Tokeiya ... tres delicious ! (Kobe Beef experienced in KOBE)
There is nothing more gratifying than eating a particular dish in the place it was named after...
E.g. French loaves in France,
English muffins in England,
and...
Kobe Beef in Kobe...
ooo... bliss...
I beg your pardon... about the spat of Japanese blogs... the fad will pass.. i promise.. (maybe)
I mean.. look at this place... the saziki style dining (on floor but with sunken area for those who are arthritic and cannot kneel for prolonged hours), the kimono-ed waitress.. and not to mention the adorable simmer dishes and the generous portions of prime cut kobe beef, were enough to warrant a whole separate blog on its own, i reckon...
this is what marbling steak looks like.. before it becomes kobe steak...
this is what marbling sukiyaki cuts look like.. before it becomes.. (no points for guessing) sukiyaki beef hot pot...
Anyways, our menu from the top was :
Sha-bu Sha-bu (sliced beef boiled with vegetables)
SukiyakiNabe (one-pot cooking)
Te-chiri, Kani-suki(blowfish and crab pot) erm.. i cannot seem to find my FUGU photos (rats!) but this again, is begging for another whole separate blog... "akan datang"...
... and a whole loada SAKE ... burp...
If i were and animal... any animal... i would be a cow...
... to live and be fed lots of beer,
...to laze and to be massaged with sake,
... to never toil in the simmering heat of the plow, but to sit in air-conditioning ... and finally...
.. to die from over-eating tres tres rich and yummie food ...
amen
