A Spoon Full of Sugar - Bitter sweet

Hi - Tuesdays mean A Spoon Full of Sugar - and this week is very bitter sweet. Why you ask?

Well I am and have been so proud that I have been a member of A Spoon Full of Sugar for so long, one of my first DT's. I can remember the day I was asked to join. I went flying out the back door screaming to Hubby that I got an email from them asking me to join them. He of course looked at me and said A Spoon full of what? What are you talking about? LOL I was so excited. And have totally enjoyed every challenge since that day so long ago. So that is the sweet... the bitter.... After long consideration the challenge is no longer after this final challenge today. I know... sad. Really is very sad. But I understand. Debbie and Nikki have worked so hard for A Spoon Full of Sugar. They are the reason it has been such a huge success. They are amazing women that I hope to continue to call my friends, and hopefully work with on other teams in the future.  I will miss A Spoon - to all the team - you are all wonderfully talented and I have been honored to be a part of this team!

So the last challenge is Party Time. I was torn on what I wanted to do for the last challenge.  Challenge really is pretty wide open, and I started a card for the challenge. But then I decided after making my MIL's Birthday gift that was what I wanted to show off... I mean what is bigger than an 80th birthday party present? Right?

Yes - I know same pattern box I showed yesterday - and the link to the great tutorial is on yesterday's post. But I did my MIL's favorite colors on this box and then went through all of Hubby's familys photos and found this amazing photo of his Mom, him, three sisters and baby brother. Yes Hubby is the handsome little guy in the suit, isn't he just adorable! LOL
I think she really liked it. What is she going to put into the four drawers? No clue... but it was a fun party gift as everyone liked to see the vintage photo printed on the canvas.

It is a special part gift, very personal. Now please do visit the Spoon Full of Sugar challenge. And Please do join us -

Spoon Full of Sugar - Happy Birthday!

Spoon Full of Sugar Challenge is back this week! And the theme this week is simply "Happy Birthday" - create a card/project for a birthday. We all love having those cards on hand don't we? For me I got a chance to play with one of the brand new Stampavie images!!! She is gorgeous! And I tried out a new folding technique. I have always wanted to try these cards! Too fun! Once I figured it out!

My card base is a 5.5 X 12 inch card - I followed the sizes from a tutorial at Splitcoast. You can see it here.  Was a fun card to make, I used DCWV papers and sewed them to add more texture to the card. My flowers are Heartfelt Creations Die Cuts with the petals rolled and then stacked. The sentiments are from Papertrey Ink's Birthday Inside and Out set. (love that set)

And now that great new image! She is by artist Penny Johnson "Cute little Anna". Just love her! I colored with my new ProMarkers.... getting better, but I do believe I need more colors.. LOL
Here I used: Blush, Oatmeal and Ivory for the face. Buttercup and Carmel for the hair. Baby Pink and Dusty Rose for her scarf and ribbon in her hat. And then Powder Blue, Blue Pearl and Denim Blue for the shirt and hat.

Here is the inside sentiment  - close up. Good Birthday sentiment!
Now make sure to pop over to Spoon Full of Sugar and see all the Birthday fun, then join us for another great prize this week ok?

Me... I think I am going to go and love on a new baby donkey :0)

Spoon Full of Sugar - Tags -

oops... blogger scheduler did it again!! Went live instead of scheduling - enjoy Tuesday's post early :0)
This week at a Spoon Full of Sugar we have a two week challenge, a little longer than normal for a bit of summer time break. But it is such a great challenge. TAGS - These are so fun to make, and a bit of a change from our normal cards. Me... I decided it was past time for me to get to play with some new Papertrey Ink stamps that I have.

First I should tell you I love - love - vintage metal kitchen things. Including Metal picnic baskets. I have a couple would have a hundred if I had the space. So when I saw the adorable picnic basket stamp set with matching dies... well just had to come to me right?

There are a few different patterned baskets with this set, but I adore those polka-dots! There are also lots of different "things" that you can fill your basket with. I chose the flowers for my project. - So I colored my basket with Copics, then put them together.  Then I decided that I had some new Maya Road flowers, they come white... I colored them with the same Copics! Now they match! And I added them to the basket for a 3-d look! Love it! Now to work on the tag...

