Rosie says
"I made this page for my Uncle Sean's scrapbook.
I picked out the paper and the title.
I had to color some of the letters with markers so they would all be black.

What's on the Groovy Kids Wish Lists???

We have great Groovy Kid Designers here at IIG and some of them have a wishlist for Santa this year! Let's PEEK at what's on them :) Merry Christmas Kids!!!

Deb♥

Becky:
(Her Mom DT Member Michelle said this)
Since my kids are slowly moving away from TV Shows that are on Disney, Nick Jr. and Treehouse (Canadian version of Sprout). They have been seeing all those TV ads from this toy or that toy. So I have been hearing, "I want that" or "That's so cool! Can you get me that!" I hear myself saying ask Santa more often.
This year was the 1st year I noticed that Sears has a WishBook still. It has been at least 15 years since I seen one.
My has the wishlist grown for my two. So, as a cute and fun Santa List I took a picture using the opposite side of one of those over the door coloring rolls. I took some of them looking at the Sears Wishbook too! BUT you will have to wait to see them on a page in the future!

Checking in with Kid Designer, Rosie

Rosie is back today with another lovely layout of her precious little sister.  Two sweet girls!
Deb♥

Rosie says, "I picked the title because Liberty is kind of like a cherry on an ice cream sundae.  But she is like regular cherries too - she can be really, really sweet but sometimes she is sour - like she can be mean sometimes too.  But she is a really good thing in my life and I love her."

Kid designer,Katelyn has brought to us a layout today that she designed and is quite proud of! She loves that she has a peek-a-boo element to show her special kitty hiding there under the open frame and in the picture of Susannah. According to Katelyn when I asked her what she has to say about her layout she said" This is my baby and I want to show her picture again!" Kids and their pets!

...has another very cute layout to show us. seriously I think someone is thinking about Christmas already don't you all? So here is her project that made me think about Rockin' Around the Christmas Tree when I saw what she made. Rock on Rosie!!!
Deb♥

Rosie says:

I liked this picture of my little sister holding a star. She is the star of my life and every tree is not complete without a star. So I made a Christmas tree, punched out some stars and decided to call it "You are the star on my tree".

Visiting with Groovy Kid Designer Rosie!

Welcome back to Rosie!
Deb♥

Rosie says,
"My Nana had me pick a picture. I picked one of my baby sister, Liberty Grace wearing a Marshall cheerleader outfit. This was mine when I was a baby. I picked that picture to celebrate my Sister. I picked green and white cardstock to match the outfit she was wearing. Nana did not have any sporting paper so we looked at the Cricut cartridge books. We used "Just Because" Cards cartridge. We cut a 3 inch, then a 6 inch and a 9 inch apple. We picked the 9 inch. I think the Cricut is a very useful tool. I wanted the title to be "Apple of my eye" because my Sister is my best friend. We cut the saying out at 9 inches too. My picture is 4 X 6. I used a Fiskars paper trimmer to cut the mat at 5 X 7 inches. I put the mat and picture together with a Xyron tape runner. I used a Garden Green Stampin'Up marker to decorate the apple. I used Stampin'Up pop dots to pop up the title and the apple. I think it turned out very good and I had fun making it. I love being on the design team."

Groovy Kid Designer Brook is Back!

Hi Brook!

Time to see your latest creation!!!

Brook's grandma said this about her layout:
These have pictures of Brook scrapbooking at my crop and have twice a year and a group picture of the crop attendees that she is in. Then there is one of me and Alec (Grandmama and Grandpapa), a photo of her and her brother Cheston, one of my, her mom Debbie, Brook and Cheston when we went to Disney on Ice.
She has the jewels and buttons at the bottom, the jewels, zigzags and shiny markers are water, the fish, butterflies and other button items are in the water or drinking water. Then she added an assortment of buttons and a drawing of her.She said the pictures and the embellishments make her very happy and make her smile. That she really liked them and thought they made everything pretty.

Now Up, Groovy Kid Becky

5 year old Becky wants us to know this about her project:

Becky's words:
When I made this page I was thinking about Bailey. I put things on the page that Bailey loves. Birthday Cakes, Sunny Days, Blowing Bubbles, Playing Outside. I made it with lots of glue.

Mom's breakdown:
Bailey is our almost 13 year old Black and Tan Beagle. He has been a subject of my scrapbook pages.
The things Becky put on the page that she thought Bailey loves is really Becky's Loves. She did just inform me that she likes blowing bubble when to dogs are outside to see if they watch them float in the air.
We have 2 indoor dogs, Bailey and Skipper. Skipper is another subject of scrapbooking, he is a Wheaten Terrier on paper. BUT We think he is a "Woodle" Wheaten Terrier & Poodle mix, since he is all Black! The famous dog "Benji" is a Wheaten Terrier to give you an idea. We also just before Christmas got one of Poppy's Sheepdog Pups her name is Maya. She spends most of the time outside. If the weather is bad or her barking gets out of hand, she has spotted quite a few Moose crossing the yard. So, she sleeps in her kennel in the basement.
Love that Becky got some design elements and layering mastered! Plus, she even signed her name to her work!
Now let's see what she has done ;)

Here are Groovy Kids Madison and Matthew!

