Bloody tragedy.
--A dealer in military equipments, named Real, 256 Broadway, opposite City Hall, New York, was shot by his wife on Friday last, and died instantly. Real was married about three years ago, and lived happily with his wife for one year, when he voluntarily left her, and has since been quite a free lover, receiving as many as a half-dozen different inamoratas a day at his office, up stairs. The deserted wife entreated him to provide for our support, if he would not live with her; but he refused to do so. On Friday morning she saw her husband coming off the ferry boat from Brooklyn with a very respectable looking female, and immediately accosted the woman, saying, ‘"You are with my husband."’ The woman hurriedly left, and Real fore away from his wife and went to his place of business. About two hours subsequent the injured wife called, and again entreated a support, but was repelled with harsh language. A seethe ensued in which the wife succeeded in getting her husband on his knees, when she drew a revolver and shot him through the lungs. He died almost last antly.Mrs. Real is said to be a native of England, about 23 years of age, of handsome face, graceful figure, well educated, and most respectably connected. She was conveyed to the Tombs immediately after the murder, where she gave way to her feelings in paroxysms of grief.
Her husband was but one year her senior; a man of fine appearance, well to do in the world, but weak minded and an inordinate admirer of the fair sex.
