And some glimpses of a Bewick's Wren

Classic wren pose - tail feather UP!

Great to see all three birds.

More Woodpeckers

Design - "Noah's Ark"
Designer - Designs by Charlotte
Fabric - 32 count unknown
Fibers - DMC - 2 strands over 2 threads
Started - 12 April 2012
Completed - 24 April 2012

I've been enjoying watching young Red-breasted Sapsuckers.

They are easy to ID as their heads do not have much red - and that is muted looking.

Here are two young birds - probably siblings.
Can you see both of them?

Young birds

And here's an adult

Lots more red on the head.

Two kids
Kid #1

Kid #2

Woodpeckers everywhere!
Two Acorn Woodpeckers and two Sapsuckers!
Does that make a Full House?

Crow and Vulture

I am pleased with this ark finish.

Design - "On Seas of Blue"
Pamphlet- "Noah and Company"
Designer - Alma Lynne Designs
Fabric - 32 count raw linen
Fibers - DMC 2 strands over 2 threads

I fiddled with this design quite a bit personalizing it to my tastes. I changed one band to a rainbow and added the blue borders between the bands.

I chanced to watch one of the adult crows messing with a turkey vulture.

The vulture was not amused.

But the crow came back.

And waited...

And once again the vulture said "Uh-huh."

Then settled down to some serious wing sunning.

Winner: Vulture!

Banana Bird

Design - "Brother Noah Built the Ark"
Designer - Mary Ann Cox
Chart - Leisure Arts - "Contest Collection"
Fabric - 30 count Natural linen
Fibers - DMC - 2 strands over 2 threads
Started - 22 April 2012
Completed - 25 April 2012

A little stitch.

A nice gift the other morning.

The bird never called or sang, so if I'd not been looking, I'd not have known it had flown in.

A female Western Tanager.

Or as I say, a Banana Bird!

Bright yellow and about the size of an American Robin.

Always a special treat to see this summer visitor.

I was fortunate as the bird stayed for a bit.

And posed nicely, both front...

...and back profiles.

Thanks so much for stopping by.
