Ding goes the cheese-o-meter!

If you are a fan of pizza, you should give Hayn's Pizza a try! It's been around a while, but this is still one of our favourite weekend pizza joints, so very close to home (i.e., no need to go into the heart of KL especially on Merdeka eve .. haha) It is fast, cheap and good! What's more, if you live in the Hartamas area, they do free delivery.
The reason we like this pizza is because it Hits the BELL at the top of the CHEESE-O-METER! Also, for the largest Pizza Funghi, 18inch, it is only RM24. What a steal..

They don't charge corkage, so we nipped down to Denise wines (5 shops away) and picked up a nice Riesling . Mmmmm, it went really well with the Pizza:D

Hmmmm... what was that we spied with our cheesy eye... LEARD a wine a day! How cute:D

My cheez runneth over...

Apparently they are selling these skinny man jeans at Top Shop. That's what my colleague says.. He wants to go buy a pair so that he can look like Al Pacino.

I pause for a minute, and try not to say anything rude, or burst out laughing. Then I say, fine, you go try on your Al Pacino look... I'll go wait for you at lunch.

(Little does he know that it takes a hell of a lot more than just a pair of skinny jeans to get close to looking like Pacino... ya think?! muahahahah..., ok la.. how cruel :D)

I love California Pizza! Old place... but still GOOD!

One of the salads that I cannot resist here at California Pizza is the Mediterranean. I don’t know if it’s the amazing mix of chilled salad of cucumbers, red onions, fresh tomatoes and Greek olives tossed with crisp Romaine leaves and lemon-herb vinaigrette… or the silky smooth (like the Zohan.. haha) but rich and nutty flavour of the hummus... which makes this the most palatable starter to the meal.

Topped with Feta cheese, sun-dried tomatoes and served with pita bread I hungrily devour everything on my plate! You can even ask for additional grilled rosemary chicken breast, grilled shrimp, or sautéed salmon. I opted for shrimp, which was crunchy and brought a sweet, fleshy, full-bodied taste to the dish. This means you add on another RM13.00 to the plate of salad (RM14.50). Hefty. But worth it.

Of all the pizzas my personal favourite is of the Neapolitan sort! These are the thin crust pizzas they serve at California Pizza… A combination of grilled spicy Italian sausage and sweet Italian sausage with sautéed wild mushrooms… not to mention oozing with a generous amount of Mozzarella and Parmesan cheeses, gets me drooling every time! This plus the topping of fresh herbs makes this one of the yummiest pizzas in town:) The price , RM32.00 for a huge-ass pizza, chocked full with the good stuff .

(can you see in the picture how the meat and mushrooms are overflowing?!)

My only complaint is not enough tomato base... but what to do.. you can't win em all...

Finally, no meal is complete without dessert. Made from Granny Smith apples, slow-baked with a crispy brown sugar and butter topping… and a MASSIVE dollop of ice-cream with caramel sauce… this is my favourite dessert here…

Hmmm.. will the real Al Pacino... please stand up... You need to get the bill:P

Bianco Damansara Perdana

Gawd, I LOVE great pizza. I really do.

What's bad about loving great pizza , is that you normally, are hard pressed to find 'OK', or even at best good pizza...

But great.. ah... that's something else.

And great and cheap... near impossible! Right? wrong...

<span class=

Here sits a GREAT pizza.

It's called the 'Bianco Special' - spinach, ricotta cheese , topped with an egg.

It's Bianco restaurant's most marvelous work.. it really is.

And what's better than a great pizza? A great, affordable pizza!

This pizza only costs RM18 and is bursting with gorgeousness.

Bianco is located in Damansara Perdana, and looks like the most unlikely place to serve anything which will knock your socks off.

But if you ever visit the place, the pizza is a must.

It's got a cute selection of cup cakes and ginger cakes too..

Bianco is mainly outdoor sitting, under the stars, or if it rains, it has a canopy handy.

We had the calamari rings, which were so-so.. Crispy and well deep fried, but there were more deep fried zucchini than there were calamari... The calamari had hardly any flavour :(

<span class=

The Duck Risotto sounded really exotic and exciting, but while it was nicely presented, the stuffing was way too salty and the texture of the risotto too heavy.

See.. generous with their filing.. but oh so salty!

<span class=

The Marinara was also on the 'so-so' side. Nothing spectacular and lacking in that seafood-oceanic flavour...

<span class=

And for dessert, as the grand finale, we had, the apple cinnamon mascarpone cheese pizza... Yup! sweet, sweet pizza... bring it on...

It was delicious (and that's why i say, only the pizzas are worth the try at this restaurant), but we could not taste the mascarpone cheese ... boo-hoo :(

I think it's coz mascarpone cheese is way expensive, and that if they used it, Bianco would be force to hike up the prizes of their dessert.. don't u think?

Food : 3/10
Pizza :7/10
MSG level : low
Service : Good

THE STORY CONTINUES...

Then.. as we were sitting there, under the moonlight, digesting our food...

my friend whips out her new HTC Touch...

JEALOUS!!!

It's gorgeous! Totally a chick's phone. The white one that is..

(they also do it in a sleek, sexy black that guys may like i suspect...)

Anyway, here it is... !

Cute right? Even has the sun and moon to tell you the week's weather..

And it's cheap too... only RM1900.

And the coolest part... is that it has this touch flo interface.. like the ipod...

Just slide your thumb over the screen to move the icons..

And then, my OTHER friend decided to whip out his mobile phone the O2, because he was feeling left out..

See? It's virtually the same size.. innit?

But the HTC is like a zillion times lighter...

AND...

... WAY slimmer than the O2 !!!

What's more, they just launched the Ty TN II ... (the mighty Titan!! )
GPRS and Wifi...! How cool is that ? But like RM3K man..

I don't care.. I want the HTC. I'm gonna get it.

Tomorrow.
