Lavender Sachets and OPAM

Finally took a photo of the finished lavender sachets.
Twenty sachets tied up in bundles of four
ready to be given as little Christmas gifts.
Plus my mini pop-up thread bin.

Twenty one little finishes this month.
Thanks to Peg and Kris for keeping us inspired.

Friday Night Sew-In

This is the second FNSI for November. Somehow I missed the first one!
I got an early start on Thursday when I filled some lavender
sachets with my homegrown and dried lavender.
Friday night I started stitching the sachets closed.
I continued on Saturday at a stitching day with a group I'm in -
the Chit Chat Crafters. I made this! Can you guess what it is?
 It's a mini pop-up thread bin.
It's to go with the sewing set I'm making.
Just one more thing to be made and the set will be complete.
Thanks to Wendy at Sugarlane Designs for hosting us.
You can see what other got up to here.

FNWF and A First Prize!

Friday night Noel and I went down to my Mum and Dad's to have fish and chips for tea. The shop near them has the best fish and chips. We've been going there for nearly 40 years and it's still the same man running it with his family!

My plan was to work on my Christmas stitchery while there but I
left my glasses at home! Hence, no stitching was done!
So I joined the ladies in the Northern Hemisphere on Saturday and stitched
along with them while binge watching Alias Grace on Netflix.
This project is slowly coming along.
Thanks to Chez at Gone Stitchin' for being such a lovely hostess.
Today, Noel, Nelson and I went to the Whittlesea Agricultural Show. I had entered my Double Wedding ring quilt and got such a surprise to see I had won first prize. Over all the years I have entered quilts, this is the first time I have ever got a first. I've had many 2nd and 3rd prizes. So, needless to say, I was very excited!

October OPAM And A Catch Up!

 Two finishes for October.
Baby Madelyn's quilt.
 Sewing bag.
Thanks to Peg and Kris for keeping us inspired.
We had a couple of birthdays in October.
Nelson turned 18 on the 22nd.
My baby is so grown up now.
Bought himself a new car and now just waiting to get his license.
Two days later, Austin celebrated his 20th birthday.
October also saw the North of the Yarra Quilters exhibition.
I entered my Double Wedding Ring quilt.
A new generation has started quilting in our family.
This is Harmony, my 7 year old great niece.
With the help of Grandma,
Harmony made her first quilt.

As convenor of the quilt show, it was lovely that I was able
to present Harmony with her certificate and prize.
Harmony has been invited to exhibit
her quilt at next year's Showcase!
I had a win on The Red Boot Quilt Company's facebook page.
Thank you Toni for my lovely prize.
To finish up, here is a photo of our favourite young people!
Mitchell and Steph, Nelson, Paris and Austin.
