Cutie Pies

Bushtits are so much fun to watch.

If one is cute,

then two are cuter still

Dark eyes mean this is a male.

They are so small they can get inside the bell.

Five of 'em.

An aggressive Chickadee ran them off.

But back again they came.

Right side up and upside down.

A female staring at us.

Light eyes mean a female.

An Autumn Finish

A small group of Cedar Waxwings came by.
Dark overcast made for not-great photos.

But still visible is their dark 'mask'.

There were about 8 of them, but was only able to take photos of 2.

They'll hang about a bit longer - as long as there is a good supply of native fruits and berries to eat.

Almost But Not Quite

Almost finished, but not quite.  That means though that I need to begin thinking about what I might like to stitch next.  A bird perhaps?

Here are some great small birds.

I had two female Downy Woodpeckers eating suet.

No red on the head means a female.

The flocks of chickadees, now include some Chestnut-backed Chickadees.

They tend to stay put a bit longer.

So they're a bit easier to photograph.

Thanks!

And here's a Black-capped Chickadee.

Breakfast time!

An Autumn Day

Stitch pumpkins and working on the Fall Guy.

Foggy Fall
I heard them, took me a while to find them in the fog.

Off go the geese!

More Bushtits!

Gotta' love these little guys.

Male this way...

...and that'a way!

And the sun sets on another day.

Autumn Activity

All the leaves and acorns are stitched.

Now on to a couple of pumpkins.

I took a walk from up from the Big Creek back home.

There was a nice little flock of Bushtits in the brush along side the creek.

They're often difficult to photograph as the flit about.

But I got a couple of nice shots.

Female

She even posed for me!

Another nice pose.

I could watch these guys all day!

More Fall Birds

Plugging away on this...

I thought this might be something unusual, but have decided it's a female House Finch.

I getting one or two Black-headed Grosbeaks again.

Pretty sure these are birds migrating through.  This one has been eating blackberries.

A Golden-crowned Sparrow

The first Fox Sparrow of the season.

And Juncos

Gotta' love Juncos!
