Friday Night Sew-In and Wombats!

Last night I worked on one of the stitcheries for our next
Tilda Lovers Club Stitchalong. We are getting the stitcheries
ready for when we start the stitchalong next week. Managed to get a bit done while watching Paint Your Wagon.
I've never watched it before and I really enjoyed it.

Thank you to Wendy from Sugarlane Designs for hosting us.
You can see what others got up to here.
This morning I was sitting in the lounge having my cuppa
and something caught my eye. A mother wombat and her baby
came up from the creek to the top of our driveway.
They then went through the fence into next door.
We often have wombats come through at night
(and make escape holes for Rex!) but we don't
usually see them at 9 o'clock in the morning.

We had a lot of rain overnight.
Maybe that's why she was so late bringing the baby up.
This is the bridge next to our place.
The Diamond Creek is now a "river"!
That tree leaning in the water is usually above the water line.
This photo was taken on the bridge.

A Surprise Gift and OPAM For September!

On Wednesday, we found a lovely surprise in our letterbox.
 A Community Jar of Joy!
There is a group on Facebook who have started dropping
jars of joy at houses. The idea is you (if you want to)
then refill a jar and pass one onto another stranger to brighten their day.

This is the post they put up when they dropped our jar into
the letterbox. And why mention "Where's Wally"?
Can you see Wally on the sign? Shops and houses around
Diamond Creek have Where's Wally pictures in their
windows for children to find. As you can't see our windows from
the road, we put ours on our MacDonald's Patch sign.

Haha. Our letterbox is now their cover photo!
This card was in the jar, along with some biscuits,
a coffee sachet and tea bag.
Maybe you could do this where you live.
Here is the link to the Community Jar of Joy page.
Now for my OPAM report. Six tea towels.
Glamorous gloves.
Folding shopping bag.
So that's 8 finishes for September.

Thanks to Kris for keeping us inspired.

A little side story.
My lovely friend Jennifer of Elefantz recently
told me she couldn't read my blog. Her Nortons security
was blocking my blog telling her it was a dangerous website!
Very strange as Jennifer has been reading my blog for years.
Anyway, I submitted a review of my url to Nortons.
This is their response - "Based on your recommendation and
after careful evaluation of the Web content submitted,
a Web Content Analyst has recategorised this URL as Personal Sites.
I wonder what they had me classified as
and why it was changed to that!

Catching Up

I forgot to share two small finishes from a couple of weeks ago.

Our Tilda Lovers Club challenge was to decorate a tea towel.
I couldn't find any suitable where I was shopping but picked up
these two hand towels instead. Into the gift box they go.
Saturday was a big day when our family home went up for auction.
It will be 48 years in September since we moved there.
So after 48 years, there is now a lot of "stuff"
to pack up/give away/throw away!
Mum is very excited to be moving into her new home.

All Set For Winter!

Noel has been working hard and has the
wood shed filled to the brim ready for Winter.
There's even an overflow and more to come!
It's getting closer to lighting the first fire of the year!

Lavender!

Saturday afternoon Noel and I popped around to a friend's place so I could cut some of her lavender.
After we'd cut this lot, you couldn't even tell we had
taken any the bush was so full!
Tied up in bundles. I'll be able to use the lavender
for some nice homemade smelly things!
Hanging in on side of Mitchell's wardrobe to dry. One thing having boys, they don't need lots of wardrobe space. This side also stores all the Christmas things.
When Noel was watering the garden the other evening, he saw this and thought it was a rock. It was actually a baby Tawny Frog Mouth sitting in the garden. He was gone the next morning, hopefully collected by it's mother.

FWB Swap, A Thank You and a Rotten Fox!

These packages are all ready to post off to my partner in our Friends With Benefits Swap. So look out in your letterbox Cheryll! Here it finally comes!

I forgot to give a special thank you to Melody of The House on the Side of the Hill. I was the lucky winner of one of her recent Teddy Bear's Picnic giveaways. It is a copy of Jenny of Elefantz's Circles of Life quilt. So thank you Melody and thank you also to Jenny for donating this gorgeous pattern.

A rotten fox has been hanging around again. Mitchell saw it yesterday morning and this morning I watched it walk across in front of the lounge room window. I managed to get a photo of it at the top of the drive. I don't know if it's the same one who took my girls last month. Look at it just looking at me! How rude!!!
