Bibles and other good books for the Soldier's.

--A colporteur who has been spending a few days among the soldiers around this city, reports having sold them $90 worth of Bibles and Testaments. The Superintendent of Baptist Colportage has sent out an appeal for "funds and men," that the Board he represents may be enabled to appoint a colporteur for each regiment of soldiers. This is an important move, as we shall, probably in a few weeks, have 150,000 soldiers in Virginia.--Everything that can be done to promote their temporal and spiritual welfare ought to be done most cheerfully. To place good books and tracts in one's hands is surely one of the most effective ways of bestowing good, spiritual and temporal.
