My favorite week....changed

This is the week 

that my sweetie and I

celebrate our birthdays...

yes, 2 Leos in the same house...

stop snickering, 

I know you are....

yes, both of us fit in the same domicile.

yes, our egos get checked at the door,

yes, we each own one mirror....in the baths.

There are so many ways to tease Leos..

we are known for a healthy, if not inflated, ego

we are known for our pride of self

and yes, the two of us have been married before.....

several times...

What is different here is that we are all of that...

and understand the other person's needs pretty darn well...

Thus,

my 

sweetie

sent 

me;

of course, things happen....

and the person at the receiving end of the flower order

may not exactly understand what you are trying to 

say....

My son is a dear, too!

(human type)

my favorite magazine came too...

(pay no attention to the eyeglasses)

And, I managed to get my house in order

before out of town guests arrived...

and then,

it happened....

darkness...

quiet booming in my ears....

the click, click, click of the battery powered clock....

rain,

hail,

sideways rain,

more hail,

thunder.....

a flash...

BANG!

I jumped, caught my breath, and sighed....

we were powerless....

really powerless....

supreme quiet....

still the rain, hail, thunder.....

and a different sort of bang,

more of a thud...

loud and close by...

Well,

a neighbor had an oak come through their roof.

No mere twig, this....at least 4 feet in diameter at 

it's base....

The split level was now true to it's name....

right where the single story meets the 2 stories...

whoa!

I feel lucky.

I love you....

more than you can imagine....

more than I thought myself capable....

more than our years will allow us....

more than chocolate....

bread....

coffee.....

More today than yesterday.

Apparently...

I am not supposed to venture forth today....

My horoscope says;

It's a good day to pull back from the unknown

Well...

no one really "gets" me....

so,

I pretty much should stay in bed or

the recliner (opps, don't have one...)

all day.

one I don't think I'll start right here...

but suffice to say that my pride

is not a good thing to mess with...

it frightens me sometimes.

Especially when all of a sudden,

out of no where

something comes up that

Rocks my boat....

Favorite things......

I am spoiled beyond belief.
My husband makes my coffee EVERY morning.
He meets me at the bottom of the stairs, smiling....and hugs me, kisses me and tells me he loves me, and asks (as though, he doesn't know) if I would like a cup o' joe.
"Yes" says I.
And off we go...
He to the coffee station, in our smaller than the average kitchen, and I stumble to the living room, hoping to wake sometime this century.
Soon, really soon, he rounds the corner with a steaming cup of heaven, and sweetly deposits it within reach, but not too close, as I am clumsy before noon.
I love all this attention.
I am a Leo after all.
Eight O' clock coffee (brand) is the freaking best. We buy the beans and grind them every morning. We are so adamant about this, that we take our own "coffee stash" with us when ever we travel.
Did I say that I am spoiled?
I love roses. I really love yellow roses, that climb. These are the first that I have picked this year. They smell like sweet butter.
I love Honey. Not in my coffee, but in my tea.
I love spring, not just because it puts an end to winter, but because things start to grow again. Take this Basil for instance, it is so fragrant that I can smell it as soon as I come down the stairs. Summer is on the way and basil will be growing like crazy in my garden. What is better than a fresh ensalada of tomato, mozzarella, basil, olive oil, and balsamic vinegar?
I love my life.....

Angels......

Angels have been placed in my life.
I am absolutely sure of this.
Really.
I have felt that my grandmother Bess has always been my "guardian angel". But this is different. I have people, alive and breathing, that gently cruise in and out of my life, with regularity, providing me with curiosity, love, serenity, adventure, etc.. Actually all of the things that make life worth living. Interesting people. People with lives so different from my own, that I am intrigued. It is like God's little treat, just for me. I wake up these days just thinking "What is in store for me today?". And, I am almost never bored. This is an important aspect of this phenomenon.
Leos, of which I am one, really, really hate to be bored. We make mischief when we are bored, and that is almost never the good kind of mischief.
This "turning 50" has been the best year of my life. I am so grateful for the opportunity to see things differently. To appreciate the quiet small aspects of life that give it meaning. So grateful.....
