My Anchor Card

Hello!  The August challenge at Waffle Flower Crafts is just about to wrap up!  Pop over to the blog for details and to play along!  I loved the soft colors in this month's inspiration photo and went with some pretty grays and blues for this card:

I think the Life Anchor Stamp Set and Matching Die is such a great little set!  I love the sentiments and the fact that there is a tiny little face to make the anchor even cuter :)  I paired it with the border stamp from the Doily Circle Stamp Set- I think it makes perfect waves!  Here, I stamped them with new Waffle Flower Dye Inks in Peace of Mind, New Fish in Pond, and Like a Pro.

If you have time to play along, I hope you will!  Pop over to the Waffle Flower blog for more inspiration from the Challenge Design Team!

Hope you're having a great day!!

A Blue Bird Card

Hello!  Hope your day is going well!  I just finished up my homework and have a few extra minutes until I head off to school!  I'm enjoying the sunshine on my back porch :)  Today is pretty great!

I wanted to share a card I created a little while ago.  It features the adorable bird stamps by W Plus 9.  I just love these stamps!  They remind me of one of my favorite artists, Charley Harper :)  I love his work and had to have these stamps as soon as they came out!  Here is what I made with them:

I stamped and watercolored this little scene on Stampin' Up!'s shimmer paper.  It is a nice thick cardstock and watercolor works well on it.  I love that the whole thing shimmers- it's subtle but so pretty!

This stamp set is sure to get some more use soon!  I think it is the cutest :)

Hope you have a great day!

You are my Anchor Card

Hello!

How is everything with you?  Is your month as crazy as mine has been? :)  I am trying to keep up with it all but sadly my poor blog has been last in line for attention... sorry!

I had a tiny bit of time this morning and have been wanting to share the cards I made for the Waffle Flower Crafts Summer Release.  This one is simple but turned out to be one of my favorites:

Anchors are perfect for this time of year and I pulled out the new Life Anchor Stamp Set to play with first.  I made this one with my hubby in mind- it was our 15th anniversary last week :)  I stamped out the anchors with Stampin' Up! Basic Black ink onto the smooth side of some watercolor paper.  I used watercolors to paint them in and let them dry.  After they were dry, I ran them through the diecut machine with the matching Life Anchor Die to cut them out.  I added some gray twine to each of them, finishing with a knot near the anchor.  My white cardbase has been embossed using a wide stripe embossing folder.  I adhered my anchors using foam adhesive and then stamped my sentiments.  I cut a small slit in the top of the card to slide the twine through.  I adhered it inside the card.

I have been creating a bunch of fun things!  Hopefully I will find time in the next few days to share everything :)

Hope you have a great day!

A Bicycle for Two Card

Hello!  Hope your Monday is going well!  I've been running around getting things on my to do list done :)  I only have one thing left and I can't do it until later!  Yay!  Since I had a little free time I thought I'd pop on and share a card I made recently with some cute Stampin' Up! goodies!

I picked up the fun Pedal Pusher Stamp Set during Sale-a-bration this year!  I love bike stamps and this one with an adorable basket had to be mine!  I stamped it out on watercolor paper and used my inkpads to watercolor it in.  The sentiment is from another favorite- the Endless Thanks Stamp Set.  These work so well together!

I was so happy to pick this one up!  Yay for free stamp sets! :)

Hope you have a great day!

On My List Today...

Hi!

I made it through my final projects for the semester!  Yay!  Now to catch up on everything else around the house :)  First on my list...

Laundry!  Hee Hee!  Coloring laundry and adding cute sequins would be way more fun :)  This stamp set from Lawn Fawn is seriously cute!  I colored this with watercolors and then created a fun shaker element to the washing machine.  I added bits of pattern paper to ground it and stamped the sentiment below.  Can you see the tiny bubbles in the background?

I do have laundry to do today but I am spending a fair share of the day crafting too!  Yay for crafty time!!  I am so glad to have a break from school :)

Welcome Spring Card- inspired by the Waffle Flower Challenge!

Hello!
Happy Monday!  Today I'm playing along with this month's Waffle Flower Challenge.   We are focusing on watercolor this month and it has been so fun!  Here is my card:

This month's challenge is to use a watercoloring technique.  I grabbed the sweet Welcome Spring Stamp Set to use- I thought it would be perfect for watercoloring!  I stamped the grass out first, using two colors of green for depth.  Next, I stamped the tulip with Staz On black ink.  I watercolored the green using the darker green I stamped the grass with and used a pretty pink for the flower.  I used the lighter green ink to go over the grass with watercolor too.  I stamped the sentiment and then cut the panel so that the flower looked like it was hanging over the edge.

I used white cardstock to create my cardbase and then stamped the butterflies on the top portion.  I added some yellow watercolor in the same spots as well.  I splattered the watercolor all over the front of the card base and then added my focal panel with a bit of yellow cardstock and patterned paper to set it off.

The Waffle Flower Challenge runs through Friday of this week so if you have time and love watercolor, play along!  These new spring sets are just perfect for it!

