DT Post: Fresh Brewed Designs New Digi Design Team Announcement

If you are looking for the San's Design blog hop post go HERE.
__________________________________________________________

I've been unofficially rooting for and promoting Fresh Brewed Designs ever since I showcased Heather and her wonderful talent back at the beginning of March.  Well, I might as well make it official!

When Heather asked me if I'd be interested in joining her new Digi Design Team, I not only jumped at the chance, I did a little jig--well in my mind anyways.  My body may not cooperate anymore but it in my mind I can dance for hours and I did just that.  In fact I'm still dancing!

Today launches the official new Digi Design Team and in celebration of this auspicious occasion I created a digital design using Heather's fabulous sentiment, "Be Outstanding", that was recently offered as a freebie on the home page of the store.  You really should check in there often, as you never know what goodies you may find.  In fact, a visit to the store homepage today may result in finding yourself a sweet little sentiment.  Just sayin'...

NOT FOR DOWNLOAD.  THIS IS NOT A FREEBIE.
Sorry for the big and bold 'not for download' statement but I need to make sure that it is clear.  You guys are used to being able to download my digital graphics but NOT when they are created using another artist's image with strictly PUO terms.  Digital stamps and images are not available for redistribution whether alone or part of a new creation unless explicit permission has been given from the designer.

Image Details:
  •  This is a 100% digital image.  It is not a card or even a tag.  Just an inspirational design that I can either print out and frame or use as a backdrop on my desktop.
  • The background image is a picture in the public domain.  The photographer is Hotblack and you can find this particular photo at MorgueFile.
  • I took Heather's amazing sentiment and made the background transparent, then recoloured it.  Next, I put the quote with the image, added a backdrop and a frame.  I went between Photoshop Essentials 5 and Inkscape to create this design.
Challenges I hope to enter include:

Now it is time to meet the rest of the fabulous new Digi Design Team...

And of course me...
Tee Hee!  She even has spiked hair and blue eyes, just like me!

We will be joining the original FBD family which includes:

And of course the amazing woman behind it all...

So I hope you will join me in my new adventures working beside all these wonderful ladies and having the opportunity to represent such an amazing artist as Heather.

Join me Monday when I introduce the newest digi releases for Fresh Brewed Designs.

At Fresh Brewed Designs we always have a
fresh pot of creativity brewing. So stop by and join us for a cuppa whenever you want!

Until next time,

Note: I apologize if there are any formatting issues.  This is a scheduled post and we all know Blogger has a mind of it's own.  If it turns out that something looks wonky, i.e.--part of the sentence is a different size, font, or colour than the rest, I'll fix it as soon as I'm able to.

Design Team Info: Scribbles Designs Challenge Blog

I just wanted to take a moment to introduce you to the ladies I'm working with over at Scribbles Designs.  They are a fabulous group of women with their own unique vision and that is what it takes to make a good team.  It would be rather boring if we were all the same, wouldn't it?!   So without further ado, here are the ladies and what they have to say about themselves...

Sandy...owner
I've been artistic since I was "knee-high to a grasshopper" as my Mom would say and love color, zentangles, lettering, calligraphy, watercolor painting and now digital images & design. I am the artist behind Scribbles Designs and I am so excited to share my scribbles with the Design Team and you, the digital image world...

I hope that I can entertain and have a little part of your fabulous creations...
I live in Kelowna, BC Canada, a vacation destination for beaches & summer sunshine, wine, skiing (both water & snow),golfing, hiking and boating with my awesome hubby Boyd and our furry child, Ali.

Calypso...
My name is Nazeema Bastian, but everyone calls/knows me as "Calypso".
I started scrap booking back in 97, took a involuntary break and stepped into the card making ring in 2007. I love paper and dies...I love how with these two things you have an endless possibility to what you can create...
I am a very happy, quirky SAHM of 3 boys, a VERY supporting husband and a mini Yorkie. My time is divided to kissing scraped knees, cooking, cleaning, crafting and then ME time.

Cely...
My name is Cely and I live in Hawai'i on the island of O'ahu. I work in a 6th grade inclusion classroom. I also am married to a Navy man and have a Bombay kitty cat named Sabotage (who sometimes makes an appearance on my blog). I craft when I have a spare minute, making cards and other paper crafts. My favorite is anything Stampin Up! as I'm also a Stampin Up! demo and hold weekend card making classes. I like to combine the high quality SU card stock with digital images and Copic markers.

