Dust It Off Sunday - Alota Rubber Stamps - Donkey

Happy Sunday - Today I have a stamp out of one of my all time favorite sets. From Alota Rubberstamps - this is from "Michelle's Sweet Little Donkeys" - yep... the wonderfully sweet Helene named them for my donkeys! There are actually two sets available... they are just too cute for words so pop over and see them for yourself. Everyone needs cute donkey stamps!

Now I have to fess up on the image. I was looking through some stuff I had "stashed" into a drawer a long time ago and found this image already colored. I then remembered this was one of my first images I colored after my accident. One of the first I was happy with for sure. There were lots that went into the trash that first few weeks I was coloring last summer. At that time even coloring wore me out, so I must have put it aside and that was it... MIA for the last year.

So when I found it this week I decided that I needed to make a special card with it. I pulled out the My Minds Eye Lost & Found Portobello Road paper stack. I think I used 6 or 7 sheets for this one, but it all just was going together so perfectly! I just kept stacking up and sewing layers together. Then I remembered some vintage gray satin ribbon in my stash - then added some mulberry roses, Martha Stewart Branch and Frond leaves - and a Oh My Word sentiment.
This card makes me happy. Is it that is was pretty easy to put together, or that adorable donkey stamp? Both probably :0)

I even did a simple inside on this one. I wanted lots of writing space... This card was going out to someone special and I needed some room to write. :0)
So it is already on its way to that special friend. I won't say who... we will just surprise her with it ok?

Take some time and make sure to pop over to Alota Rubber Stamps ok? Helene has some fabulous images -

Well off to breakfast with the locals... have a wonderful Sunday. I think Hubby and I are going to just do some chores around here, and watch the Yankee game. Other than that no big plans. Again - Have a great day :0)

My First COVER!!!

I just nearly freaked out when I got my mail yesterday! Flipping through the junk mail, bills and such and then I got to my July issue of CardMaker Magazine!!!! HOLY SMOKE!!! That is my card on the COVER!!! I have been pretty lucky this last year and had cards published in quite a few of their magazines this year... a total shocker, but thrilled! But to have one on the cover!!! I haven't calmed down yet! Doing the happy dance :0) The call was for a card with an Ice Cream theme. I used my Alota RubberStamps, Three scoops stamps - lots of dimensional glaze and snow marker for the whipped cream - Hope you will get your copy and see it up close! Ok.... now of to dance some more!

Dust It Off Sunday - Alota - Joyful Easter Greetings

Happy Easter! I hope you are having a wonderful Blessed weekend with friends and family, and I thank you for taking time to visit me today :0)

Some of my all time favorite Easter images are from Alota Rubber Stamps, Helene has some of the cutest Spring and Easter images, and when I sat down to make a card for today's post, I went straight to my Alota stamps!
This card is made with four different Alota stamps. The three eggs are just gorgeous, I masked off the two back ones to layer them in front of each other, then the third egg I stamped out and cut it to POP it in front. They are colored with my Copics - and then I high lighted them with lots of stickles :0) The sentiment is also from Alot Rubber Stamps.

The papers are from K&Company - Watercolor stack, if you like gorgeous floral papers... search out this pad! OH my I saw it and it went straight into the cart to use my coupon on! I inked the edge with Distress ink Tea Dye and then sewed them down. The border punch is from Martha Stewart Deep Edge punch called Garden Gate.

Hope you liked my EGGstra-Special Easter card for you :0)... sorry had to do the pun!
Again Happy Easter -

Dust It Off Sunday - 6 - Alota Rubber Stamps Get Well Bug!

Hello! Sunday - Holidays really mess me up for what day of the week it is... All day Friday, it was Saturday to me, then Saturday wasn't right either... was sitting there with Hubby last night watching a movie, and realized... oops I never scheduled my post for today!! So this morning I popped up early to get it on before we meet the locals for breakfast at the country cafe we go to every Sunday.

Lots of people are starting to get Winter Colds and Flu right now - and I decided a Get Well Card would be good to have. This is one of my all time favorite Get Well Images. It was actually in my very first order to Alota Rubber Stamps. This one is actually called "Bug with Bug" - I love coloring this image.
Seriously - I adore Alota Images... especially the bugs - This image is so fun for a get well card, I colored with my Copics, then high lighted with white gel pen ( love the white polka dots on the chair.. LOL ) and then cut it out.

