Today we at Anything But A Card begin a new challenge perfect for the season: Share the Love-
anything related to hearts, Valentines, love sick, love struck, love
stinks, red, cupid, honeymoon, wedding, get the idea?
I made this Valentine Sundae made of Hershey Kisses as a Valentine treat for my kiddos. Kisses are hot glued to a styrofoam ball covered with aluminium foil, the lollypop is the cherry on the top. Then I just added a little heart on the stick and the sweet treat is done.

ABAC10 - Butterfly Box
Time for the first Anything But A Card challenge in 2013 - the theme is Things with Wings - easy, right?
I decided to alter a plain little gift box. Covered it with some of my oldy-moldy daisy d papers, played a bit with mod podge and stamps.
Butterfly is from an old SU set called Wonderful Wings, flowers are Prima and the rest are random things from my stash.
Challenges:
Craftymess - sparkle/bling
Bearly mine - something old, something new (old papers, new ribbon and flowers)

ABAC9 - Christmas card boxes
This week we at Anything But A Card challenge blog have a pretty easy seasonal challenge for you!
You can take the Challenge's light aspect and do something that
represents light- candles, fire, sun, etc. lights, lamps, etc or do
something related to a Winter Holiday. The choice is yours!
I have hundreds of various cards just stashed away waiting to be mailed - so I decided to give them away this Christmas season. And to do it in style I'm making gift boxes for them. Here are 2 finished ones:
Each holds approx. 6 cards and envelopes (they could take more if the cards weren't embellished).
The one in the back is for 5.5" square cards and the front one for A2.
For the square one I used general instructions I found somewhere (don't remember the page), for the A2 I used this tutorial.
I'm also entering them in My Sheri Craft challenge - called It's a wrap

ABAC7 - Seaside magnets
We at Anything But A Card Challenge are moving to the sea for inspiration for this challenge- you can use
anything sea/ocean related- colors, marine life, mermaids, beaches,
sand, etc. and/or let the picture inspire you!
I used my almost forgotten seaside themed stickers from K&Co to make these magnets:
They were pretty easy to make - the size was almost the same as the clear glass pebbles I adhered them to. The pebbles are not perfect circles, so I had to snip from the paper here and there. If you would like to make some too - here is a tutorial.
I'm planning to use them as part of a teacher gift, so I created the background for them. Stamped the map background image from Flourishes onto light green paper from Basic Gray, sponged the edges with distress ink and applied some K&Co rub ones. Then I just adhered 4 little metal washers with ScoreTape and snapped the magnets in place.

ABAC6 - A Stitch In Time
Hello everyone! The new challenge at Anything But a Card is called A
Stitch in Time- and you can use any element that represents time-
watch, clock, clock parts, stopwatch, hour glass, calendar, dates,
postage stamps... AND/OR stitching- real or faux!
I went with the Stitching part and made this little cross stitched picture.
I stitched it, then put liquid glue around the outlines and cut out the pictures when it dried. Then I mounted the background fabric onto a small frame and adhered the cut out pictures with fabric glue.

ABAC5 - Christmas notebook
Good morning and Happy Sunday! It's time for another Anything But a Card Challenge! Challenge 5 is to incorporate the color BLACK into your project. It doesn't have to be the only color, but it should compromise a good portion of it.
I still had some not altered composition notebooks so I decided to make a fabric cover for it.
I got this beautiful black gold and cream poinsettia fabric when our local quilt shop closed and I got a lot of it :) ..and I'll be making more Christmas items from it in the upcoming weeks. The cover is removable and reusable. If you would like to make one too, you can find the instructions at Smashed Peas and Carrots.

ABAC3 - Sparkly Christmas Ornaments
It's time for another ABAC challenge and it's called Sparkle & Shine.. easy, right?
This week I played with sequins and beads and made these Christmas ornaments. They turned out quite cute, just my finger is getting a hole in it from pushing in all the pins :)

ABAC2 - Lace flowers
Good morning! Two weeks passed since we started ABAC challenge blog, so it's time for our next challenge. This one is easy too - you just need to make sure, your project has TEXTURE
I was playing with fabric and lace and made some flowers this week - I used this flower tutorial
I used wide lace, satin, muslin and tulle for them. I cut out the petals using TH Tattered florals and Heartfelt creations Posy Patch dies. The thick dies cut fabric better than the thin metal nesting ones, but if you don't have anything else you can use those too - just be prepared to snip some threads. They all started out as white/cream and I dyed them with Glimmer Mists. I would make more, but these where all the Glimmer Mist colors I had :) You can speed up the drying with heat tool, just be careful around tulle - or you'll end up with a bunch of melted tulle mess - don't ask how I know ;)
After layering I decorated the flowers with pearls, beads ans stickles, some even got feathers.
Challenges:
Simply Create Too - anything goes
Try it Out Tuesday - anything goes
Through the Craftroom door - anything goes

ABAC1 - Christmas star gift box
Whoohooo! It's finally here! The first challenge on Anything But a Card Challenge Blog! We are
keeping super easy: ANYTHING GOES! That's right- ANYTHING but a card! No
restrictions! And you have 2 weeks to create something!
For my part I decided to alter a plain wooden box. I mixed PearlEx powders with ModPodge and painted the whole outside. The mixture is nice and thick and gives good coverage, so one layer was enough. To decorate the top some more I added some gold micro beads while the ModPodge was still wet.
The russet flower was also painted with PearlEx/Mod Podge mix.
I'm also entering it into the following challenges:
Allsorts - anything but a square
Everybody Art Challenge - anything goes
The Stampman challenge - alter it
