A Stitchable Donut Card

Hello and Happy Friday!  This is my last Friday off this summer!  Even though it was a weird summer that moved very slowly, here on the last day it feels like it sped by!  I am excited to be back to work though and can't wait to see my students, even if only virtually!

I created a few other cards for the Stitchables release from Waffle Flower Crafts earlier in the month.  I thought I'd share one of them with you today!

stitched card front

I used the Stitchable Circles Die to along the bottom of a white card base.  I stitched the donuts using DMC floss in a caramel brown and bright pink color.  I added seed beads from my bead stash to create the look of sprinkles.  The sentiment from the Stitched Sentiments Stamp Set was perfect for this card!

This stitched design was made into a free downloadable pattern.  Pop over to the Stitchables area of the Waffle Flower Shop to find it!

Off to enjoy my last Friday off!  Have a great weekend!

Waffle Flower Stitchables Blog Hop

Hello friends!

I am so excited to be hopping along with the Waffle Flower team today!  For their latest release, Waffle Flower has merged two of my favorite crafts- card making and cross stitching!  Their new Stitchables products are so fun and innovative!

Waffle Flower’s Stitchable products are now available in the store!  In case you missed it, Nina introduced the beginner friendly Stitched Borders here, and the Pinking Shapes and Holiday Shapes for more experienced users. You can also find some Coordinating Products here!

I created two cards for the hop today!  I pulled inspiration some two patterns I stitched last year.  The first one is part of Hands On Design's Chalk Full: Harvest and inspired by Priscilla Blain.  I pulled one flower from the pattern to stitch on the Stitchables Pinking Circle Die.

I cut the die from black cardstock and gave it a chalkboard look with white pigment ink before I stitched the flower.  The design was meant to look like chalkboard art and I love that you can diecut any color paper to use with the Stitchable Pinking Dies.  Endless possibilities, right?  Here is a closer look:

This was stitched using overdyed threads by Gentle Arts Sampler Threads and Classic Colors.  I also used the new Stitched Sentiment Stamp Set for the sentiment and stitched with my sewing machine on either side of it to keep with the theme.

My second card features the smallest llama from the Llama Lump pattern by Plum Street Samplers.  I stitched him up on some linen textured kraft cardstock cut with the Stitchable Pinking Rectangle Die.

This was also stitched using overdyed threads from Gentle Arts Sampler Threads, Classic Colors, and Weeks Dye Works.  You can really see the varigation in the grass and the llama's fur :)

The sentiment is also from the Stitched Sentiments Stamp Set.  The simple hello is perfect for this card!

These dies really sparked my imagination to think up a bunch of fun things to do with them!  I can't wait to share some of the other things I've been stitching soon!

Mini Gift Bags

I have a card to share inspired by the latest Waffle Flower Challenge today!  I used the cute new Little Gifts 3-D Die for this birthday card:

I cut out a bunch of the mini bags and toppers to begin with.  Some were cut from cardstock and others from patterned paper.  I added a couple of patterns and accessories from the Little Gifts Stamp Set.  The mini tag also comes from there!  Once they were all stamped, I placed them on top of a panel cut from the Lacy Layers 2 Die.  I added a sentiment from the Bowtiful Stamp Set as well.

I chose a fun, bright pink cardbase for this one.  I used the little swirl and dot stamps from the Peace on Earth Stamp Set to create a birthday-worthy background.  Stamping it with Versamark gave it a tone on tone look.

I hope you'll join us for our challenge this month!  The inspiration colors are so fun this time around!  Pop over to the challenge post on the Waffle Flower Blog for more information!

A Bright and Cheerful Christmas Card

Who's counting down the days until Christmas?  I have to admit- I am already excited about the holidays being here!  I was happy for back to school and Halloween stuff is out everywhere now!  Just a few more weeks and we will be seeing Christmas everywhere!

I love bright and cheerful Christmas cards!  For my Watch It Wednesday post on the Waffle Flower Crafts blog this week, I thought I would try to create a card using Christmas lights as my inspiration.  Here is how it turned out:

I used the Shower Stamp Set to create the polka-dotted background.  I stamped the bubbles in Waffle Flower's new dye ink pads in Chirp! Chirp!, My Pleasure, You Said What?, Happy Go Lucky, and New Fish in Pond.  Aren't they pretty?  I also stamped over them with white pigment ink.

The sentiment is from the new Peace on Earth Stamp Set.  I love the scripty font :)  Here, I heat embossed it using white powder.  I added that panel to a layer from the Pinking Layers Die and added it to my bright pink card base.  I added a bit of twine and some adorable jingle bells that I found in my stash.