For the Card I went with a country blue card stock, layered with white then blue again. I sewed a piece of I believe K&Company Pattern paper - (scraps... love using them with my Dust it off cards! ) Some of these Alota images come in two sizes, so if you use the larger size they are so wonderful at filling a card you really don't need to many patterns - the image is just enough on its own. I then punches a piece of white card stock with the Martha Stewart Jumbo lattice punch, and wrapped a small satin blue ribbon around the end and tied a bow.

The sentiment is from Stampabilites - cut out and matted with scrap blue card stock.
I attached the image and the sentiment with Pop Dots - great depth and I love the shadows it creates!

If you have some time and want to see a HUGE amount of wonderful stamps... seriously HUGE amount of stamps - pop over to Alota Rubber Stamps and see what Helene offers... you won't be sorry, she has some fabulous images and her customer service is the best!

So that was my stamp I dusted off this week... what have you pulled out that you haven't inked up in a long time and it needs some ink and attention? I want to see you Dust off one of your first stamps and then share the link with me here so I can come visit you!

Ooopss... just saw the time, better run and get dressed for breakfast, Hubby might leave me behind!! HUGS and have a wonderful Sunday!

Dust It Off Sunday - 2 - Alota Halloween

Hello and Hope you are having a wonderful Sunday - This is Dust It off Sunday #2 - and this week I dusted off my perfect for Halloween Alota Rubber Stamp images. Alota Stamps are something very special to me. I treasure each one of them I have, and totally ADORE Helene the owner of Alota... I don't think I could pick just one favorite of her million images she has on her website, but I really do love her background stamps. They are so perfect to use with any image or brand. So when trying to decide what I wanted to dust off for this Sunday and realizing that it is actually Halloween, the Haunted House Background stamp came in mind as the perfect stamp for a Halloween card - all though the house doesn't look too spooky to me, I wouldn't mind moving in. Just needs some pretty flowers and maybe a donkey grazing in the yard. :0)
Colored with Copics ( colors listed below ) I then cut the image and matted on Bazzill Bling orange card stock and sewed with a zig zag stitch. I found a piece of trick or treat candy in my stash, but again ... no name on the back of it. Sewed to a purple card stock, then placed on a 6x6 piece of the orange card stock. This way I could create an easel card with a 6x6 of the same card stock.
I then found two trick or treaters to pop dot coming off the road from the house. These are also Alota Rubber stamp images - I think they are just too cute. Love the fun child like feel of these two.

For the base inside I matted the pattern paper, sewed and then placed on the bottom, I cut a fancy Spellbinders tag - for the sentiment "Happy Halloween!". Also from Alota. While digging looking for the two orange buttons to place inside to hold the easel of the card, I found two pumpkin buttons. I cut the back off them and glue dotted them down for some added fun.

Was fun digging out some wonderful stamps that haven't seen the light in a while, and that is the whole purpose of my Dust It Off Sundays... if you would like to join me in pulling out an older stamp that needs a dust off and some ink to feel loved - please do so and then leave me a comment so I can visit you and see what came out your collection!

Have a wonderful Sunday - Already working on next Sunday's image... I am just having a blast digging through my stamps to see what I want to use for each week! Love my new stamps... but remembering how much I love the older ones too!

I {heart} A spoon Full of Sugar Challenge!

Things are starting to getting back to normal... well as normal as I get - things are always busy and up in the air around here. But the challenges are getting back to normal after the holidays!

This week at A Spoon Full of Sugar it is a "lovely" challenge! To add hearts to your project! Well I love hearts - and was going to do a lacy valentine card, then I saw a new stamp from Alota Rubber Stamps - that I had been wanting to use... Lisa Sitting and Reading - you see it... there is a little heart on the book! Well I decided to challenge myself to work with this stamp and have a few other hearts on the card - and I think I like how it came out! A card for a gift of a book! LOL ...

Now I needed something for Lisa to sit on right? Well that was a good chance to use my Alota Sofa!! I love this sofa!  One of my favorite pieces of stamping furniture! LOL... and then the wall looked plain - so I pulled out the Alota wallpaper...well that is what I call it, stamps to create your own pattern paper, I make wallpaper! LOL  I colored everything with my Copics and the cut out in a circle with a red card stock mat.

The pattern papers are from Scenic Route - Love the colors - The hearts are punched with my Fiskars Squeeze Punch and the sentiment is computer generated. I know it is a bit different type of card, but I think I like it  -

Hope you have a great Tuesday -

Christmas Melt Down!

Ok, I love this stamp and sentiment!!!! It is just too funny especially this week!