I am an artist, a Mom of two beautiful daughters and a wife of very supportive and charming husband.  I am a graphic designer, adobe made our life easier but I do like making actual things instead of seating in front of the computer.  Mostly I am making cards, tags and mini albums.  I love altering things.  I love making friends and it will be so fun when you have same hobbies and I am fortunate to have them here on Internet through blog, YOU-TUBE, FACEBOOK and many more networking sites.

I am just amazed with the friendship from all over the world who we never seen, we never talked but they become a really good friends. I am always thankful for friendship in my life. I am a stay home Mom and just because of all these talented people, I am able to spend my time creatively.
This is me....I love shopping and a cup of morning Tea (Chai :-) is my weakness!  My own Quote is - " I can not LIVE without GLUE or you can say my craft can not SURVIVE without ADHESIVE....LOL!"

Dawn...
So excited to be part of a new DT as I love to try all types of paper crafting and will happily flit from one thing to another as I discover a new passion! I am shocked to remind myself that I am 45 as it really doesn't feel that way in my head, even though my body seems to take delight in reminding me I'm not a teenage any more! BTW, I use!!! Way too much!

I currently live in New Jersey in a little town called Boonton with my hubby - we're only an hour from New York to the east and the Pennsylvania state line to the west. We moved here 3 years ago from Cambridge, England. We both love to travel, especially over here in the States as this country is HUGE!! There's so much to see and we've been lucky enough to have seen some amazing things in California, Arizona, Nevada, Florida, Pennsylvania, New York, New Jersey and Alaska - only 42 states left to visit ;)

I am on the Copics DT team for the Outlawz and part of the DT for The Octopode Factory and Eclectic Ellapu - I also design digis for Can You Digi It and for my Etsy shop, along with my super talented hubby who does some amazing digis of cars and bikes (yes, I'm highly biased!!).

I have found that I love to be creative and that I super enjoy papercrafting!
I am always open to new ideas and techniques and love to challenge myself.
I find inspiration all around me in this incredible world God has created
and in the family and friends He has blessed me with. I live in the spectacular Yukon Canada. I am the wife to a wonderful man and a mom to four delightful children.

Sam...
My name is Samantha Simpson but most people call me Sam. It’s nice to meet you. I guess it should come as no surprise to you that I love card making.  I started crafting about six years ago and take great pride in everything I make. I love paper and have a passion for making cards; it’s what I do. It’s who I am. But what I love even more is to sharing that devotion with others. I have had several different styles to my card making and it has evolved over the years; what I love is that I'm always learning something new and finding new ways to do things. I live with my fantastic partner Jono and my mad cat, Patch, who thinks he’s a dog. We live in the quaint, quirky and amazing ye olde City of York - UK; along with the Vikings, tourists and loads of friendly faces.

Sherry...
I am from Minneapolis, Minnesota and I am Mom to Justin, Nana to Micah and Cassie, Married to Joseph. I love playing in my Craftroom making cards, or creating a scrapbook layout or mini album. I love Cardmaking, Scrapbooking and going on weekend retreats with friends. And now blogging.

Shirl...
Hello my name is Shirl Nases, I live on the Big Island of Hawaii.  I'm a SAHW (stay at home wife) and have been crafting for several years but never took it the next level since three years ago when I decided to have a blog. I have a very supportive hubby that deals with my passion and that's card making and working with all types of paper projects. I also have a cat name Mimi and raise love birds. When I'm not in my craft room I'm working in my yard.

Vicky...
I'm an accountant working full time and a mother of 4 great kids. I have an amazing husband who understand that in order to keep my sanity through all this I need to craft. I live in Quebec, Canada, so a lot of my crafting is done with French sayings. I have been crafting over 21 years and tried my hands at all kinds of techniques over the years. I'm fairly new to the blogging world. I have started blogging in March 2012 in order to join challenges. I became totally hooked!!!! I can't believe this world existed and I only found out about it then. I see blogging as a wonderful opportunity to improve my card making abilities. I have realized that through the web I get to meet amazing people from all over the world and learn from them. I'm in awe of all the wonderful blogs that I see and I hope that one day my blog will be up to that level.

Lisa...that's me!  And you already know about me.

I am honoured to be working with this incredible group of women.  I hope that you will join us every month over at the Scribbles Designs Challenge blogI'd love to see your unique creations.  Who knows, I may even be the one leaving you a comment with my official DT hat on; and I have to say, I'm liking how it fits!

Until next time,

Design Team Coup

Hello everyone!

I hope you are enjoying your holidays.  I wanted to share with all of you two more coups I've managed in the last couple weeks.

