The Sound Boxes
A blue wooden box containing 6 cylinders; each cylinder makes a different sound, varying from loud to soft. A red box containing 6 cylinders which match the sounds in the blue box. The cylinders are grasped in the hand and shook twice to hear a clear sound. Each exercise is done on a table.

Exercise:

• Familiarise the child with handling the material
• Match the 2 most contrasting pairs using the auditory sense
• When child is ready, match all pairs
• Grading the sounds: select one box and grade the sounds from loudest to softest or vice versa

Montessori Monday

Today we tried writing on sand for the first time. We used just simple melamine plate (as it should be used only to than and not or eating as we are told by producers) and white sand for aquarium, which we still have after last modification in our fishtank. Yet our letters are chaotic but we are just starting. Beside writing in sand, the fingerpaints are perfect.

Montessori work - Movable alphabet

After a "snake game" we had a session with language material. The movable alphabet has recently been place on our Montessori shelf and Igor had a chance to work with it today. He constructed a few words from it. Unfortunately the movable alphabet hasn't got the proper box for its storage as I could not gather myself and cut it out. We used words and pictures form pink reading material that you can find that post. The whole pink material can be found here.

Środowe układanki

Na Ukrainie kupiliśmy kilka interesujących zabawek edukacyjnych. Jedną z nich są układanki w formie węża o wdzięcznej nazwie "Змійка" - дари природи. Co w dosłownym tłumaczeniu znaczy "Żmijka" - dary przyrody. Na obrazkach są przedstawione owoce warzywa i grzyby. Możemy ćwiczyć nazewnictwo, a także jak we wszystkich puzzlach dopasowywanie graficzne.