These are both new releases from Alota Rubber Stamps - and I loved this one as soon as I saw it. And it came in perfect time to join in on the Paper Craft Planet Alota Group Challenge this week... and the challenge to have "Snow" on your card. Well I think my melting snowman qualifies!

For my card I started stamped my image and sentiment on brown craft paper, this way when I colored the snowman with a Snow Marker... it would pop on the paper. The rest of the image is colored with my Copics. And then cut out with my Circle Nesties.

I found an off white card stock for the base, then layered scraps of Basic Grey papers. I doodled the edges of the image and then again around the red pattern paper. I found a dark red satin ribbon and tied a bow around the pattern papers.  It really went together fast and I love it!

To find the snowman set called Aussie Snowman visit HERE you get lots of funny snowmen and "parts" and the sentiments! And to find the Snow Markers click HERE you can get it at the same time at Alota!!

Now to join in on our Paper Craft Planet challenge and WIN some great stamps POP on over HERE.

Now off to get some Christmas presents done, and get the house clean. Then tomorrow I can start some baking... I hope!

Christmas Cuties from Alota!

Now how ADORABLE are these? This is only three of the Christmas Cuties.. there are TEN total with matching inches! Yes Alota Rubber stamps has a new collection and they are called "Christmas Cuties" I just love them, they are too fun and cute for words!

I colored these three with my copics and then went back added lots of bling with red and gold stickles! Then they are each cut out with my Fiskar's fingertip craft knife. The background is also an Alota Rubber Stamp.. "Stage"  perfect to go with so many stamps as a background! It too is colored with my Copics and then cut out.

For my card base I found a pretty green card stock, then used scraps from a Christmas collection that I cannot find the name at all - I think it is called Polar Ice... but I don't remember or find the maker. Do you know?

I then added more lace borders from Martha Stewart. I think this eyelet lace punch is one of new favorites! You probably could figure that out with how much I use it.. LOL

This card is perfect for the new challenge up on Paper Craft Planet Alota Group! The challenge is to Decorate for Christmas - anything to decorate your home or a card to decorate your mantle maybe? All you have to do is to use an Alota image and follow the challenge then upload it to PCP with the tag code  ALOTA24  then pop onto the group and let us know! Then you could win the wonderful prize! And you are gonna want it.. Helene is always so generous with the prizes!

Hope you are having a wonderful week... already Wednesday WOW... and it is a cold week here... I know how cold can Texas be? But for me it is cold... LOL and it has been raining which I think makes it feel even colder. They are actually talking sleet and snow here on Friday!!! IN TEXAS! It won't stick here... but still brrrrrrr. LOL

Have a great day - HUGS and-

A Non Traditional Christmas at Spoon Full of Sugar!

Tuesday's = A Spoon Full of Sugar! and today we are asked to make a Christmas card with NON traditional colors. Now my card really doesn't look to non traditional here, but in person it does. The colors are a dark pink and light green in person - but in my photo... darn... oh well I hope you like it anyway!

My card base is a dark pink - almost salmon colored card stock with a bling shine to it. I then used a pretty light green with pink Christmas trees pattern paper, I think it is from Basic Grey? I think. The next layer is a scrap of My Minds Eye Dreamy paper, matches the pink card stock pretty well I thought. I doodle stitched the pieces down - then punched out a Martha Stewart Extra Large double border punch out of white for the bottom. My image is from Alota Rubber Stamps I have always loved this window scene stamp from Alota... It is called Winter Window and I think it makes a really nice Christmas card image.

I colored a night scene with my Copics, then used Stickles Lace for the snow, and gold Stickles for the top of the star - Really sparkles in person! The sentiment is also from Alota Rubber Stamps and is a wonderful "Merry Christmas" for your cards - really different and pretty! Don't you just love all the swirls in it -

Ok... so maybe it doesn't look to NON traditional - pink and green is becoming more traditional probably. But oh well, I tried. LOL  Now pop over to A Spoon Full of Sugar and see the wonderful DT cards in all sorts of colors!

Have a wonderful Tuesday!

Create A Scene - A Spoon Full of Sugar

Hi... short post today - and sorry I was MIA for two days - I am moving into my craft room. VERY SLOWLY.. 1 - cuz Hubby is still working on one wall ... 2 - cuz I pulled my back out moving furniture. I am much better today - but I have to work today so won't get much done in my room until later... pout pout

So now that I am running late for work I have to post this really quick - Today's challenge at A Spoon Full of Sugar was my choice of challenge! And my pick for Guest DT... I just knew I wanted to ask Kittie Caracciolo her stuff just makes me drool! I love her scene cards.. and that is where I got the idea for the challenge to make a scene for the challenge!

