Mother's Day

I had a lovely Mother's Day this year, as I do every year.

This year we joined Todd's family at The Capital City Club and enjoyed a very tasty brunch!  They had some wonderful things to choose from...seared Ahi Tuna, golden beets, fancy french toast, fruit, grits, oyster shooters, lobster tails, shrimp (did NOT eat any of the fishy stuff), and lots of other yummy foods.  We had a really nice time then went back to the condo for relaxing and visiting and it was nice to just sit and do nothing!

As siblings, on both sides of my family, we've assigned each family a holiday to be in charge of for the parents.  We have Mother's Day for Judy and Father's Day for my Dad.  So much easier than trying to handle each holiday!

This is what I came up with for this year:

I did ask Judy what she would like and the only thing she requested was her favorite perfume, Bellodgia.  She has been wearing it for over 40 years!  Now that is dedication!  It's only available in NYC or in Paris so I bought 2, just in case.

I put together a cute scrapbook from the grand-kids.  I had a sheet for them to fill out questions about Grandma and it was so cute to see what they wrote.  I also had a photo of each grandchild.

My sister-in-law Jennifer made this suggestion and so I added it to the basket of goodies.  It's called a fitbit and it's a fancy pedometer but also tracks your food, sleep, etc.  It was so cool that I wanted to order one for myself, but luckily Todd ordered me one for Mother's Day!

Judy also loves to make jewelry so I got a gift certificate to her favorite bead store and attached it to this little frame with this cute saying: "Some Girls Are Just Born with Glitter in Their Veins."  It perfectly describes Judy!  Next to the frame are two little packages of Amway lip gloss.  Amway, you ask?  Yes!  The cool thing is that the wand is has little lights and there's a mirror!  Awesome!

Next up, chocolate, of course!  Judy has this problem of having many vases or bowls filled with M&Ms for her guests...at ALL her homes!  It's impossible not to grab a few here and there and before you know it, they are all gone!  I've begged her to not have them out when we are visiting but no such luck!  I put them in these cool containers and labeled them w/vinyl.  After all was said and done, I really should have used white vinyl.

I put all the stuff in a cute little picnic basket.  Perfect for the beach house!

I then wrapped it up in some brown paper and tied it up!

Saw this cute idea on pinterest!

Here we are at the Club and Judy is reading her book.  All the kids were so excited to have her read their entry.   It turned out really cute and Judy loved it.

Happy Mother's Day to all the wonderful women in my life!
