Who shoe? Wushu!
.
I even want to try my hand...
at the WUSHU! ( bless you! teehee)
Pick a weapon.. strike a pose..! I wanna be a hero in the movies!
In the end, we decided on an old favourite.. this place has been around since the middle of 2004... and since we haven't had Balinese food in like erm... well, since our last trip to bali, we thought it was a good choice.
Stepping inside Bumbu Bali, you feel like you have been transported back to an art shop in Ubud.
The paintings and carvings on display make me wish i was in flip-flops, hanging around on holiday... exploring the Ida Bagus Marka gallery in Kemenuh Ubud, or something holiday-ish like that...
oh well... one can always day dream.
Back to the Bumbu - this place is really pretty hip and happening. You can even make reservations/ check promotions via their business enquiry SMS. Not bad huh?
So what did we eat? Since we've been over-eating of late, this time round, less carbo.. more meats!
The famous BBQ combo, and the campur-campur tiga.
The BBQ combo was essentially BBQ chicken and squid (RM26.80). This turned out to be too salty and marinated to death - too much of a sensory overkill really. We could not distingush one taste from the other. The chicken tasted like squid and vice versa.
The campur-campur tiga was a mix platter of BBQ chicken wings, satay lilit and deep fried calamari - with 3 types of dips (RM30.00). This was also on the salty side, extremely greasy and the chicken wings were soggy.
I think Bumbu Bali has seen better days.. :(
On our way out , we saw this sign and were briefly tempted to sign up...
But only ever so briefly... ;)