For my scene I just had to use the New Christmas Stamps from Alota Rubber Stamps! Now I have used Santa and his chair before, but Mrs. Claus, the little girl and boy on his lap are all new for me to ink up! OH and his bag of toys :0) You can find links to all of these on the Alota Rubber Stamps home page.. sorry I usually link to each but I am so late for work!

I colored everyone with my copics, cut them each out and then layered them together some with pop dots to give depth. I cut a square out of a matching red card stock to create a sort of window in the card. Santa has some Flower Soft on his suit for fun, and then I added some Stickles around the window.Sorry so quick today... but sooooo late! Quick update on my room though... I hope to maybe get everything in place (well enough to take some photos) by the end of the week so I can show it off to you!!! Don't forget to visit a Spoon Full of Sugar and see lots of Scenes!!!

A Spoon Full of Sugar in the Kitchen!

This week Spoon Full of Sugar has a wonderfully fun challenge - a kitchen or cooking card. This gave me a chance to mix up some of my stamps! I knew I just had to use the stove from Alota Rubber Stamps, I just love it! I have so much fun coloring it. And just makes my "kitchen" card! Then I wanted to mix things up and pulled out one of the new Stampavie Sarah Kay Noel collection - very vintage and perfect match with the beautiful old stove. This is Noel Treats - and I thought she with her pretty little table full of presents and plates of yummie foods went well with the stove.

So I colored each of them with my Copics and then cut them out every so carefully. Now both of my pattern papers are scraps.. aren't you proud of me :0) Then again I don't know the name of the scraps.. but I am using up lots of scraps! I inked the edges, and then added a EK Success border punch across the bottom.
Then I added the sentiment from Greeting Farms - punched with the SU word window punch, and inked again. It needed just a bit of a home feel to it... so I used some off white twine and hand sewed some cross stitching on each side.

I like the old fashioned feel of this one - and now I can't wait to pop over to A Spoon Full of Sugar and see the rest of the DT cards and see what they "COOKED" up! LOL

Have a wonderful day - busy busy busy here... trying to get this room done is really getting to be a chore and things keep coming up that pushes everything off - we will get this done though!

Alota #21 Birgit's Clean And Simple Challenge

HI - happy Monday! I am trying remain positive here that the weekend is over already... LOL How about a Santa card? Alota Rubber Stamps has a brand new Santa.. that is just wonderful - and also a grand chair for him - along with children to sit in his lap and Mrs. Claus! But today I decided to just show off Santa - perfect for the Alota#21 challenge at PCP. Now this was a challenge to me - to make a "Clean and Simple" challenge - hmmmm no fluff.. no bling... no flowers... ok... this might hurt! LOL

I decided to go with a deep red card stock as my base - and then found a royal looking purple - love that color combo. That is how I went with my coloring of the chair - even though Hubby thought the chair should be green for Christmas. So I colored with my Copics to make everything have a deep dark rich look. After coloring I decided that Santa needed some fur for his coat. I don't have "white" Flower Soft, but I have off white - I don't think it looks too bad... white would have been better but had to work with what I had. So I glued on my "off white" Flower Soft and let it dry. Then I pop dotted Santa onto the chair to give him some depth.
Then I "ho ho ho" doodled around the edge of the image , matted on black card stock, then my layer of purple. It needed just a bit more... I know I know .. Clean and Simple - but really I just had to add at least one ribbon :0) so I found a purple that seemed to work and ran it as a band across the middle. ok... I guess.... It still had so much open space... Now this is where I heard myself telling a friend of mine, Tracey, who really had a hard time with lots of open space on her scrapbook pages... "it is ok... make peace with the open space" and then would all laugh... and here I sat staring at that open space and it was driving me nuts! So I doodled the edge with a white gel pen the same as I did around the image. Darn... wish I had just left it! It looked better as open space!! Oh well Tracey will probably call me down and tell me to do as I say! LOL!

So here sits Santa with a lot of Ho Ho Ho's - now how about you visiting the Alota Rubber Stamp PCP site and joining in on this "Clean and Simple" challenge. Great stamps up for grabs as the prize!! And let me tell you ... you join in a few weeks in a row and your chances go up for winning.. wink wink!

