For this challenge I have used this gorgeous image Fairy Fae by DeliciousDoodles. I absolutely adore butterflies and this image reminds me of my visit to the butterfly farm in Stratford Upon Avon. If you stand still you may be lucky enough that they land on you. Once I had 4 on me all at the same time and it is just magical to feel so connected to them.

As soon as I saw this image I knew it had to be purples. I am very fortunate to have the full set of all available Promarkers and Flexmarkers so I have lots of shades of purple to choose from J I even coloured the hair in purple, something I have never done before.

I used a lovely paper pad called Dreamcatcher by First Edition and added a scrap of lilac card which has been embossed with a Crafts Too folder and inked with a small Versamark pad.
The flower has been made with a Sizzix Die, a leather swatch, white glitter card and a jewel brad by Papermania. I added some Stickles glitter glue and Glossy accents to the image and a sentiment from my stash.

Daisy Doodles #42 Raise It Up

OMG this is my 750th Post!! I can’t believe I have waffled that much but then I have been blogging since May 2007 J I don’t think I can remember life before blogs…..

Thankyou to all my lovely followers, I am truly honoured that you feel I have something worthy of looking at and reading, mwah Mwah MWAH big kisses to you all xxx

Anyhoo, enough of that kissy kisssy stuff.
I am delighted that this is my 2nd week as Guest Designer at

The challenge theme this week is Embossing and you have until Sunday 25th September 7pm EST to get your entries in. You can emboss using a heat gun, an embossing folder or even the traditional stencils and lightbox, just make sure you use a digi OK J

I chose the image Feelin’ Bad Freddy. Don’t you just want to give him a hug to make him feel better? If you want to own him you can pop over to Daisy’s Digi Doodles store and he can be yours for only $2

You can tell he is a man as he’s in bed feeling sorry for himself. If it was a woman teddy she’d have no chance to take a rest would she girls?

The patchwork style paper on the base has been embossed and on the criss crosses and inked to brink the design out better. I have also used brown cardstock by DCVW and cut a circle for behind Freddy’s bed which has been embossed with a Cuttlebug Swiss Dots folder and sanded with an emery board. The other brown strip has also been embossed with a Sizzix folder.

Freddy and his bed has been decoupaged with 4 layers and coloured with Promarkers. Following the sketch layout from Sketchbook Saturday I used a Nitwit collection of free papers from a magazine. I used a Martha Stewart punch, some scrummy ribbon and recycled a chipboard tag from a piece of ASDA clothing for the sentiment tag. I covered it with a scrap of blue card, distressed the edges and handwrote the sentiment.

I hope you like my card. I think it would have to cheer up the poorly recipient.

I'll see you again next week with another lovely Daisy's Digi Doodles design.

P.S…. Keep checking out the store for some fab new designs, Jules has been doodling and they are just blooming gorgeous J

For my card this week I have used an image by Jess at Floppy Latte Designs called Life Is Sweet. It certainly is very yummy judging by this gorgeous ice cream sundae image.

The base card has been covered with a text paper with birthday words and phrases from a Dovecraft paper pack. The image has been coloured with Promarkers and I added some Crystal Effects to the cherry and chocolate sauce to make them look shiny. I used a fine tip to draw a grid on the table to look like a tablecloth. The sentiment on the image is a rub on from Sizzix.

The circle sentiment is a freebie from Brossart Addiction and I have coloured it in and added some gold Stickles to the scalloped edge.

Materials Used in this card are as follows:-
Card Size – A5
Sentiment – Brossart Addiction & Sizzix
Paper – Birthday paper pack by Dovecraft
Embellishments – Crystal Effects & Stickles gitter glue
Tools – scissors, 3d foam, Promarkers

A Special Peacock

Week 3 of Delightful Inspirations Friday freebie challenge and I'm managing to keep up so far, woohoo go me :) For completing last week's scrummy strawberries design we were given this fabulous peacock from Designed 2 Delight. I absolutely adore peacocks, the males are such magnificent birds with their dramatic plumage and the colours are just divine. The have such a gorgeous metallic sheen to the feathers when you look at them up close, I guess it's like natures own glimmer mist sprays.

The image was coloured with Promarkers and I added some fine glitter with a Sakura clear glitter pen. I covered the base of a card with the gorgeous paper from DCVW and added some electric blue ink to the edges. I had intended to follow the sketch from this week's Crafty Ho's challenge but the image didn't fit an oval so I used a different shaped nestie. Then the embossed area of vellum wasn't deep enough to lay as per the sketch so it all went a bit wrong then so I made it up as I went along!

I added 2 different shaded of blue inks to the edges of the image and across the embossing on the vellum. I have tried to attempt a Shabby Chic effect with the card but not sure if I have managed it successfully........ I have added some gorgeous velvet ribbon from Paperchase. I've only got a bit of it left so I may have to purchase some on my next visit to Birmingham. Of course that does mean I have to go into Selfridges and go past Krispy Kreme donuts and maybe accidentally one might get into my mouth, they have a cool one with gold glitter on it at the moment. Best excuse for getting glitter on my face if I say so myself.... LOL

The paper from is from Bizzy Becs who had a stall at the craft fair I visited a few months ago, the Prima triple layer crochet flower is from a prize I won from a challenge and has come all the way from America and the gem brad is from Hobbycrafts. The sentiment is one I had in my scraps box which has been recycled from a shop bought card.

Materials Used in this card are as follows:-
Card Size - A5
Sketch - loosely based on Crafty Ho's
Image - Peacock by Designed 2 Delight
Sentiment - Recycled from a shop bought card
Paper - DCWV Peeking Posies pad and some vellum
Embellishments - Velvet ribbon, Paper flower, Prima crochet flower, American Crafts Gem Brad
Tools - Embossing folder, Big Shot, Nestabilities, Promarkers, small ink pads, 3d foam
Techniques - Dry embossing, distressing with ink pad

Happileigh Scrappin' #31 - MYO Bellies

We have a new challenge today over at Happileigh Scrappin' Challenges which has been set by Starla and that is to Make your own embellishments.

I started with the gorgeous image of Girl with Kite which is in the Girly Girl section of the store. I love flying kites but I am not particularly good at it :( When we went camping with our friends they bought me a butterfly kite and I rarely got it up in the sky but Paul was pretty good at it.

Anyway I digress, back to the card :) I love chocolate and pink as a colour scheme so coloured the image accordingly. I decoupaged the kite by adding a second layer mounted on 3D foam. Using the sketch from Tuesday Trio I added the gorgeous brown ribbon and tied a bow to match.

For my handmade embellishments I went to one of the patterned sheets in the Sweet Owl pad I had used the main backing paper from. One of the sheets has large flowers and circles on it so I selected particular elements and cut them out, adding ink and glitter to enhance. I then raided my stash for some buttons and twine to finish off and Ta Daaah !!

There are loads of fabulous images in the Happileigh Scrappin' Store and Leigh has also got some gorgeous new designs available. With every purchase you this image and sentiment free........

Also for every 3 images you purchase you can choose an extra one absolutely free. There are loads of fab images just itching to be played with so you will find it easy to spend your pennies I promise you :)

Please pop on over to see the lovely creations my Happi Sisters have added. There are lots of lovely cards to feast your eyes upon and they are all so different.

Remember, for our challenges you don't need to use a Happileigh Scrappin' image but if you do your entry counts twice and withfreebies available here it is easy to use one of Leigh's fabulous digis.

We would love to see lots of entries in this challenge. Leigh gives away her lovely digis to the top 3 so it is well worth entering and me and the DT love to see your creations, so come on over to