I cut out my tag shape out of kraft card stock. I was trying to decide if I wanted to cover it with pattern paper... when I remembered a background stamp on my wall... the same type of flowers as what was in my basket!! The stamp is a photo stamp of flowers, by Outliners Rubber Stamp Company. Papertrey Ink White Snow ink - really gorgeous on that kraft card stock! And the perfect background for my basket. White gel pen stitching seemed right as well.. Lol
The Sentiment is also from Papertrey ink...   I then added a large button and green polka dot satin ribbon...also from Papertrey ink!

I had some fun with the tag, and I have a green gift sack that I think it will be the perfect tag on :0)

So now you can pop over to A Spoon Full of Sugar and see all the DT's work. And then join us, it is a two week challenge this time so you have time...

Back to my work now... trying to clean up the house and find my craft room... I don't know if I am going to make it for tomorrows Me and My Space, but I am making progress! Lets see how today goes....

Spoon Full of Sugar - Color Combo - Pink and Brown

Tuesday's Spoon Full of Sugar Day! And the theme this week is a color combo! A favorite combo if you ask me :0) Pink and Brown!

I decided that Stampavie's Tina Wenke Tutu Cute image was perfect. I mean a tutu is usually pink right? So I went to coloring with my Copics. Pink ballerina with some brown boots!

My papers are from DCWV Rustic Stack. Love these papers, they have a vintage look, with lots of embossing and glitter. I sewed down my layers, and then added a Martha Stewart Border punch for the band across the middle. My image and my sentiment (one of the new $1.00 stamps I got a couple of weeks ago) are inked with Distress inks Tea Dye. And then matted and added to my card. I have been trying to keep some of my cards "flatter".

For easier mailing. Oh I totally adore LOTS of mulberry roses and large embellishments. But really, they do get hard to mail, so for this card I decided to cut out a few of the flowers from the stack - they match perfect in color cuz they are part of the collection. And I think they are just darn pretty too! I centered them with adhesive pearls.

Then for just a bit more bling. I stickled up that tutu! And her wings.
She really is precious - but I do love all of Tina's images! :0)

Now want to see more pink and brown? Make sure to visit A Spoon Full of Sugar and see all the DT's work. Then join us!

Ok... back to work. Cleaning our spare room and re-organizing Hubby's collection of books - well how come we are "cleaning" one room and now the rest of my house is a total disaster!! My craft room has been totally turned upside down!!! Yep... moving it all around to make room for our clothes rack.. ahem I mean treadmill... to come into my craft room. We needed to find a new place for it and for some reason seeing it is suppose to make me use it more? That is the plan but lets see... 3 feet from my treadmill is my craft desk, what would you want to do more? LOL

Have a great day! HUGS and-

Spoon Full of Sugar - Sewing/Stitching

Spoon Full of Sugar Challenge! And the challenge today is sewing or stitching on your project. Well that is all me :0) For my card I dug deep into my stamps and pulled out an old favorite! Cornish Heritage Farms Friendly Critters. I totally adore this image!

I love coloring these images, and was so sad to learn they are no longer made. I always wanted to collect all of them, but only got a few. These images have a ton of detail, and all though they look hard to color they are not. I colored with my Copics.

Now for the card.
Decided that because I dug deep for the image, I should use one of my older paper stacks as well. Found K&Company's Cut and Paste stack. Really wonderful papers, with that collage feel to them. I took one of the papers, and cut it into pieces, and sewed down in a random pattern. I sewed a pattern into the bottom edge of one of the pieces. Then like a ding dong I covered it up with my punched flowers...duh... but it is popping out just a bit. The flowers are EK Success and the leaves Martha Stewart Frond leaves. The centers are Liquid Pearls.  I also added three more dots to look sort of like buttons or brads on the right side, above the typed words (these are on the pattern paper, but they look like I typed them don't they!) The sentiment is from Papertrey Ink.

I had fun with this card, and it went so fast... no thinking really - I think it was the paper.... just matched up! Now make sure to head over to Spoon Full of Sugar and see all the other sewn projects!

