Southern Serenade Friendship Card for GDP190

Hi stampers! Today I wanted to share a card with using a few products that will soon be retiring. This card was one of the projects we made at my team meeting this past Wednesday. Everyone loved the delicate detail on the frame and soft florals. This card also features two of the retiring In Colors: Powder Pink and Berry Burst, which I will miss dearly.
I used the sketch over at the Global Design Project as the layout for my card. If you haven’t stopped by their blog, check it out and play along. There is so much amazing creative inspiration there!

The Delightfully Detailed Laser-Cut Specialty Paper is one of my favorites! I love that one side of the paper is Whisper White and the other is Very Vanilla which makes it so versatile for a lot of projects. This particular pattern fits beautifully with the floral pattern in the Petal Promenade Designer Series Paper. I layered them together with Stampin’ Dimensionals. I combined the floral image from the Beautiful Promenade stamp set and the sentiment from the Southern Serenade stamp set.
To dress up the floral image, I layered two punched leaves around the flower. The colored vellum is actually a new item coming out in the new Stampin’ Up!® catalog on June 4th. I also took a piece of the Whisper White Polka Dot Tulle ribbon (about 4-1/2”), folded it in half and stuck it behind the flower on either side for a little more texture. Speaking of texture, the Powder Pink Cardstock is embossed with the Detailed Leaves Embossing Folder.

Here are the products that will be retiring on June 3rd:

One other item to note, the Beautiful Promenade stamp set and Beautiful Layers dies will NOT be retiring, however until June 3rd you can purchase the bundle at a 10% discount. You can order HERE.

Today’s Colors:

Here is a close up of the stamped flower. I added some sparkle by mixing a few drops of Champagne Mist Shimmer Paint with 70% rubbing alcohol in a Stampin’ Spritzer. It really adds a beautiful detail.

Card Measurements:
  • Whisper White Thick Cardstock - 5-1/2” x 8-1/2”, scored at 4-1/4”
  • Powder Pink Cardstock - 4-1/8” x 5-3/8”
  • Delightfully Detailed Laser-Cut Paper - 3-1/2” x just a little shy of 5”
  • Petal Promenade Designer Series Paper - 3-1/4” x 4-1/2”
I hope you enjoyed my card today! Remember, if you want to get any of these retiring products, they will be available until June 3rd or while supplies last, so don’t wait too long.

Fruit Basket Bundle for Facebook Live

Hello everyone! I wanted to share with you the projects that I made today on Facebook Live, featuring the Fruit Basket Bundle that is retiring at the end of the month. I absolutely love this set and  found some fun little treats that worked perfectly with it. There is a PDF at the end of this post with the supplies and measurements.

You can see the video by CLICKING HERE
First up, I shared this little box that holds some Chewy Lemonheads. I found these at Dollar Tree and they were sold in a pack of 5. They were a perfect match with this suite of products.
The punches in this set don’t include a cherry punch, so I created one using the Bouquet Bunch Framelits Dies. I love looking for fun, different ways to use die sets.
I also made an alternate box using a citrus theme, which also works well for these treats. We also determined in my Facebook Live that there are other treats that would fit in the box, with a few modifications to the measurements, like Tic Tac Gum.
The second project I shared is this cute gift card holder pairing up the Fruit Basket stamp set and Tutti Frutti DSP with the (also retiring) Mini Treat Bag Thinlits Dies.
I added a little pop of texture to the gift bag using the Softly Falling Embossing Folder.
The little pull-out card holds a gift card perfectly and you can even write a little message on the card behind the gift card.
The last project I shared was this watermelon gum holder! Although I did have some of the measurements written down incorrectly on the video, they have been corrected on the PDF. Thank you for your patience with my little oops. :)
This Extra Sweet Watermelon gum was also found at Dollar Tree and there are 4 packs bundled in the package. This would also work with any flavor of gum, just change up the colors/stamps, etc. I also added a little space to write on the inside. These would be great little gifts or even a fun idea for a craft fair.

All of the products I used to create the projects will be listed along with the measurements.

Also, if you put in an order in my online store ($30 minimum) by Monday May 7th, 2018 at midnight, I will send you these three make and takes for free! You will receive all of the supplies to create the projects but it will NOT include any stamped images (per Stampin’ Up! policy).

Please use Hostess Code XRX2GXF9

That’s how I will know that you ordered and so that you get your make and takes. ($30 minimum)
If your order is over $150, please DO NOT use the Hostess Code, so that you can earn the Hostess Rewards. I will still send you the make and takes, along with an extra gift.

Remember, orders must be placed by Monday May 7th, 2018 at midnight for these make and takes.

Thanks so much for stopping by today! I hope you enjoyed these projects. Remember that I’ll be back on Facebook Live next Thursday May 10th at 2:30pm CST, so be sure to join me then. Until next time...

Have a HAPPY day!

Sweet Stampede Blog Hop - Retiring In-Colors

Hello Stamping Friends! Today I am sharing a card I created for our team blog hop! Chances are you arrived here from my amazing friend and upline Erica Cerwin’s blog. Welcome! Every month our team, the Sweet Stampede, will be sharing some fun projects and I’m excited to play along this month. We are focusing on the Retiring In-Colors. Which one is your favorite?

When it comes to my favorite retiring In-Color, it would have to be Peekaboo Peach! It WAS Flirty Flamingo, but now that we know this little gem is going to be hanging around in the new catalog, I went with my second favorite. I also created 10 of these cards for one of our team swaps this month. I made 2 different cards for the swap and will post the other one later this week.

On my card, I paired Peekaboo Peach with Soft Sky (another retiring color) and the Naturally Eclectic Designer Series Paper. There are so many awesome prints in this paper, I’m thinking I might want to grab another pack of it before it officially retires.

I don’t know if there is an “official” name for this particular card fold. I want to call it a “tri-fold shutter card” because that’s what it looks like to me. I’m sure there is a fancier name for it out there somewhere, so if you know what it is, let me know. :)

Here are the measurements:

  • Sofy Sky card base - 5-1/2” x 11”, score at 2-1/8” on one side then flip it over and score at 2-1/8” on the opposite side to create the “shutters”
  • Peekaboo Peach cardstock - 1-3/4” x 5-1/4” (cut 2 of these)
  • Naturally Eclectic DSP - 1-1/2” x 5” (cut 2 of these)
  • Whisper White (inside) - 4” x 5-1/4”
  • Naturally Eclectic DSP (inside) 1/2” (give or take a little more) x 5-1/4”
  • Old Olive Belly Band 1” x 11-1/2”  (you can trim what you don’t need, it’s not an exact thing here)
  • Soft Sky cardstock - piece for 3rd largest Layering Circle (scalloped) Framelit
  • Whisper White cardstock - piece for 3rd largest Stitched Shapes Framelit

This card has a little “belly band” to keep it closed. Just slide it off and the card pops open. I just love a fun fold card, don’t you?

Y’all, can we just have a moment of silence for my favorite retiring product…Peekaboo Peach 5/8” Crinkled Seam Binding Trim. Not only does this trim have a TON of texture and dimension, it ties “like buttah” and that makes it extra special. I know not everyone is going to get that reference, so let’s just say it makes your bows look amazing and super fluffy.
The sentiment from the Beautiful Bouquet stamp set was embossed in Versamark Ink and Copper Embossing Powder. I’s almost like a rustic version of Peek-A-Boo Peach and adds a pop of shine, which I love.
I dressed up the inside of the card with a Happy Birthday sentiment, also from the Beautiful Bouquet set and added a little strip of DSP for a “pop” of pattern.
