Happy Wednesday - it's finally spring like temps here today and my back is starting to feel better so I finally made my Sweet Sunday card (SSSC110) this morning. Click here to see the sketch on Karen's blog
For my card I kept it really simple and with masculine tones. I inked up Life is Like Riding a Bicycle quote from Stamping Bella. The image is stamped on bella's bestest paper with baja breeze ink. I stamped the heart from the sentiment onto baja breeze cs and used a clear glaze pen to add some shine, then I popped the heart up. The ds paper is from MME's Stella & Rose Hattie.
I hope you can play along with Karen's Sweet Sunday Sketch this week, and remember to visit her blog and link you card.
AND you still have time to email Em your card for this weeks Bellariffic Fridays challenge - Polka Dots. This Friday we have 3 new babes joining us!
Have a great day & thanks for stopping by

No Sweet Sunday for Me....
It's Sunday which means Karen has another Sweet Sunday Sketch to play along with (SSSC110)
So my plan was to make my card Friday afternoon after a crazy week of no stamping time. I went to the gym and then came home and decided to throw in a load of wash (critical error) when I bent over to pick up the clothes I felt a horrible pain in my back. Yep something did not want to move the way I wanted to! Needless to say the laundry was still sitting on the floor when hubby came home! Still can't sit long enough to stamp BUT as soon as I can I will have a card!
Please stop by the rest of the Sweet Sunday Stampers blogs for inspiration - and when you play along this week remember to link your card on Karen's blog
I hope you all have a great day - as if having a sore back isn't bad enough we still have winter weather; a fresh snow storm last night! They claim it's going to warm up mid week; I'll believe it when I see it!

It's Sweet Sunday 109
I originally planned to make a lovely spring time image BUT here in Calgary we are under a winter storm advisory! Yep some reports are saying up to 20cm (about 8") before Monday morning - now others are saying only about 5-10 cm so lets hope they're the ones who are right! Sadly it's very common for us to have a snowstorm this time of year so I went with the perfect image from Stamping Bella - BOOTS!! The image is stamped on bella's bestest cream paper and coloured with copics. The ds paper is Crate Papers Snow Day collection.
Please stop by the rest of the Sweet Sunday Stampers blogs to see what they have created with the sketch & I hope you can play along with us this week. Remember to link you card on Karen's blog!

It's Sketch Time
Happy Friday!! I hope you all had a great week! We had a couple of days of springlike weather then wham snow yesterday (didn't stick but was white out to drive) today back to spring. How I hate the crazy weather in Calgary!!
This weeks Bellariffic Fridays theme was a sketch (my favourite kind of challenge). For my card I flipped through my stash of bella rubbah and decided to ink up one of my very neglected Lollipop images. Hannah Lollipop is stamped with mementos ink onto bella's bestest cream paper and coloured with copics. I paper pieced her dress & bow in the ds paper (and popped the bow up). The ds paper is MME's Stella & Rose hazel. I added some rhinestones in the corners that I had in my stash & they perfectly matched the pinky red paper!!
We're taking next week off so the next Bellariffic Friday is April 1 (holy how'd that happen?!) The theme is Polka Dots so email Em by March 30th with you card to be included and you could win yourself some Bella bucks
Thanks for stopping by & have a FABULOUS day

Time to Celebrate
I'm excited to play along with the wonderfully talented Joanne B's 4th blogaversary challenge - I can't believe she's been blogging for 4 years! I started following her not long after she started blogging but was too intimidated to leave comments then I met her she totally busted me for never commenting, so now I comment! She is so freakin FANTASTIC!! I can't wait to see her the next time I'm at my BFF's
I inked up MFT's al a modes Time to Celebrate and stamped the image onto bella's bestest cream cs and coloured the image with copics. I paper pieced the cake & popped it up, then added some clear glaze for the icing. The sketch is Jen's SKFYTT for March and the ds paper is MME's Stella & Rose - Mabel. I added a cream prima flower which I sprayed with Tattered Angels glimmer mist in Aquamarine (for the girls at Scrapbooker's Paradise north who convinced me I had to have it today, along with several other items!)
I actually managed to incorporate 4 of the elements on my card (limit is 3) here are the ones I used - Kraft cs; Mixed stitching (I used straight and zig zag), twine, and ledger paper (really it's there under the strips) Joanne's contest is open until March 19 at noon (EST) I hope you can play along & help her celebrate!!

Oh Boy Sweet Sunday
Did you miss the hour of sleep last night?! I love the lighter evenings and since I don't have to get up early in the mornings I am a fan of "spring ahead" Karen has another amazing sketch for us this week (SSSC108)!
OK when I picked my image I clearly had my sketch sideways on my desk and by the time I figured it out the paper was piked and I didn't want to flip the entire sketch SO here is my interpretation of the sketch
Oh Boy Ian from the Greeting Farm is stamped with mementos ink onto Bella's bestest cream paper. I love this paper, I know a lot of you love the x-press blend, but with bella's bestest paper I can just keep layering on the colours (especially for the hair) and it soaks in nicely. For me I've found the ink sits on top of the x-press; am I doing something wrong?! The ds paper is October Afternoons Campfire (a gift from my wonderful friend Wendy) and of course I paper pieced his shirt. I think soon I will have to admit my addiction (paper piecing) within my addiction of stamping! I paper pierced around my layers and added some buttons and ribbons to finish my card.
Please stop by and check out the rest of the Sweet Sunday Stampers creations; yeah we were all able to play along this week!

