Thai Market Font

DSC07476 DSC07480

It's such an unusual sight, when it pulls into plain view... but, there is it...

Thai Market Font (cute name!), 43G, Jalan Pandan Indah 4/6B, Pandan Indah!

This place is really cool... what you will first see, is the van, from which the freshest most greenest, Som Tam and salads are produced by 100% authentic Thais. The food they serve here is mainly from Chiang mai, Chiang rai.

The ground floor is actually a sundry shop for Thai produce e.g. dried chili, snacks, biscuits.. etc.. , and upstairs, on the 1st floor, is the restaurant.

Being a huge fan of the Som Tam, it's really exciting watching the young girl fix my papaya salad!

She is really skilled with her hands and whips up the salad in NO time flat. She tells us, "Go sit upstairs... and order the rest of your food. We will send the Som Tam shortly!"

So...we head on upstairs..

...but not before we take some shots of the goodies that her van has to offer :D

Delicious pork mince...

Bamboo salad with "tong-fun" which was very, very good! (I had 1 whole huge plate on my own later!)

Fried fish and sausages...

DSC07488
Deep fried pork strips, chicken and dried fish...

Prettily coloured desserts.. all in a row..

And Satays in every shape, form and size you can imagine... !

Wow! A Thai Treat, that's what it is :)

Upstairs, the restaurant is totally authentic, from the Thai Karaoke playing on the TV, to the fake bottled coke (no taste la, the coke.. i swear it was fake.. lol) ... Restaurant Baan Nok was starting to get packed for lunch.

The Som Tam was heaven in a dish. Refreshingly crunchy, spicy and sour. We loved it!

The Pad Thai is one of the best I have eaten in KL. It looked a little soggy but was FAR from that!

The Pad Thai was perfection on a plate! Just mix it up with the peanut and dig in!

Upon closer inspection, you will see that the noodle is slightly thinner than most of the Pad Thai noodle you get around town. The texture is springy yet tough.. soft and silky, yet FIRM! and.. oh.. so sweet... :P

Very, very impressed.

At the back, near the kitchen, a Thai lady sits, preparing the pulut rice for sale..
