--The three hundred sailors sent from Charlestown to Portsmouth, N. H., for the sloop-of-war Macedonian, on Tuesday last, occasioned the officers considerable trouble in managing them, while in the cars. Notwithstanding all their exertions, however, about fifty of them managed to elude the vigilance of their keepers, and escaped after the cars stopped, by jumping out of the car-windows, the doors being locked. Several of them have since been recovered.
