My Blog Has Attitude Award

The lovely Jacki from

has given me a Blog With Attitude award.

Thank you sweetheart, I shall wear it with pride. I am very touched that you should give it to me.

Now the for the rules click the blog award and it will take to to the relevant section on the Digis With Attitude blog. I need to tell you 3 unique things about me and nominate 5 blogs. Here goes....

3 Things about me :)
  • I am a terrible hoarder and have kept every single crafty thing I have bought since I started card making in 2002. I want to purge but cannot bear to part with any of it (I am sure that will be familiar to a lot of my fellow crafters)
  • My Favourite film of all time is Merry Christmas Mr Lawrence starring David Bowie and Ryuichi Sakamoto. I have loved it since I was a teenager even though I'm not keen on David Bowie or his music. The soundtrack is fabulous and I developed a love of Ryuichi Sakamoto's music as a result.
  • Love at first sight really happens and I am proof of it. I sat next to my hubby, a complete stranger at a Pet Shop Boys concert in July 1989, got together a week later and we have been together ever since. I am very lucky to have met my life partner at only 17 and we love one another dearly.
The lovely peeps I would like to give this award to are:-

Lisa at Lisa's Little Blog Home - Love this special lady soooo much. She's a good friend and bloody amazing at colouring with Promarkers. Great to see her crafty mojo has made a comeback :)

Sarn at Chocolate is NOT just for Breakfast - A good friend who gave me lots and love and support at a time when I badly needed it. She is a fabulous crafter and has a huge stamp collection.

Vix at Vixykins - The head honcho at Crafty Cardmakers where I am on the DT. Vix was the first person to see my potential to inspire others and if it hadn't been for doing the DT cards for the blog during 2010 I think I would have probably given up crafting altogether. She is so very talented and is fabulous with Promarkers.

Lisa at Wishcraft - Fellow teamie at Crafty Cardmakers who has just gone from success to success. She have a lovely bright style to her cards just like me and quite often uses stash that i just HAVE to have. She's also got a bit of a fetish for paper like moi :)

Leigh at Happileigh Scrappin' - Designs some gorgeous digis which I have the pleasure to work with on the Design Team at Happileigh Scrappin' Challenge

To the people I have given this award to please pop over to the Digis with Attitude link to follow the instructons.

I Love Your Blog Dahling! award

One of my faberoonie friends Lisa 'The Promarker Queen' has given me this fabulous award. We're meeting up for a crafty session in only a few weeks time and I can't blooming wait. There is nothing quite like getting together with the girls and crafting and nattering and just having a jolly good old time

Thanks sweetie for this wonderful award and I can't wait to meet up with you very soon :)

Now this is a brilliant award as the only 'rule' is to pass it to other people so I shall have a ponder of whom to give it to and will get back to you.

In the meantime I am going on holiday tomorrow. We're going camping just by Weymouth for a few days and on the way down we're going to pop in to see a fabulous friend who needs a bit of cheering up.

In the meantime I placed a little order with the Glitterpot for some gorgeous Basic Grey papers I have been after so Mr. Postie will hopefully deliver whilst I am away :)

Circle Of Friends Award

I have been very fortunate to receive 2 awards recently and have only just got round to picking them up.

The Circle of Friends award is from Crafty Linby who is a fellow 365 cards participant.

I have also been lucky to receive the same award from my fellow forum, Facebook and 365 Cards buddy Jenny from Just Jenny's Little World. She is one of the nicest and most supportive people I have the pleasure of knowing and I hope one day we will be able to meet...... we nearly did but unfortunately a stamping show got in the way. One day Jenny, I'm sure we'll make it :)

Unfortunately since I started back to work full time I of course have not had so much time to make cards. August in particular I knew would be a bad month as we have a holiday, I've had a big commission and we have a family wedding at the end.
But, I'd far rather have less time for cardmaking and a full time job again as I needed to get some money coming back into the house. Paul is trying to make a go of being a self employed IT bod and I've said I will support him as much as possible. My wage will run the house so at least we are not going to be eating into the savings we had and I may even get some money to buy some crafty bits....waaayhay!

I do miss though being able to blog hop as much and feel like a big part of what I enjoyed doing has had to cease, but then I don't have as much time as I did before. Whilst I was out of work making cards was a creative way of coping and I am lucky that I have 'met' some wonderful people through my hobby, both online and in real life.

Anyhoo the terms of this award are:-
  • Make reference to the award and publish it.
  • Share 5 things you like to do
  • Disclose the rules
  • Share with 10 blogs
  • Inform each blog
Some of the things I like to do are:-
  1. Make Cards
  2. Meet my crafty mates for crafty sessions
  3. Cuddle up on the sofa with my hubby
  4. Spend time with friends and family
  5. Go on Holiday
I would like to give this award to the following people

Honest Scrap Award

The extremely talented Tommie at Oh My Gluestick! has given me an award. She is a fellow 365'er and has recently opened an Etsy store with some gorgeous items for babies. She is one clever Momma!