If you'd like to see this all in action, I made a video!  It is up on the Waffle Flower blog today and also on their YouTube channel.  Pop over to check it out!

Thanks for stopping by today!  It's been awhile since I've blogged and I keep meaning to get back into it.  With school and everything, it's been a little harder than I thought to find time!  Hopefully I will be back soon with some cards I made for the Waffle Flower release :)

My Anchor Card

Hello!  The August challenge at Waffle Flower Crafts is just about to wrap up!  Pop over to the blog for details and to play along!  I loved the soft colors in this month's inspiration photo and went with some pretty grays and blues for this card:

I think the Life Anchor Stamp Set and Matching Die is such a great little set!  I love the sentiments and the fact that there is a tiny little face to make the anchor even cuter :)  I paired it with the border stamp from the Doily Circle Stamp Set- I think it makes perfect waves!  Here, I stamped them with new Waffle Flower Dye Inks in Peace of Mind, New Fish in Pond, and Like a Pro.

If you have time to play along, I hope you will!  Pop over to the Waffle Flower blog for more inspiration from the Challenge Design Team!

Hope you're having a great day!!

Mermaid Garden Card

Hello!  Hope your Wednesday is going well!  I am spending my day with my family at the beach.  That might have been what inspired today's card!  There is also a video of how to make it up on the Waffle Flower Crafts Blog and Youtube Channel for this week's Watch It Wednesday segment :)  I used the lovely Faye from the Little Mermaids Stamp Set to create this card:

I created a tone-on-toned stamped background using the Little Mermaids Stamp Set and pretty new Waffle Flower Inks in New Fish in Pond and Peace of Mind.   Faye is watercolored and diecut using the matching Little Mermaids Die.

A Sketchy Birthday Card

Hello!

Happy Wednesday!  I though I'd pop on early this morning and share a card I made for this week's Watch It Wednesday series for Waffle Flower Crafts!  You'll have to pop over to the Waffle Flower Blog to check out the video but here is a look at the card I made:

I went for a fun, layered look with this one!  I used the Sketchy Numbers Stamp Set along with the Lacy Layers Die to create my card along with some fun new embellishments from my stash.

I created a layered background that peeks through the vellum and heat embossed the focal image with white embossing powder.

Hope you enjoy the video!  I am hoping to get a few cards made this afternoon :)  There are only a few errands on my list today- including a trip to the craft store!  Fun Fun Fun!

Thanks for stopping by!

Dancing Sharks Card

Hello!

It's been a few weeks since my last post, hasn't it!  Things have just started to slow down a bit :)  I had an unexpected trip to Washington come up and finals for my summer courses come up.  Oh how I am glad they are over!  Now I can relax and enjoy the rest of the summer...

For this month's Waffle Flower Designs Challenge card, I went with the sharks!  The colors were bright and colorful and boy I wish I knew how to photograph neons better!  This photo doesn't do it justice...

Summer means fun times and around here it can get a little goofy!  These sharks were so fun to stamp and cut out!  I made the card extra long to fit all of them on there together.  And of course, left shark is doing her own thing lol!

Hope your summer has been fun so far!  If you have time, be sure to join the challenge at Waffle Flower Crafts this month!  You can also pop by the Waffle Flower Blog to see what the rest of the team is sharing today!

A Snail's Happy Place Card

Hello!  Today I'm sharing a fun card I made for this month's Waffle Flower Challenge.  I loved the colors and the flowers shown in the inspirational photo- so pretty!  They inspired me to create this:

These little snails from the Snail Mail Stamp Set are so cute!  I imagined them in a little oasis of flowers in a garden somewhere in the shade- doesn't that sound like a happy place? :)  I stamped these pretty flowers from the A Bunch Stamp Set to go along with the adorable snails.  Everything has been painted with water and residual ink from my ink pads.  When everything was dry,  I used the matching A Bunch Die and Snail Mail Die to cut everything out.  The sentiment came from the fun, new Balloon Messages Stamp Set.

After everything was cut out, I layered it on to the pink card base.  I used some foam adhesive dots to add dimension here and there.  I love how it turned out!

Pop over to the Waffle Flower Blog to check out June's challenge and a few great cards from our design team!

Well, I hope your week is off to a great start!  Thanks for stopping by today!

Neon Hi Card

Hello!

