Happy Mother's Day

I was very lucky to win a $10 gift voucher to spend at Di’s Digi Downloads and this card has been made using one of Di’s gorgeous images For a Special Someone. This is the card that I made for my Mother In Law’s Mother’s Day card.

I have coloured the image using Promarkers and Flexmarkers and then mounted it onto a scrap of magenta mirri card. The card blank is made using an A4 sheet of pearlescent cardstock and the swirly paper on the top is a magazine freebie from Polka Doodles.

The sentiment has been recycled from a bag of old greetings cards I was given by a family friend. I cut it into a banner shape and mounted onto some more of the mirri card.

The felt shapes are from Poundland and I added lots of stickles to the roses on the digi and on the swirls in the paper.

I hope all the mummies out there in the UK have had a fabulous Mother’s Day and have had lots of nice treats.

Materials Used in this card are as follows:-
Card Size – A5
Paper – Polkadoodles freebie paper
Sentiment – Recycled from an old card
Embellishments – Felt & crystal flowers & butterfly, button, stickles glitter glue
Tools – Promarkers & Flexmarkers,

I would like to enter this card into the following challenges (in Alphabetical Order):-

Polka Doodles & 365 Cards

This cute little birdy house was made for the Polka Doodles Sketch #4 with additional challenges to use the free downloadable paper and a stamp or digistamp.

The sketch was more of a traditional pentagram shape but is stretched it with some software to fill an A5 sized blank, the fold of the card being on the left hand side if the birdhouse.

I cut a hole in the front for the birdies to get in and out of their new home. I covered the whole of the front with the downloaded paper. It printed out really well, no streaky lines or anything! I used some brown textured card to cut a scallop edge and used a nestie die for the doorway. Lots of bling was added courtesy of Poundland. Every now and again they do some fabby packs of bling that are superb value. Please excuse the one that has shifted in the photo, I promise this has now been pushed back into the correct position!

The sentiment was typed in and printed. The little caterpillar who is edging along the front is part of a digistamp from Sweet & Sassy. I think it is lucky for Cindy the caterpillar that the birdies are looking the other way or she may become a little snackette. The bird sitting onthe nestie and the swirls around the sentiment are clear rubber stamps from Hero Arts. I have also used the swirl to provide the stem for the flowers. These are Prima's from Bitty Bags with green gems from Paperchase. The birdy in the centre is a digital scrapbooking freebie coloured with a Promarker.

I am so chuffed with how this card has turned out. It is going to be VERY difficult to give it away to someone!

I have also entered this card into the challenge for Day 24 of 365 Cards which was to create a nature scene. That will tick an old one from March off my list. Woohoo!!!!

365 Cards Day 30 & Polka Doodle

This is the ladybird inspired card I have made for an old challenge on 365 Cards for Day 30.

I have used this week's sketch and challenge over at Polka Doodle but unfortunately it will not be allowed into the competition as I should have submitted it by 12 noon GMT. Blinking shame that, but I still enjoyed making it and I haven't done a criss cross card in his style before so I've learnt a new technique too.

You had to use 3 paper and at least 1 flower. The stripe and plaid are from K & Co, the spotty paper is HOTP. The digistamp image is from Sweet & Sassy and was coloured using Marvy le Plume pens. The flower was originally is silk sunflower in my living room and was orange. I used a permanent marker to change the colour, quite pleased with how this turned out :)

I covered tyhe back of the flower with a circle of white card which I decorated inside. The flower is a handmade mulberry one with a small black gem and I used a gel pen to add a bit of doodling.

That's another old 365 ticked off my list... YAY
