Origami Map Card

Hi!
Hope you are enjoying the holidays!  I am nearly caught up with everything lol!  It was a tough season for me- sooo much going on!  Fun stuff though- don't think I'm trying to complain or anything hee!!

I realized over the weekend that I forgot to post this card last week.  I am playing along with the Craft Hoarders Anonymous Challenge as a guest designer this month.  The challenge is to create a travel themed project and I knew I had to use this awesome Origami Map stamp set- I've been hoarding it since I bought it! lol!  Here's my card:

I stamped the map onto watercolor paper and cut it into a large tag shape.  I watercolored the map with q-tips and tried to use colors I'd find on a real map.  The sentiment was stamped onto black cardstock with Versamark and embossed with white powder.  The brad and patterned papers are from Teresa Collins.

I'm so happy I remembered to post this!  Better late than never I guess... :)  Don't forget to pop over to the Craft Hoarders Anonymous Challenge blog to check out the travel challenge!  Thanks again for having me!!

A Card for Craft Hoarders Anonymous

I'm playing along with the Craft Hoarders Anonymous Challenge today as one of their guest designers :)  If you haven't played along with one of their challenges yet you should check them out!  Any project is welcome- as long as you're busting some of that stash lol!

I pulled out some of my old favorites along with a few new pieces for this card.  It also features a gift card on the front- I do these every year for the teachers and the gift cards are getting cuter and cuter!  I love how they look on the front of cards :)

I started with a white card base and added the striped paper to the left hand side.  I added the scallop diecut edge to it next, cutting it the same length as the patterned paper.  The Starbucks gift card was next, taking main stage lol!  I added the sparkly snowflake next and then got to work on my sentiment layers.

I watercolored a piece of watercolor paper with various greens to mimic the green on the gift card.  When it was dry, I diecut it using the Holiday Fill In The Blank die set by Avery Elle.  I stamped the rest of the sentiment from the coordinating Holiday Fill In The Blank stamp set with Versamark onto vellum and embossed it with white powder.  Then, I diecut it using a long label die.

I layered the sentiments on to my card and added a bit of twine to finish it off.  I love the eclectic look I ended up with!  I can't wait to give this one to one of the girls' teachers :)

I had so much fun playing along with Craft Hoarders Anonymous this month!  Be sure to pop over to their blog to see what the rest of the team created!

Happy Easter Card

Happy Easter Card 1

Hi there!  How's your day going?  Mine is pretty slow...  I have a pile of laundry to fold but that's about it until the girls get home from school!  I thought I'd kill a few minutes and pop on here to share a card.

My friend Donna is part of the fun new Craft Hoarders Anonymous challenge blog and I thought I'd play along with them this week.  The challenge was to use stamps!  :)  Hee!  Not hard for me- I'm definitely a stamp hoarder!  This cute set by Avery Elle has been in my stash since January or February so it's nice to get it inked up finally!  I also used another hoarded item- this hexagon die by Stampin' Up!

This card also fits in with today's Simon Says Stamps Wednesday challenge so I'm going to link up there, too! :)

I wanted a clean and simple look so I stuck with white cardstock.  I stamped little images inside some of the hexagons.  The sentiment and some vines are stamped on a vellum circle- I layered my fox right over it, creating a focal point cluster.  I love that cute fox!

Well, I hope you enjoy the rest of your day!  Thanks for stopping by my blog! :)