Today... I think we are going to head up to Ikea... about a 2 hour drive, we need some bookcases and what ever else we happen to find there... wink wink....

Have a wonderful Tuesday! HUGS and-

Spoon Full of Sugar - Get Well Soon -

Darn scheduling.... this was suppose to come on Tuesday... and it went live Monday afternoon... oh well... enjoy it early....

This week at Spoon Full of Sugar the challenge is to Get Well Soon. And I thought of one stamp I love and haven't inked up in forever.
I totally adore Stampavie's  Helz Cuppleditches, Ruffles Get well Soon image. I would love to find a big soft chair with roses like that! LOL ... I matched up the image with more of my hoarded papers - I decided I have to start using more of my favorite papers or I will have no room for more new favorite papers! So I pulled out my Girls Paperie papers... roses were perfect!

The Ruffles was colored with my Copics - then I cut pieces of paper, and inked the edges. I had a tester die cut from MFT decorative Duo dies - hated to waste a perfect die cut! Some flowers and Martha Stewart Frond punches and I think it is a pretty cute - Get Well Card!

Make sure to visit A Spoon Full of Sugar Challenge and see all the Get Well Cards then join us for a chance at a great prize again this week.

Oh and just to report.. The wedding was beautiful, and outside fairy tale wedding. And then on Sunday we went to the movies to see Pirates of the Caribbean - Was a fun time with friends movies and a late lunch. The move was Good... not great, will never touch the original - but we all do love Jack!

Have a wonderful day - see you tomorrow for Me and my Space :0)

Spoon Full of Sugar - Ribbons and Bows

Spoon Full of Sugar - Ribbons and Bows

Hi - Tuesday and Spoon Full of Sugar Day. I am not sure about this card - I look at it once and like it and the next minute I am not to sure.... I think it is probably because I did not do any coloring. (Insert shock face here!!!) Nope no coloring of any kind. So... let me know what do you think?
Again - different for me, but I think I like it. LOL Think I do. I use the new Tim Holtz Glassine paper. This waxy paper is just so cool. And I love the look of it. I read where you can stamp on it and then quickly heat set it on the wax to set it into the paper. Sounded cool - so I tried it. I stamped the new Stampavie Penny Johnson's Garden Shelf image on the paper with Papertrey Ink Vanilla ink . Then for just a few seconds I heat set it and the wax got shiny - and the ink sort of melted into the paper. Then it dried and it is like the wax is over the ink! Really cool! I was so happy with how it came out my trial piece needed a card. Now if holding the image off by itself it does look like a cream color stamp. But when I put it on the gorgeous GCD papers with the blue and brown colors it took a blue tint to it.

Then I sewed all they layers together, and for some reason it felt like it needed LOTS of pearls. So I added them... LOL

Now I didn't forget that this was the Spoon Full of Sugar Challege - to add at least one ribbon and one bow. So I found a satin brown ribbon, and ran it across as a band, then tied a simple bow for one side. I think brown satin ribbon - is just my total favorite, looks so pretty!

Make sure to pop over to Spoon Full of Sugar and join us for some Ribbons and Bows ok?  Me... today I am working on a few DT projects. Been on this wild kick of trying new things lately. Whether that is good or not I don't know, but it is fun to try new products and techniques, even if they don't always turn out my best stuff ever. It is all about having fun and playing right?

Have a wonderful Tuesday - HUGS and

Spoon Full of Sugar - SPLISH SPLASH!!

Is it hot where you are? Well it is here, and this weeks Spoon Full of Sugar challenge is perfect for me right now. Splish Splash! Cool off with some water in any way on your card. Well not real water. LOL But to use have a water theme... swimming, bathing whatever has to do with water. Me I got the song in my head... Splish Splash - I was takin' a bath. And that was it. I had to make a bathing card...
And one of my all time favorite bathing images is Leere Aldrich's Bathing Beauty - totally order the little pooch popping out of the end of the bath! But hey you won't find me bathing with any of my dogs... they are way to dirty! LOL

I colored with my Copics - and then OF COURSE had to use stickles for all those glorious bubbles!

