New Friends at CHA -and a Christmas Moose made Springy?

The best thing about CHA is meeting so many wonderful people, customers and internet blogging friends - OK.. the best thing equal to seeing all the wonderful new products.. LOL  Seriously, I really wish I had time to sit and talk and get to know all the great people I met. One new customer that we met is - Carol from The Scrappy Moose who is just to sweet - she and her husband Steve, checked on us each day - we were neighbors in the hotel - And I just wish we had more time to get to know them both, maybe next year? I say we schedule dinner one night guys! Here is a photo of Stuart, "Me', Carol and Heidi in our booth.

I fell in love with the wonderfully clever name of her store.. The Scrappy Moose - wonderful name for a Colorado Store. We kept telling them that we have a "Moose" stamp in our catalog of images, and I promised her I would send her a "loose Moose" in the mail as soon as I got back from CHA.

Now my only problem is, that "our" Moose, from Stampavie & Rachelle Anne Miller, is part of one of our Christmas collections. I really did not want to send a "Christmas" Card in February... so well... I tried to Springy up this winter Moose.. LOL I colored with my Copics, making sure that his sting of lights were all blinking with spring time colors! You can't see it here, but they are colored with Copic Spica pens so they really do sparkle!

For the card I stacked three different spring time papers - all from DCWV. I sewed down all that I could. Also adding some Martha Stewart borders for some fun.

And my flowers are new for me too!! I got a few Bosskutz dies at the show - one multiple flowers that stack so well together. I high lighted with white gel pen, and added some Martha frond leaf punches with jewelry spacers and mini brads. My sentiment is from Stamps by Judith.

I hope she enjoys her "Moose" - she should have received it by now! I hope he didn't wander off somewhere in the Post Office!  So Carol and Steve.. I look forward to next year and I am so happy that we met!

Stampavie Challenge goes Spooky!

Hello - it is time for the Stampavie DT Blog challenge! And this week JayJay has asked us to create a Halloween card with any Stampavie image. hmmm now that is a challenge! At least it was for me. :0) I really stressed on this one!

I went through every image... and really was stumped for a while, then I decided to create a background with an Alota Rubberstamp image - The Spooky house was perfect - then I found the Sarah Kay Time for Apple Pie - now for this card I am thinking she is out trick or treating and has gathered a bunch of candied apples... hey it is my imagination, and that is where it was going.. LOL But it needed something more - so I pulled out Rachelle Anne Miller's Hoo Hoo There image! Owls watching down on her was perfect! I colored everything with my Copics.. cut out the Sarah Kay and the RAM Owls and went to work on the card.

I used a Core'dinations Vintage orange card stock for the base. With a black card stock on that that I sewed with orange thread. A scrap of the new Basic Grey Halloween paper was perfect to mat the house image with.
I pop dotted the SK and the RAM images on the card - and then added some Martha Stewart branch punches to the owls. Instead of a sentiment I used some of the last of some Happy Halloween ribbon. I actually was pretty happy with how it turned out - especially for how much I stressed about it for days! Whew... a harder challenge, but really fun!

Do pop over and see the other DT creations! Imaginations were really used here and they all came out so fun and wonderful! Then pull out your Stampavie images and give this a go yourself! REALLY do try - cuz the "secret prizes" have been wonderful! You just have to win to see for yourselves!

Gotta run.. Hubby is sick.. sigh - so lots of whining, and taking care of him. And also my craft room with just have to be put on hold until he is feeling better.. poor guy just doesn't do sick well at all... but I don't really know a man that does! LOL!

Candy Time with Rachelle Anne Miller!

Candy Time! I wish... LOL I have to be really good today with my Weight Watcher points.. as this week I cheated a few times and I really want to have another good weigh in this week! So I will just color up some Candy Time - almost as fun as eating it!
This is one of my favorite images from Rachelle Anne Miller and Stampavie - I think it is just the name..well and that cute little puppy! I colored with my Copics and then cut out with my Nesties and added a scalloped mat.
Now you may have already seen this card.. it was in the August Stampavie newsletter this month - but I thought I would go ahead and show it here.. cuz I liked how it came out with those bold flowers. (IF you didn't get the Stampavie Newsletter you can sign up here... you really want to get these they are full of all kinds of wonderful info, images, projects and interviews!)

