Domino's new branch

I believe it's Domino's first time step its foot into Sabah last month, opening its branch at a new shop lots in Bundusan right opposite Beverly Hill Plaza.

We went to try a few weeks ago.  As it's still new in town, the queues are long and basically it's self service, meaning that we have to collect our drinks and pizza after ordering.  The seats are all outside the corridor without aircon, I think there are meant for customers waiting for their take away orders.

The taste of this cheese pizza is tasty but if you want to enjoy a cozy place to dine in with family and friends for a nice pizza meal, this is not the place, you might want to try their delivery service.  I have not tried their delivery service yet so too early to comment.   Great to have more food outlet chains venturing their businesses in this part of Malaysia to cater for the increasing demand from the tourists and locals.

Pizza Hut Locked Pocket Pizza meal set

We decided to dine out tonite but what to eat and where?  These are the usual questions that we have each time we decide to eat out.  Since many years ago, our girls' opinions of what they would like to eat have become our basis of considerations.

They finally decided to go to Pizza Hut for the pasta, we haven't been there for quiet a while.

There is a new pizza and pie on the menu, thus we ordered 1 each to try.
 The locked pocket pizza set
 with minced chicken fillings
The side of the dough are sliced and folded to hold the minced chicken resembling a pocket, similar sort of toppings.

the appetizer came with the pizza set is chicken vegetable roll (simply frozen food)

A bowl of pie, very excited to dig in but very disappointed that what we found covered under the mashed potatoes and cheese slice are sausages and slices of button mushrooms and tomato puree.  Frozen food again.

Pasta is what my girls are coming to Pizza Hut for.  They ordered a plate of each of this spaghetti, the serving portion is satisfying.

Pizza Bread

It was last week after school sports day, they were all sweaty after the event, it would be more comfortable to get refresh and settle for lunch at home.  Our girls agreed with having pizzas for lunch.  We had to stop by the supermarket to get some ingredients on our way home.

This time we tried using bread as the base instead of pizza dough.  We chose the thick sliced white bread to hold the toppings.

I sliced and chopped the basic toppings like sausages, crab stick filaments, capsicum and onions and my girl help to grate the cheese through the Tupperware grater.
my girls and my niece placed the toppings on their own bread, the one with onions & capsicum is mine, ready to put into the oven.  It is hard to convince our girls to have a piece of vegetable on their portions.

I placed the pizza bread at the middle level in the oven with only the upper heating element on.  Here are the baked pizza bread hot from the oven...

my eldest girl added parmesan cheese on her serving as she complained that her pizza bread with lots of cheese has been taken by someone else.

Home baked pizzas

We were out and about the whole day time yesterday.  We bought some ingredients on our way back in the evening to bake own pizzas at home.

No time to make pizza dough to wait for it to prove, we used the ready made ones.
We made 2 pizzas.  Our girls' job to load the toppings, just tomato puree, mozzarella cheese, sausage, capsicum and white fish filaments as toppings.  Our girls dislike having onions on their pizza.
the 2nd pizza was loaded with extra onions and minced beef
the crust is a bit hard and crusty
not as cheesy as the ones from the shop.  We are OK with it.  At least it is not that fattening.
It was our first trial of baking pizzas at home, we need to improvise the recipes before we could consider having Pizzas Party at home, :D

All about Pizzas

Whenever our girls crave for spaghetti carbonara, we look no further but Pizza Hut.  Spaghetti  carbonara at Pizza Hut suite their taste.  Last Wednesday at Pizza Hut, we topped up additional RM5.00 to get a stuffed crust pizza, we love those cheese.  But their staff made a mistake in our order, serving us an ordinary Island Supreme.  Due to their mistake they let us have the "wrong" pizza and order their kitchen to bake the stuffed crust pizza for us.  We were all full after having the "wrong" pizza when the stuffed crust was served.  We had a slice of it and the rest were "supposed" to take away.

Few hours after we reached home, I realised that I did not collect the stuffed crust pizza that I asked to tapau.   While waiting to pay, Clet brought Pearl to the car. I left the shop right after I got the change from the cashier, I hurried and forgot all about the delicious cheese crust pizza.  Since I am blaming him for going to the car earlier without waiting for the tapau, Clet asked me whether we should drive to Pizza Hut to collect the pizza or not, it's already 10pm. Of course no la..!! would you??

This whole pizza that we left at Pizza Hut.  Can you spot a different slice of pizza??

At home, my girls put together their own pizza, my plastic pearl beads become their toys.

Kids Eat Free Everyday at Pizza Hut

Not long after we have ordered our meals at Pizza Hut City Mall yesterday, Clet spotted the banner says "Kids Eat Free Everyday" at the door.  When the waiter came around to serve us the drinks we asked him what this promotion is about.

"Kids Eat Free Everyday" promotion started on 15 March 2012, I remembered we have been to Pizza Hut a couple of times since March this year but we only got to know it yesterday.

The promotion offers every RM20.00 spent entitles to :

~ 1 "Kids Eat Free" meal. Linited to 1 meal per kid
~ Valid for kids below 8 years old or below 120cm in height,  whichever applicable.
~ For dine-in only.
~ Not available in Pizza Hut Genting Highlands.
~ Not valid for purchase of Group Party Packages.
~ Terms and Conditions apply.
Our bill came up to more than RM40.00 that entitled us to claim for 2 "kids Eat Free" meals though Crystal is more than 8 years old and taller than 120cm in height.

"Kids Eat Free" meals

We ended up with extra serving of Spaghetti bolognese and Chicken Meat Balls, these "Kids Eat Free" meals also come with soya bean drinks.  Not bad at all.  But our girls have already whacked their Carbonara   pasta by the time the "Kids Eat Free" meals were served, can take in any more food. Well, with me around there is no problem having extra food, I am quite a big eater...

Home baked pizza

Nice to have public holiday! Got the chance to bake something in the oven. I bought a 10" pizza pan the other day, and eager to try baking a pizza. It's a home baked pizza cos I used the pre-packed pizza flour for the dough by just adding on the toppings so it's not a home made pizza.
my new 10" pizza pan
Our girls have longed been asking me to make a pizza after seeing one of the Barney VCD last year. After pressing the dough on the pan and spreading a layer of thousand island dressing, I let them put the toppings on the dough however they want it. They enjoyed the task very much.

An unbaked pizza fully packed with chicken sausages, crab stick, mixed vegetable and shredded cheddar cheese. It is too thick than I was worried whether the dough can be cooked probably or not, I took the chances by putting it into the oven anyway, just need a bit longer baking time.

The baked pizza after 30 minutes. 10 minutes longer than the instructed baking time.
Crystal kept saying it's very delicious, she finished the whole portion of her share (cos she is very hungry at tea break, no lunch earlier on for the day).

Like usual Pearl eat some and play at the same time, she only ate the toppings but not the pizza bread.

The pizza bread is not as nice as expected. Probably I should make my own dough from scratch next time (only if I have got the time :C)