The paper is Websters Pages, and I just love the mirror and pearls leaning in the corner with all those roses. I though it sort of went well with this luxurious bather. I cut the edge of the mirror to slip the image behind it. Then layered a Papertrey Ink Doily die behind her. The sentiment.. which is sadly hard to see in the photo is from Melody Ross - It says - " Live a Good Life" - and I think soaking in a tub is a good start for that!

Now for some other more fun water themed projects make sure to visit Spoon Full of Sugar and then join us for a great prize again this week ;0)

Thanks for all the wonderful Comments about the new puppies! Libbie is doing wonderful, she is such a great Mom. It is so funny when she leaves them. We do have to run outside from time to time you know to do our business.... she runs down the hall - out the door - down the steps - out into the yard... fast fast fast... and then back in as quick as possible. BARKING the entire time so her puppies can hear her. LOL It is just too cute.

Have a wonderful Day - HUGS and-

Spoon Full of Sugar - Summertime!

I guess it is official - Summer is here. Kids are all out of school now, and the hot weather has gotten a bit hotter. Good time for the Spoon Full of Sugar Summertime theme then. To use Summer Colors or images on your cards - Me I went with colors... and one of the newer Stampavie Tina Wenke images... "Leanne and Hedgie"
I colored with my Copics and then shaded with Prisma Pencils. Totally adorable image!! I cut it out with Nesties Label 11 - And then drew in the matting with a Copic.

For my card I went with trying my hand at an twisted easel card... ok.. not so sure I pulled it off. LOL It really is easy - well from the instructions it sounded easy. Fold the top of your card diagonally in towards the inside of the card, then it can be folded in and stand up - But I think I stood mine up to much, cuz it isn't looking twisted to me ... just odd. Well I'll try again soon and see if I can do it right. My pattern paper is from DCWV Whimsy stack. Love the embossed glitter of the paper.
Here is my card standing... see... standing just a bit much huh? LOL I added buttons all round the card. I wanted to add flowers, but I really thought this card needed to stay more simple and not cover all the flourishing of the papers.

I hope you will spin on over to Spoon Full of Sugar and see all the Summertime cards - and then join for a chance at the prize.

Since I went out on a limb and tried the twisted easel card - I might as well list it over a Splitcoast Stamper for their Twisted Easel Challenge :0) Hope they like it, even if it didn't twist just right!

Have a great Tuesday! HUGS and -

A Spoon Full of Sugar - Flower Power!

This week at Spoon Full of Sugar the challenge is Flower Power! I went just a bit over board...

But then again can you ever have too many flowers? I went with the new Stampavie image Oh Happy Day, from the Laurence Collection. Love this kitty pushing the flower cart. I colored boldly with my Copics and then cut out with Label 17 Nestie. For my papers I again went with October Afternoon. The colors were just wonderful for the image. I took the striped paper and cut it into four pieces to get the stripes going each different direction. Sewed all the papers down.

The sentiment is from Papertrey ink - also cut with Nesties 17. I created the mats by using a deep red copic and drawing around the image and sentiment. Simple and effective. Then I chose flowers from my stash to match the flowers in the cart and loaded them up! Martha Stewart Frond leaves and stickles for the centers of each flower. Love the layered look of all the flowers! And it for sure fits in with the theme of Flower Power, don't you agree? ;0)

Now make sure to see LOTS more flowers at Spoon Full of Sugar Challenge and then join us with some blooms of your own!

Gotta fly... busy day today, lots of things on my to do list since Hubby and I were basically lazy yesterday. I know, I know... I said we had lots of chores to get done, and once the day got going, well... it was just too darn windy and hot to work outside. So we watched movies inside :0) While I crafted and did laundry. OH the laundry counts as a chore??? LOL

Have a great day!

A Spoon Full of Sugar - With Wings!

Hello to Tuesday! And for me that is A Spoon Full of Sugar Challenge - I find it so funny that my weeks rotate by my blog schedule, LOL I know the days of the week by what my challenge or post is to be that day! HA! Today is Spoon day, and the theme this week is Things with Wings. If it has wings it qualifies!