Today the duo of Madison and Matthew are here to show us really lovely gifts they have created for their teachers. Here is what Madison had to share about hers:

Today I'm going to tell you about a clipboard I made for my 1st grade teacher Mrs. West. This clipboard was a present I made for her at the end of my school year. The best part about making this clipboard was making the punch art monkey faces!
My teacher Mrs. West was really happy to get her new clipboard, and she started using it right away, and hugged me several times! :)
Here's what we used to make her gift:
1 clipboard, our's was an old used one we found, that was still in good shape.
Quick Quotes Pattern Paper:
Cherry Truffle - Item Number - QQP-CT300
Cherry Truffle - Item Number - QQP-CT400
We also used small amounts of cardstock in brown, white, black, red and tan.
Assorted ribbons by Offray, where used at the top and the bottom strip of beige.

For the monkey we used the following punches:
Small circle - this was both parts of the eyes, and the inner circle of the ears.
Large scalloped circle - Head
Med. Circle - this was the outer portion of the ears.
Large oval - this was the mouth, we had to make it a little smaller so we folded it and trimmed the ends.
Tiny Bow - This was used to make one monkey a girl.
She then used a sharpie marker to make the nose and lips.
We wanted our teachers to really use our gift, so we didn't make them really fancy. Clipboards will also need to be covered with varnish or decoupage.

Here is what Matthew had to say about his:

This is the clipboard I made for my 2nd grade teacher Mrs. Boulware. She was super excited when I gave it to her. She loves getting presents. The best part about making this project was getting to smear glue all over the clipboard before we stuck the paper to it.
Here is what we used:

1 used clipboard that was still in good shape.
1 used clipboard as long as it still works.
Quick Quotes pattern paper:
French Quarter - Item number - QQP-FH400
French Quarter - Item number - QQP- FH300
This was my grandson's clipboard he is 8.
The large flower on the top is a McGill Punch, but the inner part of the flower was fancy cut from the pattern paper.
A bunch of different ribbons by Offray, where used at the top.
We wanted our teachers to really use our gift, so we didn't make them really fancy. Clipboards will also need to be covered with varnish or decoupage.

Groovy Kid Katelyn is Sharing Today

My little glitter queen Katelyn would like to share her layout today. This is her own design and wording right down to the spelling. One day we can look back at how she spelled at this age. Cute!

She said this about her project:

This is when I was a cheerleader. I cheered for 2 years, but I didn't really like cheering because I like dancing more!

Here is Groovy Kid Designer Brooke...

Brooke is here today to show us a layout about a time when she is in the hospital. She is a brave little girl who is fighting Diabetes.

Here is what she said about that:

I want Grandma Jean to know I am doing good after being sick with Diabetes.
The pictures and buttons make me happy and smile. The buttons make everything pretty.

Introducing the NEW GROOVYIEST Kid Design Team!!!

You have read correctly! If It's Groovy has a few very special kids who have generously agreed to share their very precious works of art with us! Let me introduce you to each of them!!!

First is Happy-go-lucky Rosie!

Rosie is 9 years old and will be a 4th grader when school starts. She has a little Sister named Liberty Grace and a Mom named Amy. Her Nana is Fiskateer Donna #6036. Rosie wants to be a Fiskateer, crafter and clothes designer when she grows up. When she is not crafting she likes singing, watching movies, camping, swimming, playing with her Nintendo DS, going to church, playing with her sister and cousins - Jayden and Jozi, reading and listening to music. She also loves traveling to zoos and Nashville, Tennessee, where her Uncle Sean lives.

Cannot wait to show what Rosie has been scrapping!

Next up let me introduce you to 6 year old Cutie-Pie Brook!

Brook's Grandmama Vicky told me that Brook is a little princess! She sure looks like it too :) I also learned that Brook likes to go to scrapbooking crops!

We look forward to showing her work!

Also, we have my daughter, the very angelic (I am biased) Katelyn :)

She is 7 and jumped for joy when I told her I was looking for a kid design team! She scrapbooks each month at my crops and has her own style! She is an active dancer and a homeschooled, precious, little girl that I look forward to you meeting through her works!

Meet adorable Madison who is the grandchild of Penny!

Madison

Hi, my name is Madison, I am 7 years old, and I'll soon be in the 2nd grade.
I like to make the following crafts: Puppets, cards, scrapbooks, punch-art, anything you can color, and have fun with. I have been using punches for a long time, and I love playing with paper, and glue. When I am not crafting or coloring, I like to play X-box, and have pretend animal shows with my friend and teddy bears. I also like to watch movies, my favorites are Brats, Barbie, Wonder Pets, Strawberry Shortcake, and all the Disney Princess movies!

Wait, Penny has another grandchild who is joining us too, the very handsome Matthew!

Matthew

Hi, my name is Matthew, that's Mateo in Spanish. I am 8 years old, and I like to make scrapbooks. My favorite supplies are: Stickers (Lego Stickers are my favorite), punches, eye-let hammer (I use it to hit a lot of things), and scissors that cut in funny shapes. When I'm not making things, I like to play X-Box, Football, Soccer, Baseball, and play with my friends. I love to watch movies, my favorites are: Lego, Star Wars, Indiana Jones, Pirates of the Caribbean, Scooby Doo, and Dragon Tales.

We have joining us Michelle's daughter as well! Meet darling little Becky!

Becky is 5 years old and will be starting Kindergarten in September.
She has a great personality, has a wild imagination that never stops, loves to sing, dance and be outside.
Becky goes from the Exploring Tomboy to a Dramatic Princess at a bat of the eye!
She has her own little crafty corner of her own. She loves to join Mom crafting.