All of the papers are from DCWV Nanna's Kitchen stack. I used white card stock and red card stock with them. POPs huh? Those red flowers I found in my stash. I think they came from a swap years back... knew I saved them for something special.

The bottom is different... I did not punch all the way across the card I made sure to leave the sides... then I attached a red card stock behind - a different look for a border punch I think. Does that make sense? Let me know if not and I'll try and explain it better.

The sentiment is again from digging in my stash - no clue where it came from.

Hope you have a wonderful Sunday - we are getting a truck of hay delivered today - we don't want to discuss how much it is costing to have it trucked in from other places... Lets just say if we don't get some rain and the locals can grow and cut some hay locally.. I may have to give up my left arm and both legs.. I will try and hang on to my right arm so I can still color... sigh!

Peek-a-Boo!

I got a chance to play! And I loved that it fit last weeks Cute Card Challenge! Almost too late, but hey it is Wednesday so it is just in time right?

So when I am playing I have a few stamps that I just adore, but don't get to pull out and use as much - this Stampavie Rachelle Anne Miller image "Peek-a-boo" is one of those images, I have loved it since I saw the sneak peek online - and love coloring it now -

Used my Copics, and chalk to color in and then added a bit of Shimmerz for some bling.. hard to see in the photo but the butterfly actually sparkles in the light.
My card base is a white card stock, all of the pattern papers are DCWV Nana's Kitchen, I inked the edges of each piece, then added a Martha Stewart white border fence, to make the fence show more on the light paper - I rubbed the same ink I did the edges with along the paper to darken that area, then placed the fence over it.
I used my Spellbinders Nestibilities Label die to cut out the image and the red card stock - then doodled around the edges. The sentiment is I believe from Stampabilites, I doodled around the edge of it as well... went a bit crazy but was following the image when doodling. I added the two sizes of red bling along the bottom for some added fun.

Was so happy when I found that it fit the Cute Card Challenge with that added bling!

Well middle of the week - and behind as usual ;0) but I am going to read a few blogs then get my day going - Have a great Wednesday!

Happy Birthday to A Spoon Full of Sugar!!!

Yes, that is right we are Celebrating the Birthday of A Spoon Full of Sugar Challenge Blog! And the "gifts" will be FIVE great prizes to the random people who take part this week! You read right this week there will be 5 winners chosen so make sure to make a Celebration card and submit it! Thank you to our 5 sponsors this week -Whiff of Joy, Whimsy Stamps, Roses on Paper, Nutcrafters and Silly Monkey Crafts.

My card this week is a called "Lily & Milo - Congratulations" by Rachelle Anne Miller and Stampavie.

I just love how sweet Lily and Milo look - and love balloons - I colored with my Copics and then stitched down on a scrap piece of light blue card stock.

For my Card I started with a white card stock as the base, then my papers are from DCWV Whimsy stack - really fun spring/summer colors and love all that glitter! I used my new EK Success border punch on a scrap of yellow card stock - I then sewed everything together. The Hero Arts sentiment is stamped on the same light blue card stock and then punched out with the large Fiskar's Heart Squeeze punch, then gel pen stitched around the edges.

I hope you will join in this week! We would love you to Celebrate with us at A Spoon Full of Sugar!

Today is clean up for me... yes I have nice wonderful cool air - our new unit is in! But lots to clean up. And Hubby has to repair a pipe when he gets home from work. Why is it when you are fixing one thing something else always goes wrong? One of the men accidentally broke a water pipe, Hubby patched it for the night as we didn't have the parts to fix it correctly, so he at least got it where water wasn't shooting out of the side of our house and we could turn the water back on - but tonight he will have to really get into it and fix it correctly. Sounds like a "fun" evening huh?

