I'll be taking a short break from blogging. I have finals this week and have to handle some other (real life) things. Hopefully the chaos is over by next weekend.

On another note, I'm so sorry that I've been lagging on the pink & red giveaway. Since Valentine's Day is over, I've decided to scrap the idea altogether. I'm planning another giveaway (using some of the items from the pink & red giveaway and new items).

I'm in a pickle though. Should I do the giveaway soon or wait until after Easter? I've given up buying makeup so if I were to do the giveaway before Easter, I won't be able to add lots of new items. However, if I wait, I can add more items to better suit my theme.

The new giveaway theme is inspired by MAC's upcoming Quite Cute collection. It's going to be full of cutesy items and bright and pastel colors. I can't wait! Let me know your thoughts.

I used Random.org this time around but my non-techy brain didn't know how to copy and paste the little "table" it gives you. I just went to the main page and punched in the numbers. =P I WANTED to write all the names down and mix them all up like I did with my first giveaway but this time around, there were way too many entries for that (maybe I'll do that next time if I have the time.)

Anyways, surprisingly there were a few boo boos in peoples' entries. For instance, some didn't tell me there there favorite "face" product for a super easy extra entry. Some wrote a non-face product like lipstick but instead of not giving the extra entry, I gave it but gave everyone who actually wrote down a "face product" like blush, foundation, face cream, etc. an extra two entries. =P This is just a little reminder though for my next giveaway -don't miss out on easy extra entries!

I also felt a little bad for only having one winner. More Butterflies for my Hair (Pack of 4 for $1.49 @ Michaels) & Upcoming Giveaway Thoughts?

I think you all know about my butterfly obsession by now since my last post where I showed you the $1 butterfly clips from H&M. Well, I wanted to show you more. I picked up these packs of 4 today for only $1.49 each (they were on sale from $2.99) at Michaels craft store. Unlike the H&M clips, these are made of feathers, have lots of glitter, are smaller, and are very fragile. I had to mix and match the clips from other sets because every set had at least 2 or more broken butterflies.

These butterflies are actually for decorating (maybe even for Christmas trees?) but since they have little clips attached, I can use them for my hair. =)

 

I wanted to remind everyone that my Birthday Giveaway will be ending very soon (in 5 days to be exact.) Please enter before it ends!! Your Opinions on my Upcoming Giveaway PLEASE!!

So I'm having a giveaway very soon (I already have all the prizes) and was planning on including this new, travel size Evian spray (pictured above) since it's one of my beauty staples. It came in a 3 pack that I purchased a year ago (I purchased my big bottle like 2 years ago!) Anyways, I just noticed today that on the bottom of the can, the expiration date says 12/2010 (which is next month!!) I still have one of the travel size bottles (from the same pack and with the same expiration date) that I usually keep in my purse. It still works fine and doesn't seem expired at all -I mean it's really just water (but then again it's not December yet.)

Anyways, I was wondering if I should include it in the giveaway prize pack. What are your thoughts? Just let me know.. yes or no. I want to post the giveaway on Thursday so please let me know your opinions soon!

200 Followers! I Spy a Giveaway in the Near Future (Sneak Peek)

I've mentioned a 2nd giveaway coming up soon and I just hit 200 followers so I decided it was about time! I don't want to get all emotional again but thank you so much for the support -you don't know how happy I get just to see comments on my posts!

I still need more time to gather some prizes but above are prize possibilities. Milani HD Advanced Lip Color in Classy Nude & Ignition Review & Swatches (Plus CVS Price Raises & Prizes Have Been Sent)

I've been eyeing Milani's HD Advanced Lip Color lipsticks for a while now but none of the shades never striked my interest. Recently, due to MAC's release of Toxic Tale (I so regret not getting it!!), I've been incredibly drawn to bright cherry reds and corals so I figured why not try one now? I quickly bought Ignition (it was the last one!) and Classy Nude since CVS is having a Buy One Get One Half Off on Milani this week.

The Packaging: The lipsticks are packaged in long, thin black tubes with the "M" (for Milani) embossed all over the tube. There is a gold ring above the "twister" part and another gold ring below the cap with "Milani" engraved in it. When you twist the lipstick up, it makes a clicking noise which scared me because I thought that it wouldn't twist down. I tested it though and the lipstick twisted down with no problems.

This is a "slim" lipstick and I never realized how much I prefer slimmer lipsticks until now. They're easier to apply than "regular" lipsticks.

