Ungodliness
I know.
I don't like the word either.
But part of my Soul Boot Camp is all about that.
And it's not in the ways I've typically thought about the word.
"Yea, COME UNTO CHRIST,
and be perfected in HIM,
and DENY yourselves of all ungodliness..."
(Moroni 10:32)
Wait.
I thought this post was about "ungodliness".
Well, it is...kind of.
I recently noticed a cross reference to this verse...
"I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that ye PRESENT YOUR BODIES A LIVING SACRIFICE (but that sounds like work), holy (HOLY), acceptable (ACCEPTABLE) unto God, which (oh, by the way) is your reasonable service." (Romans 12:1)
Just think about it for a little bit.
What in my life is ungodly?
What do I need to deny myself?
So that I can present myself holy...and acceptable.
There are a lot of things changing in my head.
So needed.
So finally.
But, for now, I have to get THIS soul to bed...
Boot Camp starts early again tomorrow morning.

Excellent insight. Thanks for sharing this.
Lots to think about now! I'm glad that you're learning a lot from your boot camp this week! i need this too. You need to write a book about how this boot camp works!!! Love ya!
I need your thoughts so much right now. I'm "working" on some things and your post made me cry. Guess it was for me. Thank you.
You are such an inspiration Laurel! This is a good motivation for me to ACT on the things I know I could delete from my life.
How random, Romans 12:1-2 is my favorite scripture! Always good for motivation.
Uncertain how I stumbled upon your restored words, Thank you for sharing them. The book of mormon obtains the strongest word imagery, if only we could pull it apart like this and transcend our lives everyday with. I wasn't doing well today sitting in the university art lab, but through the screen, your words struck a cord in my heart, connecting to my mind, allowing me to fine tune my heart again, The doctrine of cleansing ungodliness is a road paved with the most beautiful roses and thorns. Carry on your acceptable sacrifices, because truly a sacrifice is only giving up something good for something better.
Oy! I have some work to do! thanks!