Grateful For You Card

Hi!

I have been on a Thank You card making kick lately and it's been fun!  I saved one to photograph for my blog before handing them out today :)  Here it is:

So, I used goodies from my stash for this one!  Everything is older except for the new embossing folder- I love these wide stripes!  It's from Heidi Swapp.  The label die is also newer- from the fall anyhow- and by Lawn Fawn.  I used the pretty Blossoming Buds stamp set from Paper Smooches to and stamped the flowers onto a tag cut out of watercolor paper.  I painted them in with my ink pads.  The papers are from an older October Afternoon 8x8 pad called Woodland Park- I still love these designs!

I hope you had a great holiday season!  My girls are excited to be getting back to school tomorrow.  I start next week- after CHA!!  I'll be working with Nina and a few other DT girls in the Waffle Flower Booth!  If you're heading there be sure to stop by and say hi! :)

Thanks for stopping by!

Teacher, You Rule!

I can't believe that school will starting soon!  We still have a few adventures before we go back but we did pick up all of our school supplies this week!  :)  Going through them all inspired me to play along with the most recent Lawnscaping Challenge:

I love my Lawn Fawn stamps!  I pulled out the Party Animal set along with the A Good Apple Set to create my card:

I used watercolor paper and Prima Watercolor Pencils to color the images in.  I added the white embossed sentiment to the chalkboard when it was all dry.  These were fun and so easy to use!
I used a few scraps of paper from the Sweater Weather 6x6 pad and a bit of the new twine from Stampin' Up! for embellishment.

Well, it isn't time for school yet!  We still have a few beach days and a hike in the mountains planned before we all get back on our school schedule- I'm thankful for that! :)

Hope you enjoy your day and thanks for stopping by!

A Leafy Thank You for Waffle Flower Crafts

Hi- hope you're having a great day today!  We were busy today but I have almost everything knocked off my to do list now... except for blogging and making one more card!  Luckily I saved the best for last! :)

Today I'm sharing another card I made for the Waffle Flower Crafts release!  This one features the new Leafy Stamp and Die sets- they are so pretty!

I did a little watercoloring and added some tone on tone stamping to the green and the yellow panels. I stamped the outline of the flower and then added the color with the shadow stamp to color it in.  So easy and pretty!  The inks were from the Summer and Spring Blend Ink Pads.

I love the mix of fonts on the sentiment, aren't they pretty?  I love this entire set really- it has a great mix of images and it was really fun to work with :)

Don't forget to pop over to the Waffle Flower Crafts Blog to see what else is new today!

Love You Mush!

This week's Lawnscaping Challenge is to use watercolor :)  It's one of my favorites so I thought I'd play along using the adorable Gleeful Garden set:

I started with a panel of watercolor paper and used a sponge to add some light green and blue inks to the background.  I splattered it with watercolor and used a paper towel to soak it up.  Next I stamped out the grasses and the snail.  I painted over the inside of the images with water and soaked it up too!  This erased the background color so I was able to use lighter colors without having the green mixed in to the little snail.

I stamped the mushrooms onto a scrap of watercolor paper and cut them out.  I watercolored them in and when they were dry, I added them to the panel with foam adhesive.  I added the sentiment, a strip of patterned paper by Bella Blvd. and some twine to the panel.  Then I added it to a blue card front using foam adhesive for dimension.

This stamp set is so cute!!  I'm glad I finally got to pull it out to play!

Here is the challenge graphic- if you have time, you should play along, too! :)

Thanks for popping by today!  Hope you have a great weekend!

Sunday School Songs Card Set

The girls sing with the choir at our church and they have the most amazing teacher!  I picked up the Sunday School Songs stamp set by Neat and Tangled just so I could make her a special set of cards:

I mixed in a few other fun stamp sets and some sticker sentiments from SRM Stickers for this set.  The papers are from the I Am collection by Simple Stories.  I think they are all from the 6x6 pad :)

I also mixed in a bunch of sequins from different companies!  My favorites right now are the Neat and Tangled ones and the mixed bunches from Lawn Fawn.

I gave the cards to the girls' teacher a few weeks ago and she loved them.  It's so fun to give card sets as gifts to people who use them, isn't it? :)

These were a lot of fun to make- I love how they look all together as a set!  I need to make more like this!

A Watercolored Rainbow for Paper Sweeties

Good morning!  I'm off to a bit of a late start thanks to the weather- school is still not starting on time but at least they are having it!  I'm feeling a bit cooped up after the last week and a half of cold :)

With the cold though came some springtime inspiration!  Yes, I'm dreaming of sunshine and flowers and rainbows!!  I pulled out some of my springtime favorites from Paper Sweeties and created a fun watercolored card:

The Rainbow and Roses Stamp Set has the cutest sentiments and rainbow image!  I stamped out the rainbow and a few clouds with Staz On ink onto watercolor paper and painted them with a rainbow of dye inks.  Once they were dry, I cut them out.  I diecut a background panel using a journaling card die and watercolor paper as well.  I used my favorite sky blue Copic marker to color it.