You Crack Me Up!!
Happy Friday!! This weeks Bellariffic Fridays theme was Easter - I must confess I don't make a lot of Easter cards so this will probably be my one & only.
I inked up on of Stamping Bella's sweet Huggabuggs - Cracked Up Huggabugg by Christy Croll. The image is stamped 4 times onto bella's bestest cream paper and coloured with copics and pencils (I used a pencil for the chicks). I layered the image several times - first the original image is cut out with a nesties then I added the cracked egg around the huggabugg. On that I layered the flower on the top and the chicks, then layered their eggs on them. The flower on her hat is also layered to give dimension to the card.
The ds paper is MME Stella & Rose Gertie which I used a Martha Stewart flower border punch and added some tiny rhinestones to the centre of the flowers and the one on her hat and the top of the egg. I added some glitter to her wings.
Next weeks Bellariffic Fridays theme is a SKETCH!! I hope you can play along with us this week- email your card to Em by Thursday to be included and you can win some bella bucks.
Thanks so much for stopping by and have a great day!!

Mavis has A Daisy
Happy Wednesday! I'm in the mood for spring & the weather here is finally sunny & above 0!! Yep no socks weather has arrived!!! It will be awhile before the snow is gone & we see daisy's but it actually feels like it's coming (at least for the next day or two!)
I started off thinking I was going to play along with this weeks Mojo Monday sketch, but then a veered off course - so it's a very loose interpretation of this weeks sketch (181)
Mavis has a Daisy is stamped with mementos ink onto bella's bestest paper and coloured with my caran d'ashe pencils. I used light grey and silver along the edges, I love those pencils; thank you Paula & Linda for enabling me!! The ds paper is MME's Stella & Rose - Mabel. I paper pieced her dress and flowers with the ds paper. The flowers are 2 layers, the top on is popped up with a tiny orange rhinestone.
You still have time to email Em your Easter card for this weeks Bellariffic Fridays; just send it to her by tomorrow to be included & you could win some Bella Bucks!!
Have a great day & thanks for stopping by

Sweet Sunday SSSC107
Happy Sunday - I hope you have all had a great weekend! Karen created another fantastic sketch for us, and somewhat daunting for a girl like me!!
I went back and forth several times finding just the right image for the sketch (SSSC107) and finally settled on flipping the sketch vertically and it came together for me (with some measuring!!)
I inked up MFT's Pure Innocence My Umbrella (currently not in stock) and coloured her with copics then paper pieced her jacket, boots and umbrella with the ds paper from MME Stella & Rose's Gertie. The squares are from the same piece of ds paper. I added some twinkles along the bottom of the scallops border to give the image some bling. I used a quickie glue pen and some glitter on the rain. I popped up the panel with the image on because I can never seem to send cards without any dimension!

Aquamarine Bellariffic
Happy Friday - this weeks Bellariffic Friday's theme was to use the birthstone colour of March - aquamarine.
For my card I chose one of the sweet Bittyblooms - Poppy Bittybloom. The image was stamped with mementos ink onto bella's bestest paper and coloured with copics. I paper pieced her dress in the ds paper from MME Stella & Rose - hazel collection. I paper pieced the flower and the flower on her hat and popped them up for dimension. I found some turquoise thread and stitched around the layers. I added some primas and rhinestones to finish off my card.
Please stop by Bloggabella to see the rest of the babes creations and what the sistah's came up with. Next weeks Bellariffic Fridays theme Easter - send your cards to Em by Thursday to be included next week & you could win some bella bucks.
Thanks so much for stopping by & have a great day

It's March Already?!
I can't believe it's already March - maybe it's because I was away until Saturday (16-26) at my parent's "babysitting" My Mom had knee replacement surgery so I went out to take care of them - I left them with a freezer full of meals; something I never do for hubby (and he noted that!!) BUT it's my parents so I had to! I'm happy to report my Mom was getting around really well before I left so my brother who lives in town is now in charge of care :)
The other reason I can't believe it's March is how cold it is here! Yesterday we had a daytime high of -25C with a windchill of -33 (-13F & -27) it's suppose to go up to -12 this week then back to cold; really is spring anytime soon?! My image for this months calendar shows my optimism for warmer temps because Izzie (from Stamping Bella) has a daisy & only needs a sweater! I coloured Izzie has a Daisy with copics and chose some mint green in honour of St Patrick's day this month.
Just a reminder this weeks Bellariffic Fridays theme this month is March's birthstone- Aquamarine. Just use any of the shades in this inspirational photo on your card & email it to Em by Thursday to be included!
I hope the temps are warmer at your house! Have a great day & thanks for stopping by
