Beautiful Balloons for PP638

Happy Sunday, friends!

Time for a fun new creative challenge over at The Paper Players!

This week, I am happy to be hosting our Tic-Tac-Toe Challenge.

Tic-Tac-Toe Challenges are a lot of fun because there is so much to pick from to get your creativity working. They are the “choose your own adventure” challenges, as I like to call them. Pick a row, pick the whole board…the choice is yours. I came SO CLOSE to checking every box on the board this week. I missed the fun/fancy fold! Well, I don’t know if Baker’s Twine is “technically" a ribbon…so I guess I missed two squares. It’s totally ok though because I had fun creating my card and that’s all that matters! :)

I was inspired to create for this challenge with the new Beautiful Balloon stamps and dies. This bundle will be in the new Stampin’ Up!® Annual Catalog which will be available on May 2nd. This is just such a cheery little set, perfect to celebrate birthdays and lots of other happy occasions.

The coordinating Bright & Beautiful Designer Series Paper features great colors, too. Many are either brand new or returning favorites with the color refresh this year. The new colors include: Azure Afternoon, Lemon Lolly and Bubble Bath. Returning favorites are Berry Burst, Blueberry Bushel, Pretty Peacock and Lemon Lime Twist. I forgot to order Lemon Lolly initially and it just arrived on Friday. It is such a pretty yellow, I couldn’t WAIT To use it!

Card Measurements & Details:

Azure Afternoon Card Base: 4-1/4” x 11”, score at 5-1/2"
Berry Burst Cardstock: 4” x 5-1/4”
Lemon Lolly Cardstock: 3-7/8” x 5-1/8”, emboss with the polka dots from the Basics 3D Embossing Folders
Bright & Beautiful Designer Series Paper: 1-7/8” x 4-3/8”
Basic White Cardstock: 1-7/8” x 4-3/8”, stamp ballon strings in Memento ink
Scraps of Berry Burst and Bubble Bath Cardstock for die-cut balloons, stamp confetti balloon image and accent with Wink of Stella for added sparkle
Azure Afternoon: scrap to stamp sentiment in Versamark, heat emboss in White Embossing Powder and die-cut with largest banner from Stylish Shapes Dies
Parakeet Party Baker’s Twine and Rhinestone Basic Jewels
Berry Burst Cardstock (card interior): 4” x 5-1/4”
Basic White Cardstock (card interior): 3-7/8” x 5-1/8”, stamp sentiment / balloon string in Memento ink, confetti in Bubble Bath ink and added an extra die-cut balloon

Finally a peek inside the card! I added an extra layer of Berry Burst Cardstock for fun along with a different pattern of that fabulous DSP. I also had an extra die-cut balloon from the front of the card that I didn’t use, so I popped it inside, too. Don’t you love those little confetti stamped images? This is the "non-messy" confetti to add to the inside of your cards. Haha! This is such a fun card to send to a friend to help celebrate some good news!

Brightest Beauty for PP611

Time for a fun new creative challenge over at The Paper Players!

This week, the always lovely Joanne is hosting our Theme Challenge.

Can you believe it’s already October? I feel like the second half of this year is just flying by, I’m not sure why. Our theme this week is perfect for this time of year: Changing Seasons - Autumn. Autumn is my favorite season, although we don’t really get the best of it here in south Texas. Our temps are STILL in the 90’s during the day (ugh, already…) but it is cooling off to the high 50’s at night. We are getting there, slowly but surely!

Color Combo:

For my card, I decided to use a new to me set from the Stampin’ Up July - December Mini Catalog. The Brightest Beauty stamp set and coordinating Golden Beauty Dies are just gorgeous and paired with this color combo are perfect for the fall season. I love how easy it is to layer up the die cut images and that label for the sentiment is just so pretty with the delicate detail. The Texture Chic Specialty Designer Series Paper added a little pop of gold which I thought added a subtle elegant touch. I also added some texture to the background with the Timeworn Type 3D Embossing folder and I just noticed the word “harvest” in the embossing, which is kind of cool for the theme as well.

Sahara Sand Cardstock: 4” x 5-1/4”
Texture Chic Specialty Designer Series Paper: 3-7/8” x 5-1/8”
Sahara Sand Cardstock: 2-1/2” x 5-1/8”, emboss with Timeworn Type 3D Embossing Folder and add some Sahara Sand ink around edges and raised areas with a Sponge Dauber
Sahara Sand Cardstock: scrap to stamp sentiment in Soft Suede ink, die cut with label and add some Sahara Sand ink around the edges with a Sponge Dauber
Soft Succulent, Cajun Craze & Crushed Curry Cardstock: scraps to die cut the leaves and flowers
Add Wink of Stella Clear Glitter Brush to flowers for added sparkle
Linen Thread and Brushed Brass Butterflies
Basic White Cardstock (inside card): 4” x 5-1/4”, stamp sentiment in Soft Suede ink, stamp decorative images in Soft Succulent ink stamped-off once to lighten the ink

Finally, here is a peek inside the card! I added another strip of that beautiful DSP to bring a pop of gold inside. I also added some texture with that beautiful stamped image along with a coordinating sentiment. I really like how this card came together and I hope you do as well. :)
