Happy New Year!

Happy New Year everyone! Let us hope that this year is a much better one than the previous one was. We normally each have our own issues to deal with but this past year we became a global family all battling one very bad situation in particular. With the new year upon us, it is filled with so many possibilities. I hope that we can leave the tragedies of 2020 behind and look forward to health, happiness and prosperity in 2021!

Let's start off the new year with a freebie, shall we?!!

Happy New Year!

How's your new year so far?  I've got two posts that should have been out over a half hour ago that I haven't even started, this one should have been out this morning, and when heating up a special Tim Horton's hot dark chocolate that my husband lovingly bought for me earlier in the day, it expoded in the microwave leaving not one tiny area unaffected.  I'm really hoping this is not an omen for how this new year is going to go.

At least I managed to get a paper done for your New Year's gift...

This digital paper is in 3600 x 3600 pixels, in jpg format and published at 300 ppi. Now it may be a bit busy for some people's tastes but I kind of like it.  To grab it, click the download button to be taken to a download location.  In the zip folder you will find a copy of the paper, its preview sheet, the credit information and my terms of use which are standard to all my folders.

Well it seems that today is going much like yesterday.  I need to work on preparing some din din so today's task for the 12 Days of Christmas Quest is going to be rather late again today.  I continue to appreciate your patience.

May your blessings be many in the new year!

Card Design: New Year's With Nicecrane Designs

http://nicecranedesigns.com/
Okay, I am just about ready to burst with news that I have been holding in since a few days before Christmas.  I was approached by Ignacio who is the incredible owner behind Nicecrane Designs, to become part of his Creative Team.  Now since, the Lady Anne Progressive Christmas Challenge is no longer around, that means that I have a little bit of time freed up.  Doors closing, windows opening and all that, and it means that I was able to say YES.  You have no idea how excited I am.  I only recently became acquainted with Nicecrane Designs back in October but I have become a serious fan of the designs I've seen showcased over on his amazing blog and in the store.  Additionally, the caliber of the people on his Creative Team is just inspiring and to now be included in that bunch...well, let's just say I am in awe and honoured.

I don't know what it is, but lately I have really been taken with vintage creations.  Whether card designs or the images themselves, I just can't seem to get enough of them.  I think my mother is finally having an influence on my tastes as she is a super fan of vintage herself!

So without further delay, check out what I created for my very first ever post as the newest member of the Nicecrane Designs team.

Check it out...

FRONT
Digital Image:
  • Vintage Cat 3:  This sweet little group is from the Vintage Funny Cats CS.  You can click on the watermark below to head to its location in the store.  Aren't they all hilarious?!  For those of you cat lovers out there, this collage sheet would be the perfect addition to your collection.

Digital Sentiment:
  • I brought the image into Publisher and added the text 'Happy New Year' right on top of the image before printing.

 INSIDE
Digital Sentiment:
  • I thought that this would be an appropriate sentiment to go along with a New Year's card.  This is another great freebie I picked up over at Create with TLC.  Click HERE to go to Paulette's blog and HERE to go to the store.

OVERALL
Paper Products:

  • Card base:  Michael's Recollection's Cardstock, cream.
  • Designer Papers:
    • The circled paper (front & inside)--K & C Company Designer Paper--Best of...florals collection.
    • The green cardstock that I embossed and also used on the inside as matting behind the sentiment is Michael's open stock scrapbook
Embossing Folder:
  • The embossing folder is Goosebumpz brands.  The thought the larger dots were appropriate given the design of the paper.
  • It is so much fun adding texture to cards.  Once again, thank you to the donator of my amazing Big Shot machine.  Without you, none of this would be possible!
Challenges I am hoping to enter...

Before I go...
If you are looking for images to make some new year cards then you will want to check out this collage sheet as well.

What better way to toast the new year than with a bunch of wine drinking and apparently wine dunking elves.  Cute and humourous too.  The perfect accompaniment to any New Year's card but also perfect for other celebrations as well including birthdays, anniversaries, etc.  These little elves are great on a card for any occasion where a toast is appropriate.

Well, that is it for my first official post on the Nicecrane Designs team.  I hope that you have enjoyed my non-traditional New Year's card and that if you have the opportunity, you'll pay Ignacio of Nicecrane Designs a visit.  Your time will definitely be well spent.  He has such an incredible selection of images and the fellow members on the Creative Team are so talented, you'll definitely walk away inspired!

Until next time,

Happy New Year!

Hello my wonderful peeps!  I indeed hope that you had a fabulous holiday and that you are experiencing a happy start to the new year.  Mine was a bit rocky getting off the ground and I am hopful that the first couple days of January are not a reflection of how the rest of the year is going to unfold.  I have high hopes and big dreams this year and I am so glad that you are all here to be a part of it.  Whether all my hopes and dreams take flight...well, only time can tell.  Hard work and positive thought will only get me so far.  I'll do my part to get there and the universe will have to decide the rest.

There is one new feature that I am following through with.  I'm going to introduce it tomorrow so you will just have to come back then to find out what it is.  Only the fourth day of January and I am already keeping you in suspense.  Hee, hee.

Right now I just wanted to pop in and wish everyone the happiest of new years and of course to offer up a little treat.  It comes from my Celebration mini kit so I think that it works well for a New Year's gift!

I plan on another year filled with reflection, inspiration and of course lots of treats.  I hope that you will continue to join me on this crazy ride that is my life and that I will be able to continue to rely on your counsel.  Your thoughts and suggestions are always considered very carefully.  Without you guys, there is no Décosse's Dynamite Doodles!

Best wishes for a prosperous and healthy 2014!
