Abby Travels the Ghan

Hello Everybuddy, today Lisa arrived home from work and showed us some photos she and Abby took on their trip on the Ghan.  Abby is flying back to Merry Lands after her whirlwind tour.  She visited Alice Springs, Katherine, Darwin and Sydney.

 

 All Aboard!!

I'm ready Lisa.

First stop was Alice Springs, right in the middle of Australia.

During our stop in Alice, we went on a camel ride. Here's Lisa and some camel friends.

 

Can you pick Abby?  She is the first shadow.

 Next up, we went to visit some of the locals at the Desert Park.

Note the vulture, he knows how to tap a stone on the egg to crack it open, even if he's never seen another bird do it.  Just amazing.  

 Too hot for much jumping today.

Dust storm coming! Time to get back on the train. 

 Finke River, Northern Territory. It's nearly always dry. If you have seen it flowing three times, you are a Northern Territory local!

The next morning we arrived in Katherine, about 400kms south of Darwin. We went on a boat cruise through the Katherine Gorges.

On the rocks you can see Aboriginal artwork. These handprints were made thousands of years ago!

 

We finally arrived that night in Darwin. This is the Elizabeth River, which the Ghan crosses about 20 minutes before arriving in Darwin. If you look closely, you can see the buildings of Darwin on the horizon.

 
Before Abby had to fly home, we stopped in Sydney. We went to Taronga Park Zoo first, you have to take a cable car up the hill to get there.
 

The giraffes have the best views in the city!

Look closely at the bottom of the arch, you can see people climbing the bridge. You have the most amazing view from the top!

Presents from Jed and Abby

Hi Everybuddy, we had a wonderful surprise from our friends Jed and Abby in Merrylands, USA.  If you don't know Miss Abby is the Guardian of Ethics for the Mango Minster 2012.  They sent us a Christmas parcel and when it arrived we couldn't wait to get our paws on it.  Tyler was visiting our home too and he said he would help.  Here we go!

A Present from My Friends Jed and Abby

I had the most wonderful surprise arrive in our letterbox the other day.  It was a puppy present just for me.  It was from my friends Jed and Abby who live all the way across the world in Merrylands.

Hi Abby, Hi Jed.

 

All the family were very excited too and couldn't wait to see what was inside.  Hurray up Mum and get the camera!!!

OH MY DOG!!!!!!

 

I was so excited Mum made me go out for a wee break.  I didn't know what to play with first.  Mr Lion with the balls, the noisy pig, my stuffed bunny, my treat bottle, the sweet potato treats or roll on my new blankie.

This little piggy won't be going to any market.

 My sissy and brother helped me work out how to play with the treat bottle.  It didn't take me long to get some treats.  Yum. 

Here are my presents.  Mum said we should take a photo before they get chewed and worn.  I told her I am a good girl and take care of my toys.  

After all the excitment I needed a sleep.  My new blankie was so very snuggly.  Mr Lion kept me company.

Carol here, I want to say thank you to everyone we have met through 'blogland'.  The kindness, support and friendliness of people is amazing.   People we have never met, and most probably never will, who share their lives with others, give comfort, support, laughs and oh so much more, still never ceases to amaze me.  So to everyone 'out there', thanks heaps.  We love our blog family.  Love Carol x