Ingredients

The Product: I feel like I was a little harsh when scoring the "value grade" but this only contains .06 ounces of product -that's less than half a Revlon ColorBurst Lipstick and ColorBurst is 50 cents cheaper!

My first impression of the lipstick is that it felt very hydrating on my lips. My lips are going through a very dry phase right now and I've been avoiding lipsticks and sticking with glosses. This actually feels more like a cross between a lip balm and a gloss than a lipstick -it's feels moisturizing and doesn't dry out my lips. At first, it seems to "sit on top" of my lips but after about half an hour, it sinks in. When I remove it, my lips are pretty soft (but I wouldn't replace my lip balm with this.) Both shades are good in terms of color payoff but I'd describe them as semi-sheer and slightly buildable. Ignition will leave a slight stain after it's faded.

These have a sweet watermelon candy scent -they smell like a Lip Smacker but it doesn't bother me since I can't taste it and the scent fades quickly. As for lasting ability, Ignition wears for about 3 hours while Classy Nude wears for just over 2.

Overall: I really, really like these and would recommend them especially to people with dry lips. These are a nice alternative to the basic gloss or matte lipstick as it's somewhere inbetween. If these lasted a little longer and were a better value, I'd give them an A- grade. I really don't think they're a great value compared to other drugstore lipsticks especially for the small amount you get (0.06 oz.)

Where To Buy: Cherry Culture, CVS (I checked CVS.com and it's only $7.99 on there!! Maybe my CVS is just jacking up prices.. because $1.50 is a big price difference.)

On another note, have you noticed that CVS has raised the prices on most of their cosmetics?? I bought a Maybelline Gel Liner last week for $9.99 and this week it's around $10.79 (I can't remember the exact price.) Also, I wanted to get a Revlon Illuminator last week and it was around $13.99 but now it's like $15!! What's going on here?? Is it just the CVS stores in my area?

I Won! Giveaway Goodies (The Little Bra Company Sascha Bra Review)

I've been meaning to post this for so long but kept lagging!! Anyways, the lovely PetiteAsianGirl (check out her wonderful blog here) joined forces with The Little Bra Company (a company that designs bras especially for petite women) to host a giveaway for the followers of Extra Petite a few weeks ago. I entered without really thinking I'd win........ and to my surprise, I DID indeed win!! Thank you so much again to PetiteAsianGirl and The Little Bra Company! =)

The prize was a lovely Sascha Bra (strapless lace) so I was super excited since I've been needing a good strapless bra. Bras for petite girls are general pretty hard to find and the difficulty is doubled.. maybe even tripled when it comes to strapless bras. For me, strapless bras tend to either dig (at the top) into my chest in a way giving me a boob muffin top or the band is too big that I have to pull the bra up every few minutes.

Anyways, the package was delivered super quickly -it only took 3 days! Let me show you the lovely packaging..

I love when things are packaged nicely (gift boxes, ribbons, etc.) so I thought it was so cute how the bra wasn't just "tossed" into tissue paper -the tissue paper was folded all neat like an envelope (see 1st pic.) To secure the "flap", there was a TLBC (The Little Bra Company) sticker. Love their slogan!

How To Wear The Little Bra

Here's what it looks like. I chose the color "pearl" which is a light beige -not bright white like the picture.

So what do I think of my new little bra?

I followed the TLBC size chart and the bra fit pretty well. (They recommend that you go up a band size from your usual bra size too and I did.) The band fits pretty good (closed at the "tightest" hooks) but it's a little bit loose -not as loose as my other strapless bras though and it doesn't slide down but it's loose. As for the cups, they fit perfectly and don't pinch into my chest at all. The Sascha bra is also supposed to be a push-up -no strapless has ever "pushed me up" before. Every strapless I've tried tends to make the chest look smaller and flatter because the cups are so -"flatly" designed.

Anyways, this did give me a little "push up" -not as much of a push up as my normal (non-strapless) bras but it still did give me some lift. I also really like the color (it doesn't show under white or light clothing -I wouldn't wear a light bra under black clothing) and love the lace detailing. Overall, the bra is very comfortable and the fit is nice although I'd prefer the band to be just a tad smaller. I would definitely recommend the bra to any petite ladies out there.

I really want to try the other bras -especially the Angela. I also want to try the Yvonne and Lucia-AB.
