Petty Thieves

are depredating, as usual at this season of the year, on private and public dwellings. On Thursday evening last, while the family were at tea, some thief entered a private residence in Jefferson Ward, and ascending to the second story, relieved a lady's chamber of a shawl and breast pin. The rogue was heard in his operations, but escaped detection. If families will leave their hall doors open, they must expect to be robbed.