Maz at Nature's Workshop has also very kindly given me this award. She makes beautiful cards and leaves such lovely encouraging comments. I have met some wonderful people on the 365 blog :)

There are a few requirements to accepting the Honest Scrap Award and they are as follows:

1) I must thank the person who gave me the award and list their blog and link it, links are as above to Tommie at Oh My Gluestick! and to Maz at Nature's Workshop
2) I must list 10 honest things about myself, they are as follows :-

1. I am married to my best friend. Although I am only 37 we have been together for 20 years this year. I have grown so much with him and our love gets stronger every day.

2. We got married in Las Vegas (not by ELVIS!!) on my 30th birthday. It was one of the best experiences of my life. Would love to go back to Vegas and spend more time there. Loved the rides at the top pf the Stratosphere, they were amazing.

3. I have been overweight for many years and have tried every diet going. Currently following
the GI Diet and so far it is working. Have lost 2 stone but still got about 6 and a half to lose.

4. I have got extremely high blood pressure and I am working hard to reduce it, hence the weight issues...... vicious cycle but it needs doing, and I feel I am finally dealing with it.

5. I am currently unemployed after being made redundant twice in the last 9 months. I need to be kept busy and at the moment don't feel like a valuable member of society. I am helping to look after Paul's Grandad who is ill at the moment but trying to get a job in the meantime. Cardmaking keeps me sane at the moment.

6.I am paranoid about being in debt after bad experiences with my parents when I was a child. It was hard, but it taught me many valuable lessons about how NOT to live my life as an adult. I wish many other people had done the same and perhaps the credit crunch would never have happened. If you can't pay for it, you don't buy it. Simple as that !

7. I do not have children and decided at the age of 14 that I didn't want any. I get very annoyed at people who say '' I will change my mind'', I won't and I haven't. I've been saying it for 23 years and still feel the same.

8. I love the sea and feel very calm when I am at the seaside. I would love to live by the sea one day......

9. I have been crafty ever since I can remember and love making cards. I cross stitch as well but that has taken a back seat.....

10. I have my own little room to craft in and at the moment it is where I feel the most happiest. I've got a little laptop and watch TV and get to craft at the same time - bliss :)

3) I must put a copy of The Honest Scrap Logo on my blog which I have proudly done!

4) I must select at least 7 other worthy bloggers & list their links so here they are!

Lemonade Stand Award

Woohoo, I have another award from a very talented crafter Bex who takes part in the 365 challenges too. She has a great style to her cards and also has the same problems with not wanting to cut her paper up as I do. LOL

I have also been given the same award by Pam from Mackenzie Mae Designs who is the creator of the 365 Cards blog. What a great bunch of people we are in the blogging world :)

This award is for being a blogger who shows great attitude and gratitude, and that definitely applies to Bex who is lovely :)

To pick up the Lemonade Stand Award:

Karma Award

What a wonderful surprise I have had this morning.

Amongst my blog comments the wonderfully talented Kristie Larson has given me a Karma Award.

She makes some fabulous cards and projects and for someone like me who would like to have even just a little bit of her talent it is amazing that she would recognise my efforts in such a way.

Thank you so very much Kristie, you have made my day !!

So now, the really good bit is that I get to give this award to some other lovely people too.

The Rules

The Karma Award: These blogs are exceedingly charming. These kind of bloggers aim to find and be friends. They are not interested in self-aggrandizement. Our hope is that when the ribbons of these prizes are cut, even more friendships are propagated. Please give more attention to these writers. Deliver this award to eight bloggers who must choose eight more and include this cleverly-written text into the body of their award.

I would like to pass this award onto the following friends who are very talented crafters and just lovely poeple to boot:

Now pass on the love girls :)

Kreativ Blogger Award

I have been given a Kreativ Blogger award by the extremely talented Joanna at Handmade by Asia Wu. I hadn't realised it had been given to me until I was going through some old posts on her blog and found this. I realised that I had somehow missed her comment, so many apologies for how late I am picking this award up Joanna.

So there are certain rules attached to this award and they are as follows :-

1. Link the person who tagged you.
2. Write six random things about yourself.
3. Tag six people at the end of your post and link them.
4. Let each person know they've been tagged and leave a comment on their blog.
5. Let the blogger know when your entry is up.

6 random things about me are :

  1. I was originally born in Leeds but moved to Birmingham when I was 13. Although I've got quite a strong Brummie accent now I immediately get my Yorkshire accent back when I speak to Northern people.
  2. I've got more patterned paper than I'll use in a lifetime of cardmaking so why do I still buy more ?
  3. I haven't bought a card for the last 5 years. I think my hubby would kill me with all the supplies I have if I did !
  4. I use exclamation marks too much !!!! Always have, always will :)
  5. I don't own any Basic Grey or Stampin Up. I want to succumb but I know it waill be expensive so avoid them both !
  6. I can't throw anything away which relates to cardmaking. Once it's in my stash it will stay there even if it hasn't been used. I just can't bring myself to get rid of them.....
The people I would like to nominate for this award are

All of whom are very special people who are tremendously creative and some of the nicest people I have the pleasure to call friends.

So thankyou very much Asia Wu and I shall now pass this award to my friends above.
