actually stitching another right now to keep with the extra thread that was left over.  A really fun piece!

This was finished for DD and SIL as as ornament in 2014 even though it was stitched in 2013.

 Christmas Cheer Santa (Jim Shore)
Mill Hill Kit
c 2013
8/28/2013 - 9/11/2013

This was stitched for my sweet baby girl for her first Christmas.  I had the hardest time trying to decide what to stitch.  But, I was going through my patterns and this popped out and it was absolutely the perfect one!  I love the way it turned out.
 A Child is Born
The Sampler Girl
c. 2006
11/30/2014 - 12/5/2014

 The back:

This is the 2nd time to stitch this cute design.  Had done it for DD and SIL several years ago, and had thread left over so stitched it to keep!  Like getting 2 for 1!  I was not able to find the "correct" peppermint buttons, so I had to make my own.  Used a dowel and cut disks, and drilled the tiniest of holes and painted.  Not perfect, but not too bad either! Another fun stitch!

c. 2009
10/8/2014 - 12/8/2014

I think that gets me up to date through 2014.  Like I said earlier, not much done except for knitting and crocheting.

Thanks for stopping by!