For me, the very first image I thought of was Stampavie's, Mo Manning - Fairy KiKi - Them are some wings baby!
Kiki is colored with my Copics and then shaded with pencils. And of course those gorgeous wings are coated with Diamond Stickles!

For my card I used Tilda pattern papers, with a cream colored and a hot pink card stock. I sewed the layers together and added a My Favorite Things Doily die cut, a Pink dotted satin ribbon, and lots of mulberry roses. The sentiment is from Oh My Crafts. Love that I just pop them out and stick them down!

This card really came together pretty fast, I love when I don't sit and stare at my card forever. LOL this doesn't happen often that it just works out!

Now pop over to A Spoon Full of Sugar and see all the wings the DT worked with, then join us!

Hope you have a wonderful Day ;0)

Spoon Full of Sugar - Anything Goes!

Spoon Full of Sugar Challenge today and the theme this week is ANY THING GOES! So no excuses whatever you want to make up it qualifies!

For me... I took that as a chance to play with the new Stampavie Penny Johnson Vintage stamps again :0)

This stamp is called "Blossom Birds" Gorgeous right? Now I did something a bit different this time. I stamped it on white card stock with Memento ink - colored with my Copics, shaded with my pencils, then I went back with my Distress Inks Tea Dye and colored in all around the background to give it a more old, vintage look. I like it. :0)
For my card I totally went with all of the colors of the flowers and birds. Webster's Pages pattern papers are all used, sewed in layers, with a Papertrey Ink pink dotted swiss ribbon. I embellished with antiqued pearl adhesives, and then a wooden flourish from Kaiserkraft. The sentiment is part of one of the Stampavie Vintage stamps - Shabby Chic Frame.

Ok, so lots of color here, but I like how the bright colors match up with the vintage feel. Has your store ordered these new stamps yet? They will be shipping out soon and will go fast - they are just too pretty!

Have a wonderful Tuesday - Hugs and

Spoon Full of Sugar - A Sketch with Mummu -

Hello - Spoon Full of Sugar challenge today and it is a wonderful sketch. And for me I pulled out Mummu's bike - the moment I saw this image I loved it. I just think they are so fun and full of life.
My image is colored with Copics and then shaded with pencils.

My card really goes a vintage route. I just got in some new papers from GCD - they are just so gorgeous, do you love that rose paper or what? I worked really hard to get them into the card with the sketch and still be able to see them. The doily is from Papertrey ink, I used a piece of the GCD pattern paper, and then inked it to shabby it up. Of course I had to use mulberry roses for embellishment. The sentiment is from Papertrey ink as well.

This is one card I really liked when I finished it. Is it the sketch, the image, the papers, the flowers? Maybe it is just all wrapped up.. I wish I had a red bike, I may just braid up my hair and go for a ride. ( It is probably a very good thing I don't have a red bike!!! LOL)

Now pop on over and see the other DT cards at Spoon Full of Sugar, then join us!

Have a great Tuesday - me, I am still watching over Iris - and working around the house today. May have to hop over to the post office for a box that is due to arrive :0)

Spoon Full of Sugar - White and One other Color

Happy Tuesday. I have broke myself away from the new babies and forced my self to come in and craft ;0) They are just so darn cute. But I have been crafty as well.

This weeks challenge at Spoon Full of Sugar is to make a project with only two colors - white and one other. Now for me I started to go and do some pink - blue or green and white card. And then somehow I drifted to my kraft paper card stock. And well... I ended up with BROWN and white!

Starting off with my kraft paper, I then went and pulled white card stock for the base, then used Basic Grey kraft paper basics to coordinate with my stamped craft paper. I punched the edge with MS Double Loop border/corner punch. Everything is sewed down and mulberry roses in white and brown, with dark brown MS branch punches. Now to my image...
I just giggle every time I pull out one of the Stampavie Sarah Kay new images to use. This is "Marguerite taking Ruben for a walk". Isn't Ruben a handsome dog? LOL They are just too RAD Man! LOL I stepped outside of my normal Copic coloring and instead stamped on my kraft paper with Staz-On and then colored with my Koh-I-Noor Pencils - I just love the white pencil on the kraft paper, really POPS. I also high lighted my Chic Sarah Kay gal with brown glitter on her pants and head band.