Today I'm sharing a card I made for Watch It Wednesday at Waffle Flower Crafts.  I used the Jumbo Letter A-Z  Die Set to create a neon light look:

I used neon cardstock so in real life it's really bright and fun against the black background.  To a video of how it was created, pop over to the Waffle Flower Crafts Blog :)  While you're there, check out the catalog contest that is going on featuring these dies as well!

As I was editing the video I had this card sitting next to me at the desk and my daughter asked me why I made a card that said ih!  lol!  It was upside down... Goofy girl :)

Hope you have a great day!

You are my Anchor Card

Hello!

How is everything with you?  Is your month as crazy as mine has been? :)  I am trying to keep up with it all but sadly my poor blog has been last in line for attention... sorry!

I had a tiny bit of time this morning and have been wanting to share the cards I made for the Waffle Flower Crafts Summer Release.  This one is simple but turned out to be one of my favorites:

Anchors are perfect for this time of year and I pulled out the new Life Anchor Stamp Set to play with first.  I made this one with my hubby in mind- it was our 15th anniversary last week :)  I stamped out the anchors with Stampin' Up! Basic Black ink onto the smooth side of some watercolor paper.  I used watercolors to paint them in and let them dry.  After they were dry, I ran them through the diecut machine with the matching Life Anchor Die to cut them out.  I added some gray twine to each of them, finishing with a knot near the anchor.  My white cardbase has been embossed using a wide stripe embossing folder.  I adhered my anchors using foam adhesive and then stamped my sentiments.  I cut a small slit in the top of the card to slide the twine through.  I adhered it inside the card.

I have been creating a bunch of fun things!  Hopefully I will find time in the next few days to share everything :)

Hope you have a great day!

Leafy Watercolor Card and Video

Happy Wednesday!  School is kicking my butt this week- I am taking two math courses and a science course over the summer semester and they have started out with a bang!  Lots of homework... I think I should be all caught up for this weekend though!  We have nothing on our to do list so I am making plans to relax, craft a little, and maybe plant some flowers :)

Today I'm popping on to share the card I made for this week's Waffle Flower Craft's Watch It Wednesday Series.  I paired the Leafy Stamp Set with the cute little Faye Stamp Set for this one:

I show how I did the fun stamped watercolor background in the video :)  Pop over to the Waffle Flower Crafts Blog to watch!

Speaking of videos, I had an idea to film something a little different recently too!  I made a vlog- it's more of a chat really- about what I've been working on with my crafts this week.  I am going to give it a try and film every week or so to show my progress on projects, new things I'm working on, shopping trips, favorite tips and tricks and lots more!  Please subscribe to my YouTube channel if it sounds like something you're interested in!

I better start working on finishing my homework for this week so I can enjoy the upcoming weekend!  I am already looking forward to it!  Thanks for stopping by today!

With Love- a card for the Waffle Flower Challenge

Boy did the weekend go by fast!  I can't believe it's already Monday again.  That means it's time to share what I made for May's Waffle Flower Challenge!  Pop over to the challenge post to check out the inspiration photo.  I used the colors and the floral prints as inspiration for my card:

The stamped flowers are from the In Every Way Stamp Set.  I paired them with the With Love Word Die.  I used black ink and black cardstock with them to really make them bold looking on the light blue card base.

This month's inspiration was really fun!  The colors aren't something I would usually put together but I really like how this card turned out!

There is still time to play along!  Pop over to May's challenge post to check out the inspiration and submit your card!

Inlaid Diecutting With Vellum Card

Hello!

Hope your Wednesday is off to a good start!  I thought I'd pop on before my day starts to share a card I made for Waffle Flower Crafts Watch It Wednesday Series.  I used the new Flower Circles Inverted Die to create an inlaid diecut card with vellum:

Because the background was so detailed, I tried to keep everything else simple and bold.  I used a pretty coral color for the sentiment.  I used the Amazing Word Die to cut out the first part and a stamp from the In Every Way Stamp Set for the second part.  I added a couple of sequins for some sparkle as well!

If you'd like to see the video on how I made this, pop over to the Waffle Flower Blog today!  Hope you're doing well!

Thinking of You Card

Hi!  Today I have a fun card inspired by this month's Waffle Flower Challenge!  I loved the colors in the inspirational photo and the fact that the flowers were coming out of the umbrella- so cute!  I planted my flowers in a teacup to mimic the look:

The background was stamped with the beautiful Lacy Flower Stamp Set.  I used the largest image with white ink.  Next, I added a bit of white spatter over the top of it.  I let it dry and then embossed it with a wide stripe embossing folder.

