Debby Hughes´s photography desk

I have admired Debby´s work for a long time now, but I also love the photos she takes of her cards so I thought it was a great post when I saw this.

You may think it is not storage but it is part of her Craft Studio set up and I think now a days having a photo system is quite essential.

Recently Karin finished her scraproom in her new house. Her room is so well organized!
I love the labels she maid for the plastic boxes. For more information visit her blog: Karin's Scrablog.

Jessica's updated crafts room!

When I joined the Crafty Storage team, I told Paula that I think I may enjoy organizing my crafts room more than I like actually crafting. So it was with glee that I was "forced" to reorganize my crafts room when we bought a treadmill (that we decided to keep in the room.)

Here's a view of my main workspace, my desk. You'll notice my punches and ribbon are close at hand, and a peg board holds most of my tools within easy reach.
I have a LOT of Ikea items in my crafts room. It's my go-to store for organization furniture and accessories! Another store I like to browse for storage options is my local hardware store. That's where I found the storage cabinets below (meant for garage storage of nails and such) that hold small embellishments such as brads, flowers, and eyelets.
You can see more of my updated crafts room on my blog, including photos of my previous room(s).

Do you have a fun and funky crafts room that you want to share? If so, please email the crafty storage team with a link to your blog, and you may just be the next featured crafter!

Denise's studio

Denise is pretty proud and excited about her scrapbooking room. The desk is a smart desk with a plug outlet in the top right drawer. The desk, shelves, and cabinet are from Pottery Barn Teen. The paper is stored in an armoire that lost it's door in a move and worked perfectly for vertical storage. The patterned paper is stored in the tall paper storage that Denise bought from a scrapbooking store that went out of business.

Organizing MY Craft Desk Top

This is my craft desk top.
I know it's very busy but I like to have my stuff "at hand" when I'm working.
When I was looking for ideas to organize the top of my desk I shopped in the kitchen department at the local Walmart.
I found these Rubbermaid Interlocking Mesh Drawer Organizers and I thought they'd be great for grouping supplies together.
If I need to, I can easily take one organizer out and use the supplies in another area of my house. I also found this Made Smart expandable shelf organizer (for spice bottles) for under $10 at Walmart. It's expandable from 14" to 27".
Because it steps up the drawer organizers in height, I can see what's in them and find what I need more easily.
This works for me and I hope it gives you some ideas to help you organize your craft space too!

round & round...

While doing anything crafty, I often find myself struggling to have all necessary supplies within reach.  So, I had to get a little creative (although, I'm fairly certain there are others who have successfully completed this task as well).

I decided that this plan would be best used inside my classroom...with a home version soon to follow.  As a 7th grade language arts and social studies teacher, I'm constantly using my colored pencils, markers, scissors, etc.  You'll also notice a gavel (I teach the Leadership/ASB class), some hand sanitizer, a few numbered popsicle sticks, and Smencils.  Some of these items are not all that similiar to what you might find in your own crafting stash.  No worries.  It should work just the same.

All you need is one Lazy Susan, and a few containers that will fit atop your spinning wheel.  Next up, grab your glue gun and turn it on.  While you're waiting for it to heat up, arrange your containers (you can even trace them on the surface of your Lazy Susan).  Now it's time to glue it all down.  From there, all you've got left to do is fill the containers with your favorite crafting supplies!  Be sure you spin the Lazy Susan...just because you can!  :)

P.S.  My name is Anne and I'm soooooooooooo excited to be a part of this Crafty Storage team!  I hope to be back soon with more ideas to share.  Right now, we're in the midst of rearranging our spare bedroom/my crafting room.  Perhaps this blog will serve as a bit of a motivator for me too!