Hope you all have a great Tuesday -

It is time for Stampavie's Monday Challenge!

Have you joined in on the new Stampavie Challenge yet? Well this week is week 4 and the challenge is a color challenge -

“Use Light Blue or Turquoise & Brown”. Make a card or any other handmade item using at least one Stampavie image and light blue or turquoise & brown in any way you can imagine. You will have time to join the fun until May 31th 12:00 blog time."

Now I normally pick my image then match my papers to the image, then color - Well this time I had some papers that I was just dying to use, you saw just a sneak of these papers on last Friday's Tilda card but this shows it off much better. It is just too cute - And I knew I wanted to use Rachelle Ann Miller's Cuddle Up image with this paper - heck I bought the whole pad of paper just cuz I fell in love with this pattern! LOL It is from Debbie Mum's JoAnn's Nursery Rhyme stack.

Now since the challenge was blue and brown... I started with a dark brown card stock - then to pull more of the blue out of my pattern paper I found a scrap of light blue card stock that I ran through my Cuttlebug Swiss dot embossing folder. Now that pattern paper, I just cut along the scallop of the pattern and then stuck it down -

My image is colored with my Copics - I went more for a dark grey look on the sheep - was trying to go with the wording on the paper "Baa Baa Black Sheep" but black sheep are hard to color you know! LOL I matted the image with a piece of the brown card stock and then ran a white lace ribbon across the card and attached the image with pop dots. Those 4 buttons are from Grandma's button tin... Then I just white gel pen stitched the edges of the brown card stock and done! Except for that one thing that I just have to do for these little sheep... yep I don't know why but I always go back and stickle them for some bling ;0)

Once again I decorated the inside and forgot to take a photo.. duh!

Well gotta shake a leg - the air conditioner men are on their way.. yep we have to have a new unit put in - so they will be her all day. Hope you Monday is better than mine! And oh I hope they get everything in and working by the end of the day or we will have no air tonight - at least it isn't as hot as it was last week.

And don't forget to check out the Stampavie Challenge!!! Seriously you want to win one of Heidi's prize packages.... oh my you really want to win one of these... ;0)

A Birthday Card for a Friend!

Hello! today's card is a birthday card for a friend - and I was very excited that it fit a challenge. I feel like it has been years since I have taken part of some of my favorite challenges - I think this one fits perfect to this weeks Tilda & Friends ATC Challenge - now I had to add the "May Flowers" to the grass at her feet, but they are there! This is a retired Stampavie Rachelle Anne Miller Lily and Kitty - love her, heck I love the kitty! I colored her with my Copics, rounded the corners and matted on a pattern pink paper, most of the papers I used were scraps.. love that!

I rounded the corners on all the pieces, and sewed down with a opalescent pink thread, I used a dark pink satin ribbon across the middle. The sentiment is from Hero Arts and it and the Rubberstamp Tapestry flowers are stamped on the back side of a K&Co. name card - I have a few of these and the colors never match what I am working on... and for some reason out of the blue I thought... hey turn it over and use the white side! Duh!
Well I hope my friend liked the card - and I hope the ladies at the Tilda & Friends do too... I am so happy I got to enter it!
Donkey update... still waiting and watching but I really don't think Lacey or Vicki will make it thru the weekend - I hope we have little ones bouncing around here really soon!
HUGS and have a great Thursday!

Smile Piggies.. You can still win the blog candy!

Happy Monday - my Crop on Saturday was a lot of fun... late night, but lots of laughs and I got lots done! Yesterday was an odd day - during the night we got new neighbors, they seem like they are really nice, and will be great neighbors, but her horses well from by back porch across my mini donkey pens look like they are 30 or 40 feet tall! And they jumped our fence in the night Saturday - so yesterday morning was an early start and well getting to know our neighbors! They are really big horses - 17.2 hands tall average of the 11 of them. (and no I am not for sure how tall that really is.. LOL) But lets just say their backs stand way over my head! And pastured next to my mini's they are giants! Gorgeous animals.. show horses.

