Phone rings.....brrrrriiiinnnngggg
Me: "Hello."
Her: "Hi, it's Jenn."
Me: " Uh-oh."
Her: "Abby was doing just fine & running around outside then she came in and yacked in the hall."
Me: "Oh, great! Should I come get her or do you think she's OK to go on the bus?"
Her: "She's probably fine but you don't want her to throw up on the bus."
Me: "It will take me 40 minutes to get there, I'll hurry."
Her: "She's with the school nurse."
Me: "Thanks, bye."
Nice way to end the afternoon, don't you think?

What were you doing between 1am & 4am?
This is what I was doing...
I heard Abby crying so I went into her room and she said she didn't feel good so we ran to the bathroom. Luckily it's not far. Abby puked & felt better. I decided to keep a garbage can by her bed just in case. Well, just in case came to be and she used it several times during the night. As she was sick in the bathroom for the 4th or 5th time (who's counting), I kept hearing a motorcycle driving up and down our road. I peeked out the window and there were two guys in front of my house taking turns w/a bike. I got my cute leopard print robe on that's way to short, but it was 2:30am so who cares! I walked out to these boys, I'm guessing in their late teens and said, "Seriously, what are you doing? Can't you find a better time of day to do this than 2:30 in the morning?" One replied, "Sorry ma'am, we'll stop." To which I reply, "I've got one kid puking and one kid sleeping and all these other people are trying to sleep." Again, "Sorry, ma'am." First off, I am way to young and good looking to be a ma'am and second, where in the world were the parents of these kids?! Well, we'll just see how happy they are to get a letter in the mail from the HOA. There's nothing like an HOA to bring a little fear into your life.

First Pitch
Today was Winston Day at Cougar Field, Alexander HS vs. Douglas Co. HS. Sam plays for the Adaptive Team at Winston and he had the honor of throwing out the first pitch at the game tonight. What an honor! Sam gave high fives to everyone and did an awesome job. Here's a

I need a Shower!
I've decided that once you've been married for 10 years, it's time for a Replacement Shower. We've been married for over 13 years and have needed to replace household items but something always comes up and is needed more...say a roof. Take pots & pans. We got a huge set from my Aunt Nancy as a wedding gift and we've been very pleased with it but now that they are getting really worn out, I worry about getting Teflon Poisoning. We often find little black flecks of Teflon in the food but it hasn't killed us yet. I decided that since none of my bridesmaids have offered to throw me a Replacement Shower, I better just go ahead and invest in some new pots & pans. The photo above is a Wolfgang Puck set from Sam's. I've only used it once and I'm adjusting to the non-Teflon style. I'm sure there will be more household items that need replacing so if anyone wants to offer to be a hostess for my shower, I'm available most Saturdays. I will register at Target or Wal-mart if that makes things easier.

Persistance Pays Off
Abby has been working on losing all her teeth recently. She's lost 3 bottom teeth and has been working on one of her top ones. As you can see above, she's got quite a snaggle tooth.
Here she is in the bathroom diligently working on the removal of that tooth. She claims that since it's a "bigger" tooth, she should get at least $5 for it. I explained that the Tooth Fairy is also struggling with this recession and she should be happy with what she gets.
Finally! After much wiggling, pulling and some crying, the tooth finally made it's exit.
Is she the proudest "Toothless Wonder" you've ever seen?!
One more tooth bites the dust but she'll continue her quest to loose all her teeth. The Tooth Fairy decided to be a bit more generous. The last few payments were $2/tooth. This time, she left Abby $2.01.

Learning on the Log
Learning on the Log (www.learningonthelog.com) is a therapeutic recreation company that takes special needs kids on outdoor adventures. They teach them team skills, confidence, and to enjoy nature. It's a wonderful program and Sam's school has a contract with them and they go twice a week. This past school year they've done a lot of hiking, games & learning of new skills. Here are a few photos of the trip on Monday. Abby and I had the opportunity to go with them.

Is there a Doctor in the house?
Sam & Abby have really been into Operation lately. They take the part of "MD" very seriously. Sam pretends to "scrub in" before they begin the surgery. Unfortunately we are missing "butterflies in the stomach," "broken heart," & "ankle bone connected to the knee bone." Todd was watching them play the other night & decided to take these pictures and the first thing that came out of Sam's mouth was, "No flash photography, please." I don't know where he comes up with this stuff. If anyone is in need of a little minor surgery, the kids are ready and have some experience. References are available on request.

A Phenomenon
I thought I had left this all behind when we moved from Utah. I guess I was wrong. They've been saying it was going to snow but I doubted. Abby has been praying for snow for weeks and it happened on Sunday..how appropriate. The kids had a great time & I do believe that school will be canceled tomorrow. I can't seem to catch a break. Welcome to Georgia in March.