I put everything together and added a sprinkling of sequins from the Sweet{heart} Special Edition Sequins Pack- I love the iridescent and red/pink combo in this pack!

I thought it would be fun to add just one more element to this card and pulled out the umbrella stamp and die from the adorable Showering You With Love Set.  Don't these sets just belong together? :)

The umbrella was watercolored and then cut out using the matching die.  I love it when sets have matching dies and this was especially nice since I was using the heavy watercolor paper!  I added the umbrella towards the bottom on an angle.  It tells more of a story with the umbrella included.

Debbie was kind enough to feature this project on the Paper Sweeties blog today!  Thanks so much Debbie!  I had so much fun playing with my Paper Sweeties stamps!  They really brightened my day :)

You Rock Card

Hello!
I'm popping on today to share a card I made for the current Freshly Made Sketch Challenge:

I got some new Stampin' Up! goodies recently and was excited to use this one- it's called You Rock:

I stamped the rocker out with Staz On ink on watercolor paper.  I colored it with my Bermuda Bay ink pad.  I fussy cut around it and set it aside.  The background panel is also watercolor paper.  I sponged Calypso Coral ink over it and then splattered it with water to give it a splattered look.  I added the background panel onto my Sahara Sand card base and then stamped the sentiment.   I added the strip of gold striped vellum on the bottom.  The thread was added next and pinned down with the rocker which was adhered with dimensionals.  I added just a few sequins to finish off the look:

I always love playing along with Freshly Made Sketches!  I'm glad I had time- this sketch was so cute!!

Thanks for stopping by today!

Desert Flowers Card

Hi!

Waffle Flower Crafts posted their latest Inspirational Photo Challenge on Monday and I was so inspired by the colors!  I had the challenge in mind when I made this card:

I stamped the large flower image from the Potted Stamp Set on to watercolor paper with Staz On ink.  I used the residual inks from a few pretty Stampin' Up! ink pads to paint the image in.  I kept the paint light for a soft look.

I cut the panel into a 4.25x4.25 square and mounted it onto a kraft card base.  I stamped the border at the bottom of the panel from Pattern Play Stamp Set using the same navy ink I painted with above.

I have been in need of cards without sentiments lately so I decided not to stamp on on this.

Pop over to Waffle Flower Crafts to check out the inspiration!  :)

A Card for Craft Hoarders Anonymous

I'm playing along with the Craft Hoarders Anonymous Challenge today as one of their guest designers :)  If you haven't played along with one of their challenges yet you should check them out!  Any project is welcome- as long as you're busting some of that stash lol!

I pulled out some of my old favorites along with a few new pieces for this card.  It also features a gift card on the front- I do these every year for the teachers and the gift cards are getting cuter and cuter!  I love how they look on the front of cards :)

I started with a white card base and added the striped paper to the left hand side.  I added the scallop diecut edge to it next, cutting it the same length as the patterned paper.  The Starbucks gift card was next, taking main stage lol!  I added the sparkly snowflake next and then got to work on my sentiment layers.

I watercolored a piece of watercolor paper with various greens to mimic the green on the gift card.  When it was dry, I diecut it using the Holiday Fill In The Blank die set by Avery Elle.  I stamped the rest of the sentiment from the coordinating Holiday Fill In The Blank stamp set with Versamark onto vellum and embossed it with white powder.  Then, I diecut it using a long label die.

I layered the sentiments on to my card and added a bit of twine to finish it off.  I love the eclectic look I ended up with!  I can't wait to give this one to one of the girls' teachers :)

I had so much fun playing along with Craft Hoarders Anonymous this month!  Be sure to pop over to their blog to see what the rest of the team created!

Another Card Inspired by Project Runway :)

So last week was the finale of this season of Project Runway!  I loved it!  The outcome was what I was hoping for too- I loved the collection that won!  The concept, the colors, the fringe!!  So cool!

I was inspired to create a couple of cards based on the winning collection but my attempt of stamping fringe did not work out the way I had hoped lol!  Here is one that did turn out though:

I cut a panel of watercolor paper to 4x 5.5".  I watercolored it with black paint, fading the color as I painted up.  I let it dry and then cut the notches at the top with a small hole punch.  I wrapped some orange twine around the top and ended where I wanted the tassel to hang.  I was envisioning this as the back of one of the dresses in the winning collection- wouldn't that be pretty along the shoulder blades?

I created a tassel out of the same twine and adhered it to the card.  I stamped the sentiment with Versamark and embossed it with liquid platinum embossing powder.  It's acting as my jewelry along with the star sequins that matched the powder perfectly!  Hee Hee!

I loved Amanda this season and was a little sad that she lost but I didn't like her final collection as much as I thought I would...  Maybe because it seemed like a toned down version of her.  I'm tacky and loved the crazy quilting and stuff she did!  :)  Are you going to watch the All Star season that's starting this week?  You know I am!  I haven't peeked at who's coming back but I'm hoping some of my old favorites will be on again- it's fun to see what they're up to now, isn't it?

Thanks for stopping by today!