How about a card today? And a reminder it is not to late to sign up for the Stampavie Newsletter! And by doing that you can get in on some fantastic candy... see last Thursday's post HERE for the details and the direct link to the newsletter sign up is HERE.

My card is from Stampavie Rachelle Anne Miller - Happy Piggies and they just make me smile! I colored them with my Copics then cut them out with my Nestibilities Circle, matted with a white scalloped circle.

The card is some yummy new papers I just got from Yellow Bicycle - Baby Girl Safari line. I used my Martha Stewart border punch top and bottom and sewed everything down with a pretty light pink opalescent thread. The sentiment is a Heidi Grace epoxy sticker - I then doodled the edges of the Piggies image.
My flowers.. oh I love these things I do hope my MIL is going to make me some more! :0) And for those that have asked she is working on getting me the pattern. The leaves are Martha Stewart frond punch, and the center is a sugared brad from Creative Inspirations.

And don't be too shocked... but I decorated the inside of this one too! My scraps were laying there on my desk so I just put them together and attached them to the inside.

Hope you have a great Monday... me... working this morning - then grocery store and hopefully they eye doctor this afternoon... I am out of contacts and they won't sell me anymore until I have my eyes checked! I hate that, but oh well one of those "rules" you can't fight - LOL

He is colored with my Copics and then cut out using my Labels Nestibilities die.
All of the papers are called Imaginisce - it is really yummy papers, really heavy papers that are two sided, and have shiny raised flowers on it. Sunday - Magnolia Vs. Stampavie Sketch today!

And this week it is a sketch by me :) and there is a super prize this week too!

First here is the sketch -
My card is a vintage looking one - I used my new papers from K&Company for this one and found three patterns I liked together. I inked the edges of each of them, and put them all on an off white card stock base. I cut out a flourish out of a sage green with my MM Slice, and tried to ink the edges of it.. then high lighted with a white gel pen. I stacked two flowers, jewelry spacers and mini brad to top it off.

I really wanted to do the eyelets across the bottom like on my sketch - but in my sorting and cleaning out...well I can't find my Crop-a-dile and eyelets anywhere! Very upset about it, now my sorting looks more like a mess than organized - so I used my Fiskars Border punch Threading waters and a flower satin ribbon across the bottom. I stamped out the work Congratulations from Hero Arts and punched it out with a Stampin Up Word window punch, then inked.

And then there is my image - How sweet is this image??? It is a brand new Stampavie Rachelle Anne Miller image! newly released! "Bundle of Joy" - I love it. Now I know I probably should have done the traditional colors as a baby card - but for some reason it just went together this way and I really like the colors - Colored with my Copics and high lighted with white gel pen, then inked the edges, then doodled just a little bit.

And what is the prize this week? Well Heidi from Stampavie has kindly donated two images for the winning prize - two of the brand new Rachelle Anne Miller Spring 09 images

"Newly Hatched" and "Happy Piggies"

I do hope you will visit the Magnolia Vs. Stampavie Blog Challenge and see how the other DT's took my sketch and created some fabulous cards... then please do give it a go yourself and maybe you can get these two BRAND new images!

Have a great Sunday - I am off to breakfast with the locals at the cafe, then home to do some house work and get ready for company coming for dinner - friends we haven't seen in a while, and they have two young boys so that means carrots for the donkeys - they will be happy!

Happy Birthday SIS!

Today is a huge shout out to my "kid" sister - Happy Birthday.. Love Ya!

I am sure she really appreciates the "kid" comment, but hey she will always be my little kid sister right?

I am showing her Birthday card today... I know she is gonna see it on here before it gets to her in the mail, but oh well, it turned out cute and I wanted to share it with all of you too.

I used one of the brand new Stampavie Rachelle Anne Miller Spring 09 images "Garden Bears". I think they are absolutely adorable - they are colored with my Copic markers, high lighted with a white gel pen.