The focal panel was cut using the Lacy Layers Die.  I stamped the sentiment from the Lacy Flower Stamp Set along the bottom.  I added a bit of washi to act as my foundation for my focal image.  The focal image was created using the Warm Wishes Stamp Set and the A Bunch Stamp Set.  I colored them with Copic markers and fussy cut around the image.  I added it to the card with a foam dot for dimension.

The challenge will be going on for a few more days!  Pop over to the Waffle Flower Blog to check out the inspiration for this month!  It's a cute one and if you play along, you'll have a chance to win some free goodies! :)

Need A Hug Card

Hello!

Hope you are doing well!  I have been bad about posting lately- sorry!  The last week of semester is coming up and everything is coming due!  I am looking forward to a little break before summer semester starts- hopefully I can share all the cute cards I've been making!

I thought I'd pop on and share one I made this week just for fun! :)  We are kitty people and I have been wanting to make a kitty-on-a-monkey's-head card since Nina came up with these adorable designs!

This monkey is from the Willy & Friends Stamp Set.  I paired him with the kitty from the Welcome Spring Stamp Set.  For this look, I stamped the kitty first and masked it before stamping the monkey.  I did a quick Copic coloring job and fussy cut around the image.  The sentiment is also from the Willy & Friends Stamp Set.  Isn't it perfect for this?  Hee Hee!

I've been using my favorite old patterned papers, twines, and sequins lately!  They might be oldies but they sure are goodies!

I'm glad I got to pop and share today!  I took a bunch of pictures of cards I've been making so be ready for post overload when I finish up with my school work this week!

Enjoy your weekend!!

Sisters Layout

Hello!
Can you believe it is already the last day of March?  With everything going on, this year has flown by so far!  I have been focusing on my schoolwork mainly but it is nice to switch gears and pull out my crafty stuff!  A few days ago, I was just in the mood to scrapbook!  I pulled out a cute photo of my girls and played around with the new Chunky Chevron Die by Waffle Flower Crafts:

The photo was from the 4th of July a couple of years ago so I went with mostly red, white, and blue for my colors.  I picked a pattern paper and a few stickers from Bella Blvd. to add as well!  I cut a bunch of chevrons out using the Chunky Chevron Die and layered them on white cardstock.  When you want a longer chevron piece, there is a tab that you can connect to make it all line up nicely!

I also added some stamping to the layout.  I wanted to add stars to look like splatter to the background so I used a light blue ink with the stars stamp from the Bowtiful Stamp Set.  The words are from the Bowtiful Additions Stamp Set.

Cuties!  I'm glad I got this photo added to my album!  You can also see the details in the chevrons in these closeups.

At the bottom, I added some more words- these ones are also from the Bowtiful and Bowtiful Additions Stamp Sets.

I hope the scrapbooking bug hits me again soon!  I love adding layouts to my album :)
Thank you for stopping by today!

Welcome Spring Card- inspired by the Waffle Flower Challenge!

Hello!
Happy Monday!  Today I'm playing along with this month's Waffle Flower Challenge.   We are focusing on watercolor this month and it has been so fun!  Here is my card:

This month's challenge is to use a watercoloring technique.  I grabbed the sweet Welcome Spring Stamp Set to use- I thought it would be perfect for watercoloring!  I stamped the grass out first, using two colors of green for depth.  Next, I stamped the tulip with Staz On black ink.  I watercolored the green using the darker green I stamped the grass with and used a pretty pink for the flower.  I used the lighter green ink to go over the grass with watercolor too.  I stamped the sentiment and then cut the panel so that the flower looked like it was hanging over the edge.

I used white cardstock to create my cardbase and then stamped the butterflies on the top portion.  I added some yellow watercolor in the same spots as well.  I splattered the watercolor all over the front of the card base and then added my focal panel with a bit of yellow cardstock and patterned paper to set it off.

The Waffle Flower Challenge runs through Friday of this week so if you have time and love watercolor, play along!  These new spring sets are just perfect for it!

Springtime Watercolor Card

Hi!

It's feeling like springtime here- how about where you are?  I've been wanting to play with pretty flower stamps and all things Easter!  Today I have an Easter card to share using a quick and simple watercoloring technique:

I used the cute Egg Hunt Stamp Set from Waffle Flower Crafts for this one.  Instead of painting in the background, I used a sponge applicator to add ink and then deleted it from the portions I wanted to paint a different color.  I created a video on this technique- Waffle Flower Crafts is featuring it today too!