My sentiment is from OH My Word, Craft Work Cards. Love them they are just so easy to just pop on with a glue dot!

I had lots of fun with this one, even if it isn't a spring color combo. Now I hope you will visit Spoon Full of Sugar Challenge and take a look at all the DT White and one Color Combos and then join us for another great prize this week!

Have a great Tuesday and I'll see you tomorrow for Me and My Space!

Spoon Full of Sugar - A Royal Theme

Hello - Today is Spoon Full of Sugar Challenge day, and since all the media is all Royal this week with upcoming wedding - our challenge is doing the same! To make a card with something Royal to it. A castle? A Royal family member? Or just even a royal word in you sentiment... me I went with the simple task of the word Princess in my sentiment. Just couldn't come up with anything else.. LOL

But I am happy with my card, and getting to play with Stampavie's Leere Aldrich Party Girl image. I love these images, and just don't use them often enough.
Colored her up with my Copics, highlighted with Shimmerz and Stickles. All the pattern papers are from DCWV Linen Closet collection, I just love the glitter to these papers! I sewed them down with a zig zag stitch. The mat behind my Party Girl is really glittery, and I used the new Martha Stewart Jumbo Double Arches corner punch and the cut down the sides.

The sentiment is also a Stampavie sentiment, Leere Aldrich.
Now I just had to try and show you the shimmerz and glitter ;0)

And look at these gorgeous flowers. I took three mulberry flowers, sprayed them with vanilla smooch, and that just wasn't enough... so while they were still a little wet, I dipped them in extra fin glitter! Can never have enough sparkle for a Party Girl image!

Hope you will visit A Spoon Full of Sugar Challenge and see all the Royalty! :0)

Have a wonderful day! See you tomorrow for Me and My Space... I have totally re-done things! LOL

Spoon Full of Sugar - Celebrate!!

Spoon Full of Sugar Challenge Day - and this week we are here to Celebrate! The theme is to make a card or project to Celebrate. Me I took this to challenge my self for a Man birthday card. I have SUCH a hard time with these cards, and never have these in my stash.

So here is my attempt... really out of my box with this color combo. I went with the colors on this wonderful piece of Scribble Scrabble pattern paper. And this paper went perfect with a scrap of Graphic 45 dotted paper.

I used Stampavie's Helz Cuppleditch images "Ruffles Party". I love this puppy dog... and that bone in the bowl with the bow just is wonderful. I colored with my Copics, and then sewed down everything. As hard as it was I didn't add any embellishments for this man card - well other than cutting out one of the hats and placing it on the dogs head.. LOL

Hope you will join us as Spoon Full of Sugar this week, and Celebrate!

I am off.. gotta work today and lots of chores on my list to get done!

Spoon Full of Sugar - All Creatures Great and Small

Today's challenge at A Spoon Full of Sugar is "All Creatures Great and Small" or basically anything to do with pets and animals. Me... still in a bit of the Easter card making mood, I used Stampavie's Penny Johnson's "My Little Lamb" - really sweet image.

I wanted a clean fresh Spring look for this one, and decided that I loved the look of the white and light blue - and the DCWV Linen Closet paper collection with white card stock. The Martha Stewart Doily Lace Border Punch, and Papertrey Ink Satin Ribbon fit perfectly. I cut the image with Spellbinders Nesties Label Die. - All the layers are sewed down. OH and the sentiment is from Paper Inspirations.I totally adore the shimmer the DCWV papers have... you can sort of see it here in this photo - I think?

Wonderful challenge this week, I had a really hard time deciding which animal image I wanted to use... millions of animals to choose from, you know me... love my animals! HA!

Hope you will pop over to A Spoon Full of Sugar and join us this week - great prizes again!

Me.. I am going to try and get some work done. I threw in the towel and finally joined into the crazy world of face book - sigh... now I am lost in seeing old friends and reading and reading and seeing photos. One of the many reasons I hadn't joined before... I am now sucked in!! But loving seeing and chatting with old friends. And well... dinner? You think Hubby will be ok with sandwiches again?

Have a great day -