For the card I started with a white card stock - then used some pretty spring colored papers from Making Memories English Garden collection. I sewed down the patterns with a pretty iridescent thread, hard to see that in the photos. The image is matted on a flower pattern, then a deep red and a Martha Stewart Doily Lace border punch. I used a Hero Arts Happy Birthday sentiment punched with the Stampin Up Window word punch. My flowers are EK Success punches, with Martha's Frond leaf punches. White button centers and white gel pen high lights.

Very spring-y and lots of color - Hope my sister likes it! And make sure you get over to see all the new Stampavie Rachelle Anne Miller Spring images... they are now available!!!!

Gotta get to the post office this morning - they have a box waiting for me! Fun!!! Hope your week is going well, mine has been crazy busy... Life :)

Thank Ewe... all sparkly!

I am just going nuts over this new Making Memories Sabrina paper - in fact I made quite a few cards that you will be seeing in the next few days - Just loving the pink and black and all the yummy embellishments. This card came together so fast!

Well it helped that the Stampavie Rachelle Anne Miller image was already stamped and colored with Copics. I just added a bit of bling with some stickles on the sheep fur.
Pink card stock is used for the base, then three pattern papers from the collection cut and sewed down with a light pink shimmer thread. That fabulous large embroidered ribbon is one from the collection. For the flowers, first is some of my favorite Michael's Bridal flowers, then the little round flowers are "part of the collection" topped with jewelry spacers and mini brads.

I sat and stared at it for a while wondering what sentiment to use with this card - then I remembered this perfect "Thank Ewe!" from High Hopes, and it fit perfect as well! A bit of doodling around the edges for some fun. Love the colors - and I love the fun sheep!

I have a few extra minutes this morning - he he before Hubby yells for some help on what ever he is working on... I am going to try to do some blog visiting -

Hope you have a wonderful Monday!

A Spoon full of "Baby" -

Alrighty - 24 hours late, but better late than never! I had to make this weeks Spoon full of Sugar no matter what - One I got some new papers that were just perfect for the "Baby" theme, and Two my husbands niece had a baby! MIL needed a card to send with her gift - so I had to make this card! I love how it came out -

This Stampavie Rachelle Anne Miller Image "Play Time" is one of my favorite baby images, it is just too cute and fun and is perfect for the subject of baby. I colored with my copics, and then cut out with my Spellbinders Nestibilities Petite Ovals, the mat is the same as the card base. Now do you love those big polka dots they are embossed and feel almost flocked it is from DCWV and is part of the Nana's Nursery set. I used my Martha Stewart Valentine Border punch and scrap white card stock to make the heart border, hearts are ok for baby cards too right? Of course cuz we love babies so much!

And because of the heart I thought it was ok to punch out the Papertrey Ink Sentiment "Heaven Sent" with my Fiskars Heart Squeeze Punch. For the flowers I used EK Success Retro Flowers. Now all of the flower and the inside paper.. oh yes, I did the inside toooooo! All of these are a new paper stack that I got from Michael's, called Chloe's Closet from Making Memories. And wow.. you should see all the really cool embellishments that they make to go with this paper! Ok, so I inked the edges of everything with a light brown, sewed parts with straight and zig-zag stitches. Flowers are attached with jewelry spacers and mini button brads.

I hope MIL likes it, and I apologize for being late with this one - I have some fabulous DT buddies at Spoon Full of Sugar - they were so nice about me freaking out about being late. So make sure to visit the Spoon site and see how they made some GORGEOUS baby cards!

today - well I am hoping to put everything back into my brand new Utility Room - and get lots of laundry done. That while keeping an eye on Libbie - taking her out a million times. She has had very few accidents in her crate... she is so cute, she doesn't like to "do wrong" in there and wants to go out side to do her business, how cute is that at just over 7 weeks! Now my next thing is her and the cat.... They really love playing, and running all over the house. Gato has been so great with her careful but wearing her out so she sleeps a while!

Hope you have a wonderful Wednesday!
