Nona Moist Luxury Double Chocolate Flavoured Cake

Looks like I can resume my baking activities after more than 3 years of putting my cake baking stuff into the store..I have to dig them out to make a bread yesterday (which turned out to be slightly  softer than a rock).

Tonite, to respond to my daughter's  persistent requests, we made chocolate  cakes together.  I bought a box of Nona cake mix for convenient sake.  I let her read the instructions  and get ready the ingredients needed.  I only came in to do the tedious part and the best thing is she promised to do the washing which she did.

I followed exactly 55 minutes of baking.  The cake was partly  burned on the top and bottom.  After cutting off all the burnt parts, only leaving the middle part of the cake for them to enjoy.

Tony's 67th Birthday

A chocolate mango cake from his children

It was Tony's 67th birthday, celebrated at his home last night. He is the eldest brother of Clet's siblings. Plenty of food and great gathering for all of us.

A photo with the kids - nieces (crystal & pearl) , grandsons & grand niece & nephews

A photos with his siblings

Did not manage to snap his family photo, trying to see whether I can get one from their facebook.

A try of Cheesy fruit cake

Baking time for me during holidays!

We love cheese. Yes, we do. It's fattening but a bar of cheese can be shared with others if make into a cake. So here I am trying out to make a cheesy fruit filling cake for the first time. I did not realise that I ran out of cream, no dressing for my cake as a result.

Our girls are very unpredictable, they love cheese but making into a cake like this, they prefer to eat the sponge cake than the cheese, I am speechless... :I

I received good comment on this cake from my mum :D, she is not a cheese person but she like this one.I also helped my niece to make a dark chocolate birthday cake for her friend. My sister bought the chocolate cake premix from Consfood last minute. The texture of this premix is not up to our desire, too dry. I will choose to make it from scratch next time though a lot of work needed.

Chocolate cake and Carrot cake

There were a few varieties of cakes displayed in the chiller at the Yen Ai eatery shop last night. We chose to try the chocolate cake and the carrot cake because we were told that these are the ones just arrived today. Each piece of the cake cost RM6.00, very expensive, more expensive than a chicken rice or a plate of fried mee.

Chocolate cake, rich and the sponge cake layer is moist, yummy, no complaint

a very disappointing piece of carrot cake, dry and hard, not up to our expectation.