First of all, I am proud to announce that I will be designing for Tuesday Alchemy.  TA held a DT call a couple of weeks ago at the time that I entered one of my Christmas cards into their then current challenge.  It was actually the first time I had ever visited the site and thought 'what the heck, it never hurts to put my name forth'.  I figured the odds of having someone contact me were nil to zero.  Well, to my utter surprise, within four minutes of my adding my name to the DT call, Corrinne, the DT leader, let me know that, and check this out,  my "creations are perfectly lovely" and that I'd "be a fantastic addition to the team".  Well, call me gobsmacked and dipped in glitter!  I couldn't believe my luck and I am so thrilled to be part of this unique group of crafter's.  Of course, there is that doubting, lack of confidence part of me that wonders whether they just had so few people apply for the DT that they were hard up for warm bodies and forced to take on who ever came along.  Yeah, I know, I'm working on it.

The goal at Tuesday Alchemy is to inspire & challenge creativity along with promoting handmade artists & crafters.  I love this philosophy and am really happy to be part of the gang.  A new challenge is posted every two weeks on a Tuesday and the current challenge, ANYTHING GOES, is opened until Monday at 11:59 pm.  You can share whatever handmade art or craft project that you'd like and what I love about this challenge blog is that you can ALWAYS enter as many times as you want AND combine with other challenges.   Please go have a look.  There are some awesome prizes available from the current list of sponsors.  Now, while TA is the second DT that I have become a member of (Scribbles Designs Challenge is the first), it will in fact be the first team that I will be posting for as our very next TA challenge goes live on Tuesday, January 1, 2013.

Then just today, I found out that my request to be a guest design team member for the Love To Create Challenge Blog was also accepted.  Here as well, I figured the odds of being chosen were pretty low given the number of people applying for the position but I guess they liked what they saw too because I've been asked to design a card for their January 7th challenge.  So that is roughly five or six DT cards I'll be designing just for the month of January alone!

I'm really excited about all these opportunities opening up and I am so happy that all of you are around to share this journey with me during the coming year.  It is certain to be an interesting and busy year, that is for sure!  I hope you will all mark your calendars with these dates, come join in the fun and submit a project to each of these challenges.  I'll be sharing more information on the details of each challenge when I post the card I'll be showcasing.

Until next time,

So Very Thankful: Good News To Share

Today I'm so excited to share some FANTASTIC news with you.  In fact, if I was capable of it, I'd climb up and shout it from the rooftop.  Since that isn't possible, I'll just share it with all of you here on my blog.

Today I have one more thing in my life to add to my gratitude list.  I was asked to join a design team and after careful consideration to ensure that I would be able to keep the committment I would be making, I SAID YES!  So come February, I will be designing for the AWESOME Canadian company--Scribbles Designs owned by the super, fabulously talented, Sandy Sommerfeld.  I am truly honoured and so thankful to be chosen as one of the design team members.  I only hope that I do Sandy justice.

Today I want to show you the card I created using one of Sandy's freebies.  You can currently find it and information on the Design Team call over on Sandy's blog, Scribbles By Sandy or on the new Scribbles Designs Challenge Blog.  If you are interested in applying for a team member position, there is still time left.  Just head on over when you are done here and check out the details.

So, in this edition of "Thursdays Are For Giving Thanks", my focus is on expressing gratitude for this amazing opportunity.  It is especially meaningful because this will be my first Design Team position.  Wish me luck!  I hope you will be joining us when the Scribbles Challenge Blog goes live.  Become a follower so you won't miss any of the action!

I decided to go with a clean and simple look for this card.  Sandy's sunflower design is so beautiful, I wanted to make sure it was the star of the show.  Copics include: Y13, Y15, Y17, E21, E23 and E25 (sunflower); G20, G29, YG61, YG63, YG67 (leaves and stems).  The sentiment, which fits perfectly, is from Hannalie over on Desert Diva.   The inside is stamped with a clear rubber stamp from the Stampendous Encouraging Words set using a Studio-G ink By leaving the inside void of any text, the card can be used for inspiration, dealing with difficulty or even for encouraging someone's dreams or expressing pride.

I'm afraid the colour quality of my scans aren't the greatest.  That is something else on my list of things to do--learn how to touch up pics for colour restoration.  Unfortunately, it is rather low on my priority list at the moment and will now have to wait until the new year to explore.

I have entered this card into the following challenges:
Thanks for stopping by and checking out my latest post. If you have the time before you go, I'd love to know one thing you are thankful for on this day.

Until next time,