Have a great Day.. we are suppose to have some heavy rain today - good day to stay inside and work on sorting my craft stuff and cleaning out so it will all fit in my room -

Stampavie Challenge goes Spooky!

Hello - it is time for the Stampavie DT Blog challenge! And this week JayJay has asked us to create a Halloween card with any Stampavie image. hmmm now that is a challenge! At least it was for me. :0) I really stressed on this one!

I went through every image... and really was stumped for a while, then I decided to create a background with an Alota Rubberstamp image - The Spooky house was perfect - then I found the Sarah Kay Time for Apple Pie - now for this card I am thinking she is out trick or treating and has gathered a bunch of candied apples... hey it is my imagination, and that is where it was going.. LOL But it needed something more - so I pulled out Rachelle Anne Miller's Hoo Hoo There image! Owls watching down on her was perfect! I colored everything with my Copics.. cut out the Sarah Kay and the RAM Owls and went to work on the card.

I used a Core'dinations Vintage orange card stock for the base. With a black card stock on that that I sewed with orange thread. A scrap of the new Basic Grey Halloween paper was perfect to mat the house image with.
I pop dotted the SK and the RAM images on the card - and then added some Martha Stewart branch punches to the owls. Instead of a sentiment I used some of the last of some Happy Halloween ribbon. I actually was pretty happy with how it turned out - especially for how much I stressed about it for days! Whew... a harder challenge, but really fun!

Do pop over and see the other DT creations! Imaginations were really used here and they all came out so fun and wonderful! Then pull out your Stampavie images and give this a go yourself! REALLY do try - cuz the "secret prizes" have been wonderful! You just have to win to see for yourselves!

Gotta run.. Hubby is sick.. sigh - so lots of whining, and taking care of him. And also my craft room with just have to be put on hold until he is feeling better.. poor guy just doesn't do sick well at all... but I don't really know a man that does! LOL!

A Spoon full of Sugar - Halloween!

It is Spoon full of Sugar day! and it is a spooky one this week! Yep we are making Halloween cards! I can't believe we are already so close to Halloween.. I mean I feel like we are still in Summer... I have been in a time warp the past two months... and the fast forward button got pushed and I am suddenly sitting here and it is OCTOBER!! Wow... no use pouting.. better just get my act together and get caught up huh? So A Spoon Full of Sugar Challenge is to make a Halloween card, and again this is a great time to show off more of the great Halloween image from Alota Rubber stamps.
Now my entire card was planned around using the "Witches Hutch" I just love it... common... frogs legs, newts eyes.. what isn't to love? LOL especially all those spider webs! I colored everything with my Copics. And then used the Spica glitter pens to high-light the glass jars.

I then colored the the witch and cauldron from the Dressed for Halloween set - LOTS of great stamps in this collection, then I cut her out to pop her out in front of the Hutch.
My card starts with a green card stock, then matted the Basic Grey eerie pattern paper with a black card stock. I love all the spider webs and spiders on this one. I found a purple satin ribbon and ran it across the corner, then over that I matted the sentiment "Happy Halloween" also from Alota Rubberstamps.

Now to see all of the other DT spooky creations, pop over to A Spoon Full of Sugar Challenge. And don't forget there is always a great prize up for grabs!

I'll be back later this morning.. I have a second post today.. with some FUN EXCITING NEWS!!!!

Don't Underestimate the Force!!

I am loving these new images from AlotaRubber stamps!!! These children dressed up as their favorite movie characters are just a few of the new Halloween stamps that have been released! There are LOTS of them.. these are part of the Galactic Friends set - And the new background stamp, Mobile Street Houses, is also a new release.. perfect for Halloween trick or treaters, but also can be used for any other character stamps!

I colored the background stamp with my chalks... I wanted a more muted and soft background, I then colored my kids with my Copics and then cut out. My card base is a core'dinations black and yellow card stock, I used a sparkle pattern paper called Star Swirls from Reminisce - the images are matted on a piece of the black card stock with the kids all attached with pop dots. The sentiment "Don't underestimate the Force" is also from Alota Rubberstamps and is part of the Framed Galactic Friends set.. LOTS more fun images on that set!

Well today was suppose to be Hubby and I putting up the last half of the ceiling in the craft room addition... but he had to go into work at the last minute.. sigh.. oh well this will give me some time to catch up on laundry again and house work, that is very needed! I hope you have a better, more fun day planned - maybe if I am a good girl and get all my chores done I can have some crafting time later :0) .. you and I both know that I will find time for that! LOL

Have a wonderful day!
